[Nexus] GLoG 82: So Many Babies!

"It's nice to meet you too...Salix, is it?"
Rainbow wasn't quite sure who was who!

"Nuh uh. I'm Salix!" The little weeping willow dryad that looks to be about seven years old pipes up. She gives Natalie and Jamie a little wave as well.

[Main Cabin]

Pansy flees!
Which is really probably the smart thing to do.

It's one thing to have weird, angry pony things in the building, and another entirely to have disembodied voices talking about holes in reality.
And a highly distressed, weird, angry pony.

While Freddie becomes hesitant again, Luna proceeds to become some mixture of terrified and angry again.
The voice sounded familiar...but in light of recent information, and what it is talking about...
This entity was wrong, in every way that mattered.
"No! Remove your taint from this place at once!"

The pony may not have a body to aim at, but there are alternative options.
Like willing a field of safety around herself and Freddie, a shimmering blue dome that he could technically avoid/leave whenever he desired.

And theoretically bar everything else "unacceptable" from its confines.
Which, for the pony, appears to be K'rax-Naggath.

Attend to your defenses before you being an assault. Another lesson from her sister, from a time long past.

[Main Cabin]

Now that there aren't any halflings in here to protect Freddie is slooooowly edging toward the door. That voice is creeping himr out something fierce and he really doesn't want to stick around for whatever exchange of magical doom may be incoming between it and the pony.

If anything they need some supernatural support.

Quinn has experience with that sort of thing, right?

The Huldra bolts out of the door heading for the infirmary!

Meanwhile!

"No I shouldn't expect anymore gribbly things mucking about in the Nexus aside from the one that's already here? Hoo! That's good to know!" the voice continues, diplomatically ignoring the comment about taint removal.

A beat.

"Y'know. The shield is nice. But three dimensional bubbles are as open as a box without a top to most hypernatural beings. If your reaction is any indication then you're afraid of things like me, and rightly so. But I don't think you have any idea how to deal with us properly."

Again comes that feeling that Luna is being scrutinized. And the rather disturbing sensation of something incomprehensibly large sniffing at her. Like a great dane sniffing at a mouse.

"Ooooh... that's interesting. You've had somethings crawling around in your head before. Four of them! Wow. They must have had something special in mind for you to draw that kind of attention. But now you're free of them! That's good! I can't allow such interlopers to threaten the integrity of the Nexus."

Circling. Stalking. Watching. Considering.

"Your friend is host to only one. At least I assume she's your friend. Acquaintance maybe? Subject? She's made some new friends here in the Nexus already. And they're trying desperately to free her of the being's influence. But they could probably use some help. Maybe that's why you're here?"

[Main Cabin]

Freddie flees, the pony is alone.
This is a development that Luna appreciates only faintly. Being alone is something she's used to.

Since her shield seems to be accomplishing a lot of nothing, it is for the best that the huldra fled.
She shouldn't have expected much of a different reaction, from her initial impressions. Her magic is likely to accomplish little in this situation no matter how she tries to manipulate it.

A consequence of being alone.

Luna bristles, her billowing mane sharpening and flaring about her head as a small storm of magical energy crackles around her horn.
"Speak not of Twilight and stay out of my head, abomination!"
Empty rage, what can she do? This is going to end up like before, but worse.
Why did Celestia trust her with this?


No.
Not again.
Her magic crackles before wrenching at her body, a teleportation.
But unlike Twilight, magically popping from one spot to the other, this spell seems to be more primitive, breaking the body into fundamental components for nigh-instantaneous transportation to another location.

Rather painful, generally, but less likely to be hijacked as she seeks to move her divine self out of this place.
Probably off Outside somewhere.

A plotclone of Quinn can be found doing paperwork in the Infirmary.

[Jamie's Garden]

Jamie looks up in surprise as suddenly the garden is stampeded!
And she waves happily. "Oh, hi Natalie! Hi, Rainbow, it's nice to meet you...Hi, Salix! And..."

The Magical Girl then blinks as she looks at Vasilisa.
Then scrambles to her feet. Dusts her knees quickly. And curtseys.
"It's an honor to meet you, Milady."

Jamie's Garden

"Oh don't be silly dear. I'm just Vasilisa." Vasi says to Jamie. She is only one third of a goddess after all, and that third is only a little bit active. "I joined GLoG some years back, at the old base, but I've been away in Felina raising my family since."

It might be noted that Vasi has rather a lot of dirt and grass stains on her as well. And she intends to get more as she sits down on the ground to look closer at Jamie's garden. "Salix wants to look at your garden. She has a knack for growing things."

