It's still moving actually... Just in fits and starts.
For OOC knowledge only: The shuddering is being caused by the damaged second basket catching on the wall of the shaft.
The pattern seems to be about 20-30 second intervals between each lurch of the basket.

Hey-a folks! So my class is going to be taking us on a field trip to a National Park way deep in the middle of nowhere for the next 5 days, and supposedly there's little to no internet there. As such, I probably won't be able to post until Friday/Saturday, so if anyone wants to take charge of Eleanora until then, that would be awesome.

@Malak'ai: I'm a little confused... Is this what happened? We all got in, Raif pushed a lever, we went down, the screeching noise started, we passed another lift cage, Raif pushed the lever back, we started climbing again. Are we now back to where we were?

You got in, Raif pulled the lever, you went down, the screeching started and you found out it was caused to by the other cage that had been damaged so badly bars and framework were grinding against the stone as it went past you, Raif pushed the lever back the other way, you started going up in fits and starts.
You are currently still "going up" but are in one of the lulls before the next lurch.

We probably should use the OC to get all of us on the same page regarding the lift, before we try to work it out in the IC.

Shall we take the lift back to the top, leave a rope to get back up in case the lift fails, then take the lift back down? Or do something else?
