Re: Megadungeon A-II (IC)
DM
"Snozborb."
The creature considers this business plan. "I don't know if you'll find many trolls or hydras willing to sell their organs, tho'. Aside from that, great plan!"
Then there's a door at the end of the hallway! Snozborb directs Chainsy to try the door; it's stuck. "Pretty sure it's this way." Snozborb directs Chainsy to break the door down, so the chain-monster begins smashing into the door.

Re: Megadungeon A-II (IC)
DM
Together, Kataun and Chainsy bash repeatedly against the door! It... luckily does not attract unwanted attention.
Soon, they come to another door! This one isn't stuck so much as it is locked. Chainsy and Kataun bash it down, too.
The room beyond is huge! A vast, echoing dwarven chamber, so big that Kataun's light entirely fails to illuminate the whole thing, studded with pillars, with a dirt floor. Scattered around are some money and gems, ancient musical instruments and board games, and other assorted burial goods.
There are three obvious exits: two doors to the north, with ancient dwarven runes carved into them, and a door to the southwest. Chainsy and Snozborb hesitate. "Now, I'm not absolutely certain about the layout of these tombs..."

Kataun Yriand
Mr Red trots into the room. "Well, if you don't know...maybe we should go try that door to the west first. That one doesn't have those squigles around it like the other two. Squigles might be bad thing. I reckon there's less chance of that one being bad." Kataun stops for a moment to see if the Chainsy is following him.
SpoilerWalk into the room, wait a bit to see if anything happens, and if nothing happens and the Imp and Chain Monster is following...head towards the west door.

The floor doesn't erupt in zombies or anything. Chainsy and Snozborb follow Kataun to the west door! The door... is not locked! It opens easily, revealing a hallway! The hallway fades into darkness straight ahead. To the left, the hallway also continues, slightly wider, lined with exceptionally beautiful sculptures (not depicted on the map). Amidst the sculptures, Kataun sees several skeletons milling about.

"More west, I guess?" Mr Red looks back at Snozborb and keeps going, waving at the skeletons, "Just passing through. Nothing to see here. Maybe we'll have tea sometime."
SpoilerUnless Snozborb stops him, Kataun moves forward, but at the pace of the Chainsy (Not sure how fast he moves).

This time, Kataun slams the book right out of Gasket's hands and onto the floor. No longer having the book in her hands rouses the engineer from her reverie. She is no longer afflicted with the burning need to continue reading the fiendish tome.

Gasket, what was the book about? Was it interesting? Did you learn any powers beyond the ken of mere mortals?

The book was about something indescribably distasteful. You may fill in the details, if you'd like -- if anybody else were to read it, they would find different details.

Gasket
"Ugh, don't remind me. The only thing beyond the ken of mere mortals was the disgust it caused me reading it, but for some gorram reason I could not stop reading it. Thanks, by the way."
"Burn it ? No, I think we should find someone who knows how to dispose of such dangerous objects safely. If just reading it can be a pain, imagine trying to destroy it. I'd suggest wrapping it in a bedroll, just to be on the safe side and then ask around for an expert on such manners."
Spoiler: Everybody can read thisOf course, we could also wait until Gasket reaches level 5 and attempt to retain it's essence, though that's kinda silly.**** Photobucket ; RIP avatars

"If it is part of the Evil Encyclopaedia of Evil then there's a 1000gp reward on offer at the temple of Quasxthe, though I'm not sure handing the book over to them would be such a great idea. The Monastery of Numiel at Perch Hill also said something about a reward for bringing them a copy. Maybe that would be a better suggestion?"

Mr. Red eyes the pile of copper. "That's still...", eyeballing, "about 280 pounds of copper. I can't carry'em. Needs two hands for my weapon. You are more than welcomed to try but eh, you are going to have to invoke some magical servant or something."

Re: Megadungeon A-II (IC)
We may be able to find a way to carry all of these coins in one trip, but that still leaves the weapons and other items I have found and organized in other rooms in the tomb, which are both heavier and (hopefully) more valuable than copper coins.
I personally think we should just take multiple trips back to the surface. That way we can make sure we don't leave anything behind when we leave for the night. I mean, I don't THINK anyone else will explore this tomb tonight while we're gone, but no sense taking that risk.

Re: Megadungeon A-II (IC)
DM
Gasket is able to MacGyver a sort of stretcher for the copper. With the coins heaped onto it, it should effectively allow two characters to pool their Lift Off Ground limits and apply it to the coins, or else allow one character to apply their Push/Drag limit to the coins (albeit not up the stairs).

Elian
Elian lifts the other end of the "stretcher" and helps Kataun carry it out, through the big room, into the hallway. Once in the hallway he tells Kataun to pause so he can put the stretcher down, and adds the 5 scimitars and 5 heavy steel shields to the pile. Turning around, he looked mournfully back in the big room, then brightened
Hey, I have an idea! Kataun, I want you to wait here by the door. Once everyone leaves this big room, I'm going to go try and take that nice-lloking buckler over there. I'm sure that's going to make these skeletons pop out, but that should take awhile, shouldn't it? I figure if I grab it then run like heck I can make it to the door before they get out, and then you slam it shut behind me!
Sounds like a good idea? Or suicide?
