She does have a certain "Pony next door" quality to her that the rest of the cast lacks.


Concerning Rarity: Don't get me wrong. She certainly knows how to get her way, and I like her as a character. However, something about her M.O. just grates on me. Perhaps the superficiality?

That said, she also kicks tail. I see her ruling Canterlot ten years down the road.

Well, she is the most normal-looking of the main cast. Some people just like normal. She is also the only one with plausibly natural coloration.

I also sometimes wonder why, of the six different characters, the farmer girl is the only one to always have apparel or accessories? (Hat and hairbands, specifically)

No. I far prefer her bitter, black humoured and sarcastic - Hearth's Warming is the best portrayal of Applejack. I don't really take to her regular personality.

I don't like Unicorn head shapes. Fluttershy tries a bit hard to be attractive for my tastes. Rainbow Dash defies categorisation in my head. I do not like Pinkie Pie's design. The Princess I consider more spirits than ponies.

It's not even in all AJ pictures. It's just a few, in a certain style, that she takes well to. Pictures like these

AJ and Pinkie are no doubt the least attractive. I always put AJ as least, but now that I think hard on it I could also see Pinkie taking up last place. I actually think that makes sense now. Pinkie least attractive, then AJ, maybe it's because of Dexam's picture above... damn that IS cute. Damn you, Dexam!

Fluttershy was briefly a model, and since I rarely find models attractive I'll put her in fourth place.

Rarity is, of course, rather fabulous. But she also suffers from my general dislike of models. However, I think the fact that she never did catch the eye of Photo Finish suggests she's get a more... well-rounded look. Third place.

Which leaves Rainbow and Twilight to battle for first place. I can't quite see Twilight taking first, and I really like Rainbow Dash... I suspect she'd be just my kind of girl.

I think it's a lot of things contributing to this mental image I have of her, which isn't very appealing to me. I've struggled to describe it to myself for a long time, I just can't find the right words, but AJ is unattractive to me.

Easy for me-- AppleJack. We're both hard workers, fairly honest, and stubborn at times. Plus we're both good bakers of delicious treats!

'Cause she's a "down to" earth pony?

I think it's partly the fact she's the "hollywood" southern girl type. The art and attitude tends to lean toward having that practical, tomboyish look but while still having the lady-like natural beauty. So she can be pretty and roughhouse with the boys at the same time. Its what I find appealing with tomboys.
Also, I love her snarks.
Oh, and freckles. Likes the freckles.
As for why AJ has all the accessories?
...I dunno.


My fav ponies would be AppleJack and Rarity. Probably explains why "Look Before You Sleep" is one of my favorite episodes.

WHAT!? That is the most outrageous thing I've ever heard. I would never attempt to enslave my heavily cyberized patients. Such an act would be completely unconscionable, and besides, the control algorithms are far too unstable.
