    Cael emerged from the tunnels slowly, it almost felt like waking from a nightmare. She reveled in open sky, being able to see trees and grass again. As the others went to speak to the wolf, Cael turned around and scanned the tree tops. She could feel his presence nearby but wasn't sure where exactly. After a few moments, a shadow detached itself from the tree tops and glided down on black wings towards her. Smiling broadly for the first time in a long while, Cael held her arm out as the Raven landed.

    "Dyfyn, it is good to see you again."

    Rugin appears to remain silent, for a moment then "It is a temple, of sorts, the humans that wished to worship our leader once carved out and made it to go below the ground and meet him. The "Temple" is a sort of trap, the real holy area is many miles below that, you can say it was built to keep out intruders, it has of course failed. and I know not of any grey things." he then sits and lays down.Rugin then seeing the bird familar fly in "Looks like you have brought a small snack." saying this with a hint of laughter in his voice

    Then the girl speaks up "Ruin is a being that destroys innocence, that is why he has so many children in his control, he cannot tell the innocent babes from myself, but it is me he hunts most ferverantly, as I am pure. The other necromancer is simply a mortal playing in games not understood by him, he believes he can claim Ruin's power by using me, he is wrong of course, I'm simply a valve for ruin, my purity in the world keeps him in check, just like my ancestors, It is not the source."

    Many miles below? Surely that is hyperbole. Said the Paladin. Of course, you could have mentioned a bit more about the temple before sending us down. The 'grey things' that Vash mentioned are small humanoids, perhaps three feet tall. They speak in a tongue that none save Thar here could understand.

    Which brings us to another question.

    Thar and Cael here were held prisoner by a necromancer, the same one that held the young girl. How did these get into the temple to be held captive without your prior knowledge? Or are there more entries to the temple. And if there are more, then where are they? And to what purpose was it in concealing the existence of them?


    As he spoke, Pedivere wandered over to the half-elf and reached out his hand, touching him gently over the wounds that had been caused to him. As he did so, his hand glowed slightly and he muttered a word to himself.

    Swept with a wave of euphoria as the priest's magic soaks into him, Vash stretches and works to loosen his remaining soreness.

    I have to say, with the proper application that trick must work the ladies over something fierce.

    Rugin gives a small nod acknowledging Pedivere's comment "It is no hyperbole, you have to go deeper to find the real holy place, their may be more entrances from the tunnels below the trapped area, it is possible."

    After a few hours you make camp in the village and sleep through the night, grateful for the rest after your long day. you wake up in the morning, the things you asked for are sitting in the grass waiting for you to pick them up, once you do, Rugin comes over "Thank you for helping us, now we must rebuild, and ask you to leave immediately."

    Before resting for the night, Pedivere heals himself and Vash once more.

    As morning arrives, he dons his new armour, stows his old for trade later and tests the weight and balance of his new axe.

    Utterly awestruck by the beauty and perfection of his new blade, Vash is left speechless as he packs his things in a daze and walks off following the group. It hasn't even dawned on him that his pack is surprisingly light, or that he should at some point actually put the sword away.

    You begin to head west on the island, believing it to be the way to town, however you soon find out that knowing something is in a direction and getting their are two very different things.

    Cael spent the morning pouring over her book, the pages felt like old companions that she'd spent too long apart from. When she'd completed her studies, she quietly followed the group she'd found herself a part of. She couldn't stay here and she didn't know where she should go, it seemed wisest to follow her rescuer's.

    Pedivere kept an eye out for Cael. She seemed to be a little lost, concerned or perhaps was just being cautious. In the temple she had been the most physically and mentally affected. He walked near her and tried to engage her in conversation.

    What brought you to this place Cael? It is fairly remote and not altogether charmless.

    Cael blinked, a little surprised at the question. Why would he want to know what she was doing here?

    "Why wouldn't he want to know?" muttered Dyfyn from her shoulder, "If he saved you, he has a right to know."

    Of course, he was right. After all, she was curious about everything that went on around her as well.

    "I came to learn, history weighs heavily here."

    Feeling that perhaps he wanted more than just a solitary answer, she struggled to consider what could be said to maintain the conversation.

    How did it normally go? Ah, yes.

    Pedivere wasn't really sure if he'd get an honest answer, and maybe he did, but if so it definitely was a cryptic one and one that obfuscated at least some of the reason why Cael had come. Still, it was her right and her choice, and Pedivere was merely trying to make polite conversation.

    Myself, he started, thinking. Why had he come? It was something he didn't really know, how or to what purpose he had boarded the ship to bring him to this wretched place. I merely started walking, my feet are guided for me, the path is not set by me, nor is it governed by providence or enigmatic fortune. No, I travel until I know I have found where it is the Lady Iomedae wishes me to attend. Personally, he wasn't sure exactly how true that was. Perhaps providence played a part, perhaps it was divine influence upon the mortal world, maybe it was just luck or even nothing more than simple co-incidence.

    Still, he was here now. He would do his best to remedy the situation that had beset the town, to aid the wolves and to ensure that the necromancer who held by Cael and Thar prisoner, finished face down.

    as you chat and walk down the trail heading west, after awhile you arivve at and actual road, and following it leads you back to the town, where you see more people walking around then before, all of the smiling and happy looking.

    Tell me I'm not the only one that finds this whole situation completely unsetteling. I get that the mist is gone... but didn't the entire city's population of children end up as undead thralls in the service of some still at large necromancer? What the **** are they smiling about?

    Bishop surveys the situation then mutters some comment about stepford families under his breath. He looks over to Vash and says "I don't rightly know but I would wager a guess that it is something in the water..." He cracks a small smile and looks around cautiously with his hand firmly holding the grip of his pistol. "Would be nice to find a workshop of sorts so I can make some alterations to my piece."