[Earl of Purple]

Jamie's Garden

"Rainbow would like to see your garden, too." Natalie says.

Oddball is cautiously approaching Vasilisa, wondering why Jamie curtsied to her.

"Oh. My bad."
Rainbow smiles.
"Yes, I'd love to see your garden, Jamie."^-^
She does enjoy gardening!

Salix gives Jamie a funny look when she curtsies. She has no idea what that's supposed to mean. It doesn't matter though. "Yeah, I wanna help with the garden. I'm good at making stuff grow." She says with a bright smile.

"Oh. My apologies, ma'am," Jamie says, still formal. But she smiles. "Really? Well, I just got done weeding. I have some corn and pumpkins growing here..."

Paperwork isn't very exciting.

Freddie suddenly barging in is!

"Quinn!" the Huldra calls out frantically. "Some sort of weird unicorn popped into the lodge and started yelling about leaders and then this creepy voice started talking out of nowhere and Mrs Applehill ran off into the woods and I don't know if those things are still in there!"

Breeeeeeaaath!

"You should probably check it out! I'm not sure if I can handle this on my own."

Rainbow will step delicately to the pumpkins!
"Pumpkins! I used to grow a bunch of these back at the academy..."
An academy for monsters did go through ton of pumpkins!

"You should probably check it out! I'm not sure if I can handle this on my own."

Quinn blinks in surprise, and then interjects when Freddie finally stops to breath!
"Um, a who in the what now?" she asks, as she stands, to investigate!

Rainbow will step delicately to the pumpkins!
"Pumpkins! I used to grow a bunch of these back at the academy..."

"What academy?" Jamie asks curiously.

Salix peers at the corn and pumpkins. "What're those for?" She asks curiously, moving closer to them. She's never seen these specific plants before.

Pumpkins? Tito is not going to like Jamie's garden when fall comes and the pumpkins get big.

"Mmm... pumpkin pie is delicious," Vasi says. Then to Salix, "These are different kinds of food, but they aren't finished growing yet."

Rainbow looks up.
"It was the Yokai Academy. Why?"

Freddie will lead Quinn back to the main cabin where they will find-!

Nothing out of the ordinary.

No loud ponies.

No scary voices.

No hypernatural monsters.

Just the lodge.

Freddie blinks. "They were here before, I swear!"

Oddball is nearing Vasilisa's foot, and tentatively sniffs it.

"Jamie, are there any shops around that sell clothing that change with a shapeshifter?" Hopefully Natalie isn't being too distracted, but she's wanted to ask this for a while.

Vasilisa's foot smells like she's been tromping around in the woods with a dryad. Also smells of catgirl.

"Oh, the Needle and Thread might!" she tells Natalie.

Freddie will lead Quinn back to the main cabin where they will find-!

Freddie blinks. "They were here before, I swear!"

"...were these, by any chance, Far monsters?" Quinn asks, quirking an eyebrow.

A letter will *POP!* into existance in front of Darcy, and begin to float to the ground slowly.

She may recognize the *POP!*

[Jamie's Garden]

"Oh okay." Salix pokes at one of the pumpkin plants. She runs her fingers over its leaves. Gradually the plant seems to grow more lively and healthy right before their eyes.

"Oh."
She stares intently at the pumpkin plant before getting up.
"So do you ever grow anything other than corn and pumpkins?"

Jamie's Garden

Oddball is satisfied with his inspection of Vasilisa and goes over to Salix. He'll sit next to her foot.

"Oh, thank you. Um, where is it?" Natalie really doesn't want to go without Jamie; she might get lost, as she's only a visitor and doesn't live in the Nexus.

[Jamie's Garden]

Jamie looks on in surprise, some awe, and a little bit of jealousy as Salix gets her plants to grow!

"Oh, absolutely - we grow everything! Except onions," she tells Rainbow, before smiling at Natalie. "Um, when we're done here I can take you there!"

[Jamie's Garden]

The little dryad gives the same treatment to a few other plants. Then she turns to those present with a big smile on her face. "Hey Jamie? Is this helping?" She points at the plants.

A letter will *POP!* into existance in front of Darcy, and begin to float to the ground slowly.

She may recognize the *POP!*

Darcy catches and opens the letter, finding the *POP* vaguely familiar, but not recalling where or why.

"Why not onions?"

Jamie's Garden

"Thank you." Natalie smiles. She also tries to see if there's anywhere she can sit down; if there's no specialised seating available she'll sit on the ground or a rock.

Oddball is chasing after Salix's feet, as she's apparently still moving. He wants to say hello. Or oddish; one or the other.
