That was in Dunedin. The mother was an ex-girlfriend from Nelson. Last I heard from her she went back there and was working in The Warehouse after she got out of prison. She was found not guilty of the serious charges, but was found guilty of the charge of "Being silly enough to put yourself and your child into the power of an irresponsible violent sociopath", obviously paraphrased.

Worst thing is that I should have remembered that date, given that her original labour was brought on by myself and a friend recording a bass-heavy song in the next room that night.

Yeah, got to love the New Zealand legal system and it's stupid, twisted laws.
Just like me almost being arrested when my ex-fiance was beating the s^%t out of me one night... I was the one who called the cops. I was the one who was bleeding and had bruises all over my body and our flatmates even told the cops it was her (like always). All she had on her was a couple of red marks on her wrists where I had grabbed hold of her to try and stop her from hitting me... Wasn't until I said to one of my flatmates that I'd give him a call the next day when I was released to come pick me up and she launched into another attack and I just put my arms over my head and dropped down into the fetal position that the cops believed me .

I've still got 12 HP... and a wand, so if worst comes to worst, I can unload some personal healing. If we can dish out some good damage, this batte might end quickly. (but with those rolls, I might be being a little optimistic)

@D_Man: Yeah, I thought you would have used the wand this turn (though I thought you were lower on hit points). I think probably another round or two after this one to finish it. By my reckoning all the Orcs are injured, but the Great Axe Orc and the Hammer Orc won't go down easily.

I can't help but notice that Drayner seems to be our most consistant damage-dealer today. Probably because the rest of us are dependant on getting semi-decent rolls, where a Warlock just needs not-terrible rolls.

What about me? I'm always guaranteed a hit, I don't even have to use an attack roll. Even better, I get to use 1d4; the pointiest dice of them all!
