One of the demons lets out a piercing howl as a shard digs into its arm. The other snarls as it feels the shard whip past its head.

The Demon seems unfazed by your attacks. It bellows a challenge that weakens a bit as it is slammed from behind. With a snarl it turns back to face Barty again.

OoC: Can't really make out where we are in the initiative order at the moment so I'll post Kieran's action.

As soon as Kieran appreciates the situation he is all business.

'Vent the gas, and drop us tae about a hundred feet.

Lookouts, get armed. I want ten men with muskets at the railings, ready tae fire by rounds'.

Kieran rests a hand on Aimari's shoulder.

'Looks like we may have need o' yer hate...'

How quickly do you want to descend? You will be able to reach the geound in five rounds at a decent but safe pace. You can go a bit faster and reach your target elevation in three rounds, or you go recklessly and reach it in two rounds.

Also, it is Erin's initiative.

@Lentrax: we'll try to reach the elevation in 3 rounds - fast, but not too hasty. We're aiming to be low enough that we can make ranged attacks, but still airbourne, so we don't have to take off again, and avoid navigation hazards. We definitely don't want to land. 60-100ft up, I guess.

Gas starts hissing from the balloons, and a few of the spells cast on the balloons were used to help descend quickly enough.

"See the Lady's Gambit. That ship up there? Our allies are come to our aid. Too bad I'll see you foul creatures roasted alive first."

Erin moves towards the demons, strapping on his shield with a practiced ease. Then he lets loose with a raging blast of fire.

I've asked a few times about the old wounds from the previous battle and the number of rounds after I switched Auras and seen no answer. So at the moment I don't know where my hit points should be at.

You were at half hp at start of this combat. I am not sure who was the most injured when the CLW was cast. Most likely Erin, who I believe has the lowest hp total amongst the current wounded?

The fire plays over the demons, but you cannot smell burning flesh. They keep moving, advancing towards you at their slow ponderous pace.

Summoning elemental air into his hand Bellamy moves to intersect the line that the demons are charging through. He forces the air into a powerful wind that blasts out to stop them from reaching us. The hat that he had dropped earlier is picked up by the vortex and hurled off into the darkness, "Oh no, not another one."

Move to G10 and unleash Gust of Wind (DC 15 Fortitude save to negate) at the southernmost demon in the east group (assuming north is up map) currently at L8. This lasts for a full round and should hopefully prevent demon 4 from moving and demon 3 from passing through the line between G10 and R1 (or thereabouts). That should allow us to concentrate on fighting demons 1 and 2

Responding to Bell's whistle Bruce leaps forward to land behind him and attack demon 1 on the flank.

"I have nothing with sufficient range to aid from here. I could drop down to get in close, it would be simple to land safely," she replies.

The Demon opens its mouth to howl again, but as it does so, the shaft of an arrow blossoms in its gaping maw.

With a howl of pain, the black thing crumples to the ground, showing no signs of movement.

Melanie, your turn.

"Grym!" Melanie cries out as her friend drops to one knee. "Stop." Light crackles around her hands. Hurting. Shards of razor crystal dropping easily into her waiting fingers. "My." Her hands slam forwards, light exploding around her - a wisp of it reaching out to wrap around Grym as she faces the two currently untouched oncoming demons. "Friends!"

Light blazes, lifting the shards aloft, and sends them hurtling across the distance between her and her target.

The demon howls with pain as one of the shards drives deep into its gut. Bright orange blood spurts from the wound to stain the sands a golden color. But it still stands, and continues trying to move against the wind pushing it back.

Grym smiles briefly as she hears Melanie yell out. She was hurting, but she wasn't dead yet. She remembered something Anna had said during one of their many mock battles, "Remember, when the odds are against you it's okay to retreat." Grym slowly gets up and smiles at the demon as she retreats.

"Look out for the Gust of Wind spell!" Bellamy yells as Erin moves towards the spell effect that he conjured only seconds ago.

Larry distracts the foul demon long enough for Barty to get a good solid swing at the thing. But as the curved blade cuts into the demon, it spasms in pain, causing what would have been a clean decapitation into a plain old very deep neck wound. With a gurgling that was pronably meant to be a howl, the demon collapses.

Meanwhile, Erin, having hurled a small bead at the demons, yells out about the approach of the others, a small explosion engulfs the demons, but as before, they show no response to the flames, just moving forward again.

Map updated. So that brings us back around to Bruce and Bellamy.

Bellamy sprints towards Grym with a short instruction to Bruce to guard his back. His little legs pound across the 30 feet. Once he arrives he activates his healing belt to (hopefully) remove Grym's injuries.
