I assumed hour tales just didn't push himself. With 3 dice, the safer bet seems wiser.

We have another really exciting series of rounds. It was looking really strong for Laughs, as he began to make really good gain on the Stag. However 8 rounds of pushing himself this hard finally catches up, and he stalls out. With laughs having to catch his breath for a moment, Soft Paws takes the lead. Now with control of the Stag chase, she steers it sideways where it leads into Hour tales path.

Currently the Stag is 386 yards away from Hour Tales, but soft Paws will chase the Stag right to him. Thus their distance can be combined, and in 3 rounds of running the two wolves and the stag collide.

Assuming Hour Tales continues to run steady, I need 3 rounds of rolls from Laughs. If Soft Paws chooses to push herself to help keep laughs at bay, she too will need 3 rounds of rolls.

In addition, attack rolls for a bite and damage dice need to be rolled for everyone in the north. Obviously when they collide, Hour Tales and Soft Paws will bit the Stag. Theoretically Laughs could also steal the kill in various ways.


And in case you were wondering, Angel Avenges won the hunt in the East. BananaPhone and I rolled over skype.

No. Laughs wanted this win. He had put a lot on the line this night, and he wanted the glory of the kill. He charged in.

Lunging into the fray, the red Talon goes for the Stags throat. With a powerful bite, he rips the spirit's throat out and it dies. The power of the spirit enters into Laughs, granting him the reward. Small amounts of the power linger and enter Soft Paws & Hour Tales.

Hour Tales gives a quick and short howl to congratulate Laughs, but can't quite resist a short jab at his packmate. "Had to go and steal it from us, eh?" he gives a playful chuckling noise as he grabs the stag's leg and begins to pull at it.

To keep thiings moving, I was having hour tales not push himself. Thus he still moved, but didnt burn out. Soft Paws drove the Stag between the two of you so your movement combined to take it down, but the two of you failed to kill the stag with your bites. Then laughs lunged in and stole it.

Hopefully that fixes any confusion on that matter

Softpaws shakes her body. It had been a while since she had last run like that... It felt good, like freedom. Unfortunately, the moment was over. She looks pointedly at Hour Tales and then trots off, back to the center of the moot. Unless the hunters are supposed to return with the kill, in which case she helps drag the stag back.

Laughs was grinning ear to ear at first, but Hours' jab did reach. It made the smile go away and he became more thoughtful. Realizing he hadn't announced his victory he tilting his head back and howled, though it was not with the enthusiasm it would have been moments ago. "You two worked together, didn't you?" It wasn't as much of a questions as he was letting on. He leaned in closer, and spoke quietly. "When trying to bring others over, focus on Spraycan, she doesn't care for the Shadow Lord. Expect Trashcan Sam to be angry with you, he's treated your actions as a betrayal. Three legs himself has had his pride wounded once tonight, and the other Lords circle around him in defense. Hope this helps."

Hour Tales listens to Laugh's advice and nods at it. He hadn't meant for the jab to land so hard, however, meaning it only as a joke to be shared later.

Returning to the place of start, everyone shifts back into the physical realm. Sensing the effect on gnosis on all three of you, you are asked "Which one of you won the hunt? Or did you work together?"

Softpaws indicates Laughs with her nose. "He killed the stag," she says simply. The Metis stays in Lupus and melts into the crowd if she can.

Soft Paws is stopped before she can slink away. "But you two also smell of the stag. I take it you were all able to catch it then?"

"Y-yes, I lead the stag to Hour Tales. But Laughs at Blood landed the killing blow."

"The three of caught the stag together," barked Laughs. He gave Softpaws a knowing look, then smiled.

As runners up in the hunt, each character gets to choose from a collection of boxes that contain prizes.

Soft Paws chooses a small red box with a pretty ribbon. Inside she finds a small blue vial that looks like perfume. The elders explain to her that it is a talon called Night Shade. (Core book 303).

Laughs opens a slightly bigger box, not decorated with anything. However to his surprise, there is nothing in the box. With a laugh, one of the elders explains it is a auspice fetish. So it will only work for a Ragabash. (Or nuwisha and Corax a Galliard adds).

The McGuffin
Level 3, Gnosis 7
When activated, the McGuffin immediately causes everyone who see's it within the day to develop a intense desire to own the McGuffin. People so affected must make a willpower roll (Difficulty 7) to avoid doing everything in their power to posses the McGuffin. These desires last for one week. The ragabash and his pack are not immune to these desires, so the McGuffin must always be placed very carefully.

Lifa over hears Angel Avenges telling the elders of how Lifa nearly won the hunt, having been on her heels the entire time. Within a few minutes, a elder hands her a small blue box. Inside is a pouch of dust. The elder tells you the dust is a talon that can be put in any pool of liquid to create a vision pool.
(It can be found on page 74 of Hammer & Klaive)

To Laughs, Hour Tales and Soft Paws; the elders tell you that 'your prizes were chosen by the spirits. They may fit you, or they may not. But the spirits may call upon you to share or trade among each other. Your victory was shared, and so may be your prizes.'

Jason picks another small box, this one wrapped in newspaper comics. Inside is a 'lucky rabbits rabbits foot' that he see's at gas stations all the time. For some reason, this one has been died green. The elder explains what it does.

It can be activated once per day. When activated, the user regains all rage points. However they are forced to make a frenzy check (difficulty 5). This fetish is bound with a spirit of war.
