Also, Thangol, just a note on that third request of mine, I actually just recetly finished the third draft of the story that that was derived from, which has been posted in the latest post of this topic, and I was wondering if you could take a look at it. Even if you say it sucks, I'd still like more input on it, especially on the prose and on the male co-protagonist, as I'm really worried about the quality of both.

Also, there's a scene (Added as of draft two and changed around in place on draft three) where the female roachwoman co-protagonist is fighting a giant Ronald McDonald/Horrible Synthetic Meat monster with a topless centipede woman while the male co-protagonist hides under a stack of fallen tables and draws a surprisingly good picture of the whole fight. So yeah, if that scene catches your fancy, wouldja consider drawing it when you feel the muse going that way? Again, no rush.

Eclipse Caste is best caste. Let me tell you a story about Eclipse castes.

So, we made a deal with the Pale Lady, who is the Goddess of Pain and Suffering that three times she gets to veto a decision that we as a group make. This is bad, but it's sanctified with an Eclipse Oath so what are we gonna do?

So we invade the Lap on unrelated charges and fight Ahlat, the God of Cattle and War. Our Eclipse Caste says "Surrender now and we'll give you a merciful death". Ahlat laughs at us, so then we get in a BIG FIGHT. We eventually beat him down and he surrenders.

So then the Eclipse calls up the Pale Lady, and says, "Hey ma'am, we have this ass hat Ahlat who's been killing your worshippers and being a douche. We were thinking of not giving him to you to punish."

The Pale Lady: "VETO"

Eclipse: "Aww. Sorry, Ahlat, you heard the goddess of pain and suffering."

Day 730: Year In Review

It's done. Two whole years of learning how to draw.

The progress I've made has been staggering. Insane. Undreamed of. When I challenged myself randomly two years ago I didn't think I'd come this far and I didn't imagine that I'd still be going. But I have, and I am.

The most important thing is that I still love drawing. It's fun. It's still fun and it's still challenging and it's still opened me up to a world of strange and beautiful things. I see the world in a different way now, and it's amazing.

The core lesson here is the same as it was last year. "I can't" is a convenient lie to justify sloth. I 'couldn't', and I did. And here we are.

Onto year three. I hope it's just as wonderful.
