Re: Waterdeep [Sandbox 3.5] IC
Once everyone is onboard and in position, Smells signals with very basic hand gestures pointing to each person.
- Ed -> Helmsman (portside)
- Trent -> Helmsman (portside)
- Me -> Helmsman (starboard)
- Lilella -> Helmsman (starboard)
- Sagan -> ??? (Shrugs shoulders)
- Everyone -> Captain
He then signals Ed to sneak in with him 3...2...1...
If Ed goes with it and doesn't signal any complaint with the plan:

Damn goblin, now he gives orders... but Edward follows his plan after all.
He sneaks along Smells funny and strikes at the same time, trying to make the best out of surprise.

Here are the dice rolls I made for this turn.

Re: Waterdeep [Sandbox 3.5] IC
The party launches into action as Lilella and Sagan reach the deck. Both Lilella and Trent fire at the skipper but only one arrow strikes him in the leg. He cries out in pain and the other arrow thuds harmlessly into the wheel. Edward jumps out and surprises one of the sailors and cuts him deeply into the back. The other sailor manages to side step Smells Funny's attack.
The sailors draw their long knives at their belts and prepare to fight. The skipper starts to ring a bell above the wheel signaling something is wrong.
One sailor swipes his knife toward Edward but misses him entirely. However, the other sailor swings his sword wildly but manages to cut into Smells Funny drawing blood [4 dmg].

Lil' Edward
Edward sees how all their plan fails when he hears the bell "The bell... we are so stupid!"
He panickes with the imaginary image of dozens of angry sailors with swords.
We have to take control of the battlegorund! Shouts to the others. "Lilella try to take higher position! Climb a shroud or move to the quarter deck!"
Edward makes an acrobatic slide to move aways his enemy and aid Smells Funny, placing himself on the opposite side of his opponent so they both can confuse him and hit him easier.
He stabs him in the butt with his cutlass hoping to make him fall. "Down!"

Re: Waterdeep [Sandbox 3.5] IC
Edward tumbles behind the confused sailor and plunges his sword through the back of the man and the tip of the blade came out of his chest. The sailor fell limp and Edward can feel the weight of the dead body on his blade as it falls to the deck in a heap.
The skipper draws his cutlass and swings it at Edward ((1d20+3)[7](1d6)[2]) but he swings wildly his sword only cutting through the air.
Despite the goblins attack on him, the other sailor continues to press on his attack as he fights for his life ((1d20+1)[6](1d4)[2]) but he seems distracted and unable to land a hit on the goblin.
Sal leaps from the rear of the ship and carefully makes his way through the fighting and takes the wheel of the ship. He clangs the bell twice, hoping that is the signal for all is clear.

Re: Waterdeep [Sandbox 3.5] IC
Edward's blade cuts fast and deep; his first strike plunges into the skipper's leg, the other in to his arm. The skipper drops his sword and grips his leg, you can see a rush of blood filling the man's pants turning them red. Edward must have hit the right place and the man falls to the deck.

Trent, you're a better marksman than me, see if you can get a good shot of the watchman up there. Having faith in Trent's proven superoir ability (as much as the thought stings her pride), she turns to search the bodies, taking anything that might be useful and stuffing it in her pack before helping toss the bodies over. Re: Waterdeep [Sandbox 3.5] IC
The sailor in the crows nest shouts, "Pirates at the helm!!" but as he shouts you can see the your ship coming in on the port side of this ship out of the fog. He shouts again but you cannot understand what he is saying in his surprise. You can now see men coming out from below deck, still sleepy. You can also see the captain of this ship coming out on to the main deck too. Grappling hooks from your ship snag across the deck pulling the ships together until you feel the ships crashing into each other. Sal looks to you and says, "Kill or capture the captain before too many sailors die."
You can see the captain of this boat on the far side yelling at his sailors to protect the ship.

Re: Waterdeep [Sandbox 3.5] IC
The fighting on the deck continues, you see several men on both sides being cut down, then your captain shouts out in a loud booming voice, "Lay down your weapons, you are out numbered! I know most of you are freeman sailors, we have no fight with you. Surrender your captain and we will give you safe passage." Some of the men stop fighting and drop their weapons on the deck. Soon the fight is over and the ship's captain is running on the deck and moving up to the ship's wheel where you are waiting. Captain Whitebeard shouts to you, "Capture him!!"
