[Nexus] The Frescot House

[Murkus]

Well, without all that money, the space for more kids might not've been possible. The stag lets Laela's head drop, his arm retreating from the crib. He tries to wrap a hand around Sakura's shoulders, watching Laela grow drowsy. "Goodnight." He whispers, shortly before attempting to guide Sakura toward the door and shut off the light.

As a brief note, Adir did take time to install a night-light along with the crib.

[Gullara]

Sakura goes on her tiptoes to give Adir a brief kiss. "Want to get the rest of the stuff out of the truck?" She asks after a moment.

[Murkus]

"You got it. How about some dinner?" Adir asks, giving Sakura a squeeze and kissing the side of her head. "I can't promise it'll be the best..."

[Gullara]

"Better than anything I can make. Come on, let's go see what we can find." Sakura says and grabs his hand. She'll proceed downstairs and to the kitchen, pulling her husband along.

[Murkus]

The husband is pulled, and while he seems quite energetic, no food has been prepared. They might find some leftover lunches from lazy movers or construction workers, but there is little in the way of ingredients for their meal.

Adir, not being the pickiest fellow, brings his head out of the fridge with his mouth full of turkey sandwich. "M'not seein much," he mumbles.

[Gullara]

Sakura leans against the door of the fridge and peers in. "Hrm, doesn't look like it." She reaches in and pulls out a piece of bread taken off the top of another sandwich. "I guess we'll need to go shopping."

[Murkus]

"Well... What should we do about Laela? You want me to go?" Adir says. They really should have more forethought, moving into a home like this. The stag remembers all the furniture but doesn't remember things like food.

[Gullara]

"No, don't go. We can just scavenge until tomorrow maybe." Sakura takes another bite of bread just to show that they can make do. "We can go on a big shopping trip and fill the cupboards."

[Murkus]

"Are you sure?" Adir asks, straightening. He sets the sandwich aside a moment. "I can just make a quick run into town..."

[Gullara]

"Well... alright. But be quick, and we'll still have to go shopping tomorrow. Oh, and then get something for breakfast too then." Sakura says.

[Murkus]

"Like you said, fill the cupboards. Sorry I forgot," Adir says, taking the responsibility upon himself. He attempts to plant a kiss on Sakura's lips before hurrying off into the evening. It seems it's started to rain, growing darker all the time.

The stag will likely be back in an hour or two, coming inside with armfulls of plastic bags. He has to make a couple trips before all the groceries are inside. Adir is drenched quite thoroughly.

"Sakura! I'm home!" He calls, forgetting about the sleeping baby.

The stag's looking forward to relaxing in his own living room. And his own bed, for that matter.

[Gullara]

Crying! Suddenly crying from upstairs. Adir should have called a little quieter, or better yet, went to find Sakura. Oh well, it can't be helped.

The dryad herself staggers out of the living room, looking like she just woke up. "Hey, Honey." She gives him a smile, and then winces at the next shrill cry. "I'll go get her." Sakura quickly disappears upstairs.

Who said anything about relaxing?

[Murkus]

Adir suddenly feels very foolish. This happens to far too often.

The stag slaps his wet forehead with one hand, sighing deeply as Sakura hurries upstairs. He grumbles something at himself, walking back toward the kitchen to find something he can dry off with. When she comes back down, she'll likely find Adir toweling his hair rigorously. No risk of tearing, for once - having no antlers is a bit of a blessing. "Hey, hon. Sorry 'bout that. I'm, uh, really not used to this yet."

[Gullara]

It takes a few minutes before the crying stops, and a few more before Sakura comes downstairs carrying Laela. The dryad laughs a little and shakes her head. "That's fine. I probably should feed her anyway, now that she's up." She doesn't sound like she's quite awake yet. She must have crashed hard after Adir left.

[Murkus]

"I feel kinda bad about waking you, too," Adir says, scrutinizing his tired wife. The stag turns away for a moment, just so he can put some of the food away. "How long's it been since you got decent sleep?"

[Gullara]

"Um... a while." Is the best answer Sakura can come up with. "It's better since you're getting up for her, but I still get woken up." She yawns hugely, then sets about shifting her dress so she can feed Laela.

[Murkus]

"Honey, y'know, we can use a formula," says Adir, leaning on the counter and holding a hand out, palm up. "You don't have to get up to feed her." He rolls his hand a little.

[Gullara]

"And I'm supposed to let you get up all the time?" Sakura questions with a warm smile. "It's fine. Besides, this is the sort of thing we signed up for when we became parents."

[Murkus]

"Yes. You are," Adir says, stepping forward to take Sakura's shoulders in his hands. "You deserve it."

[Gullara]

"You're sweet, honey, but you're going to have to tie me to the bed if you want me to stay there when she's crying." The dryad giggles. She almost goes to give him a kiss before she remembers she has a feeding baby she doesn't want to jostle.

[Murkus]

"As intriguing as that sounds, I'll pass," Adir says with a dry smile and half-closed eyes. "If I can't help you sleep, maybe we can take turns or something."

[Gullara]

"Well, I guess that could work." She says, smiling wryly. Sakura knows she could definitely use the extra sleep. But she wants to avoid having a sleep deprived zombie husband too.

[Murkus]

"You guess so? Not gonna be too stubborn?" Adir asks with an amused grin. "You'll come around. I know it."

[Gullara]

"Oh, we'll have to see about that." Just as she finishes speaking, Laela stops feeding and turns her head to look at Adir. She smiles, and there's a little bit of milk dripping down her chin.

"There you go, all full." Sakura pulls her dress back in place as best she can with one hand. "Now it's our turn." She says with a glance back toward the food Adir bought.

Wherever Sarget is

A small creature approaches Sarget from behind. At this angle, Sarget isn't immediately a Treant... but he is a tree with some fruit at the top. And this critter is hungry...

For most critters in this forest, getting a running jump and latching onto a treant might not even be noticed... but this particular creature is two feet of subdermal steel and a set of jaws almost that big... coming out of the back of her head

Usually, this Mawile goes for bigger fruit or human food, but she's hangry now and will make do until she finds something better.

[Gullara]

[Outside]

The treant is completely unfazed by the pokemon leaping onto him. It's far from uncommon for animals to climb on him. Of course, Sarget does not the weight of the creature, and that's the only reason he pays it any mind. He shifts a bit and his branches creak and groan as they move. The Mawile is left to do as it will for the moment, however.

[Lost_Deep]

Outside

The Mawile's strong little hand will probably leave some marks in Sarget's back... not that that's any real trouble. What might cause trouble is when Mawile reaches high enough and tries to chomp off a good-sized branch with her big jaws. That's a lot of fruit, and wood, she's claiming there...

[Gullara]

[Outside]

As the pokemon chomps down, the branch shifts. She'll get a mouthful of leaves, flowers, and a few fruits, but the branch avoids being bitten off. "Careful, little one. You could harm me." The treant rumbles.

[Lost_Deep]

Outside

"Ma-"

Mawile, surprised, drops off of the treant and looks around, swallowing the mouthful that she got. Where did that voice come from? Who spoke?

[Gullara]

[Outside]

Sarget slowly turns around, being careful not to step on Mawile. He looks down at the pokemon and waits for her to react.
