Re: MS Paint Adventures 6:12
Its not something im proud of. Its not something I think in the front of my brain. But there is this little nibbling feeling inside of me that prevents me from thinking rationally.
Thats why sometimes I need to walk away from arguments, process them in my head to then come to a conclusion. I have never seen a heated argument result in a side changing opinions in my life.

Re: MS Paint Adventures 6:12
It rarely does, that is I usually take some time forming my response to people's arguments now. It usually leads to something actually useful.
Sometimes I just want to rant though.

Re: MS Paint Adventures 6:12
The purpose of discussion is not to enforce your views upon the other party. The purpose of discussion is to explore the views presented and discover the view that is right. The view that is right is not necessarily the original view held by either party, and in fact it almost never is.
I can't say that I hold to this style of discussion perfectly myself, but it's something to strive for.5e Homebrew: Death Knight (Class), Kensai (Monk Subclass)Excellent avatar by Elder Tsofu.

Re: MS Paint Adventures 6:12
One might contribute one's thoughts on the relative merits of various points of view in order to help others to formulate better-informed opinions, with the hope that they will likewise grant such assistance. One might do that!
If you think that your own opinion is probably objectively correct, then obviously you regard any contradictory opinion as probably incorrect. But that doesn't mean that you can't acknowledge the possibility that you are incorrect and be willing to change your mind. Doing so helps you to change your mind when you are incorrect, which you sometimes are, unless you're infallible. (If you're unwilling to change your mind because you think you're infallible, then there's probably nothing I can do to convince you otherwise, rather obviously. :P)
After all, if others should be willing to change their minds based on what you say, then you should be willing to change your mind based on what they say for the same reasons, right? It makes little sense to say "They think that they're right, but I know that I'm right". Saying that you know something is true just means that you're highly certain of it. It's quite possible, even likely, that at least one thing you're highly certain of is false.
Also, the word "opinion" can cover personal feelings about something rather than beliefs. Someone else may not care about something that's important to you, for example. What would it even mean for one of you to be wrong about that? (That you don't really care about what you think you care about, or vice versa?)
E.g. you might want pathos and not give a rat's ass about romance, while someone else wants romance and doesn't give a rat's ass about (or actively dislikes!) pathos. If the two of you express these feelings, that only looks like a contradiction if you assume for some reason that you both really want the same thing (maybe because you think that expressing a preference about something is a statement about that thing rather than a statement about you).
So, have you drawn the obvious conclusion that it's foolish to get into a heated argument in order to change someone's opinion?
Just checking.
Is that... a Kankri version of Aradia's usual emoticon? But you're not talking about Kankri, so why would you...? 0_0

Re: MS Paint Adventures 6:12
Now this is going to be interesting. I wonder how John is going to react to meeting Vriska face to face, especially considering Tavros is nearby.

Re: MS Paint Adventures 6:12
Well, assuming that A: This is an actual dreaming-John and not an alt-dead-John, B: He knows/realizes he's in a Dream Bubble, and C: Already knows how Dream Bubbles work (which he does from previous jaunts into the dream bubbles, IIRC) then it doesn't matter if he carries the hammer around or not; he can choose to present himself as any version of himself while in the dream, including one that happens to be wielding that hammer.

Re: MS Paint Adventures 6:12
It's supposed to be a sign of dejection and ennui, I think. Also, Jack is clearly not coming back, so it's not like John is in any real danger.

Re: MS Paint Adventures 6:12
Not exactly; You only lose the pupils once you actually figure out your dead. Doomed john, for instance, had pupils up until he realized he was dead. Still, making this a doomed timeline john makes no sense from a narative standpoint (Granted, it's Hussie, so I could see him doing it anyway, but generally speaking, he doesn't do things like this), or a technical standpoint (remember, doomed timelines arise because actions are taken to avert them through time travel, and I don't think Dave did anything that would have caused one once John went god tier; Most of the dead daves arose from mistakes Dave made in keeping the time loop straight)

Its symbolic.
notice how the nerdy male has deserted a macho movie to watch a bunch of horses galloping about, what does this remind you of?

Re: MS Paint Adventures 6:12
I am wildly holding out hope that the next panel is going to be John, spotting Vriska and Tavros, who are in the process of doing something just absolutely absurd.

Re: MS Paint Adventures 6:12
And while holding out, I decided to do one of my old hobbies and glance at the horoscopes, see what's applicable to what's going on.
Quite a lot! Depending on what characters pop up next panel, anyway.
JOHN: "The only thing that can hold you back is a negative attitude to life. No matter how tough things may be, or you think they may be, make sure you look on the bright side - and your day will be brighter, too."
TAVROS: "Promise yourself now that no matter how much certain people may annoy you, it is not going to change what you do. Also, don't lose your temper. If you do, it means they will see it as a victory."
MEENAH: "Do not give up on a project that seems to have ground to a halt. Maybe it has, but the planets say that is only a temporary delay and one that may even benefit you in the long term."
KARKAT: "Something is worrying you to the extent that you can't get it out of your head. You of all people should know it's not healthy to dwell on negative thoughts, so focus your mind on something more uplifting."If you like my thoughts, you'll love my writing. Visit me at www.mishahandman.com.

Re: MS Paint Adventures 6:12
I have to admit, the thought of John/Tavros interactions make me downright giddy. The two breath players have so much in common, and so much went wrongly for one of them that factored into the other, that any conversation beyond about five seconds will probably be great.
