A 2nd ed Fire wall use.
Hi all
Just wanted to throw this one out here to see what everyone thinks about my fire wall idea.
The idea is this. I want to make a 2 ring fire wall. What I want to do it is make a 10' radius circle but not close the ring then the fire wall extends 5 to 10feet to the second figurative 15 or 20 foot non closed radius. The opening that I wanted to make was about 4-6 inches. The reason that I don't want to close the radius is so it remains a continous wall.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks

Re: A 2nd ed Fire wall use.
This one calls for a DM ruling, since it does not fit the spell description. I would disallow it for Wall of Fire, which calls for a sheet or a ring. But I would allow you to develop a new 4th level spell called Rings of Fire. It would be easier to research if you already know Wall of Fire.
Your DM may think differently.

Re: A 2nd ed Fire wall use.
It sounds like you need to do some spell research for your Torus of Fire.
You need to discuss this with your DM but it sounds close to reasonable.
My thoughts on expanding Wall of Fire
Conic Section of Fire should be easy-ish because Lines and Circles are Conic Sections. Its a bit dull though.
Spiral of Fire should also be easy-ish, and has a certain something about it.
Torus of Fire would probably be harder than these.π = 4
Consider a 5' radius blast: this affects 4 squares which have a circumference of 40' — Actually it's worse than that.
