    As far as I know, Terry should have all the text ready for the starting post. So my guess is he's either busy, lazy, or waiting for someone (probably Zarah). Haven't been able to catch him in a couple of days.

    Hi all, a very belated "I'm still here!" from Keveak. ^_^

    I apologise for not being around for a long time, but I got horribly behind after a six-day school trip to Dublin, for which I apologise. m(_ _)m

    I will try to have a few characters I have planned up this week and add any of them and my previous character to the registry and wiki ASAP. I will hopefully not end up too similar to any character I had to skim while catching up, but feel free to tell me if I do.

    I vote androgynous/genderless for Li too, in case more votes are needed. :3

    Considering jumping back into this insanity. Hello, for those who remember me. Nice to meet you, to those who don't. It's been a while. Bleachitp, the original original game, helped me grow as a writer and a roleplayer; Those have been absent from my life since I entered university. Now that I'm adjusted, I'm finding a lot of free time for something like this.

    As for my character, (going off of the registry here) there doesn't seem to be anyone in the Internal Security division. Could I head that? I was thinking of a war-time shinigami who rules with an iron fist. Someone who understands that desperate times call for desperate measures, and that ideas such as "freedom" are a luxury in a time of war. A potential plot hook might be the mysterious "disappearance" of the last captain after the war took place.

    His Zanpaktou's special ability would allow him to monitor his surroundings, basically creating a map that he could use to locate shinigami, hollows, etc. He could then teleport himself to these locations, based on the coordinates. He could also send kido through the map to the coordinates, essentially giving him a long range yet innacurate method of combat.

    If the registry is in fact outdated (though the last updated was a day after the last post in the thread) and a captain exists for this position I'll think of something else.

    Shades of Gray: Welcome! The registry is up-to-date regarding characters who've been posted there. Some are missing, because their players haven't done that yet.

    Earlier, Zarah expressed interest in leading Int Sec, and made a Captain for it. However, he hasn't been around since, and has not replied to my PM (it's been a few weeks).

    You could try contacting him, and failing that, go ahead and make your character, with Zarah's character filling the role of the "missing Captain". The character can be found earlier in this thread.

    Though by no means a body-builder, Rin has a roughed look and posture that suggests that any fight would not end well for the attacker. Rin's larger than average height only add to this impression.

    Though Rin's black hair is long enough to be somewhat impractical, it is kept as well tied back as possible, Rin valuing spartan solutions far above aesthetics. This does make the fact that Rin always keep one eye covered quite obvious, however. Whether it is due to dark glasses or eye-patches, only Rin's left eye is ever seen.

    Apart from hiding one eye, Rin does not appear substantially abnormal. The part-time security guard usually wears exactly the pragmatic clothing that would be expect of the job, simple and durable if not very remarkable. At best, Rin's casual wear can give an impression of Rin being a sleuth detective from old American cinema.

    Rin is intelligent, but prefers to tackle problems head on and avoids subtlety and elegance as if they were deadly diseases. Paradoxically, Rin is much irritated when this approach is assumed to be a sign of simple-mindedness. Though quite uninterested in socialising, Rin is well-educated and applies the aggressive approach to both the obvious areas in work, but also in areas as odd as literature.

    Rin is not often one to show emotions, but is very much emphatic towards others, if more able to show it through shouts of encouragement than gentle therapy. Rin is eager to stand up for friends and the unfortunate, even if Rin's sense of justice may be considered old-fashioned.

    Though born to an average family with little spiritual history, Rin was able to see spirits at an early age. Lucky enough to evade the attention of Hollows, Rin was not much troubled by this ability, being caught up much more in disagreement with a family that valued the traditional roles of femininity over Rin's stubbornness and competitiveness. Eventually, Rin's positive grades managed to cease the conflict, leaving only the odd beings that only Rin seemed to see a problem. meeting no other mortal with spiritual power, Rin treated them as mere hallucinations. Hallucinations that seemed to only appear to her right eye. Not caring for odd looks, Rin took to covering the eye as often as possible, eventually forgetting the spirits altogether.

    That is, until now. Moving to a new city always brings changes, but Rin certainly did not expect to find the supernatural.

    Rin works as a security guard for various employers in the area, most recently getting a job at a museum located near the school area. Fitting this career, Rin has reasonable skills at hand-to.hand combat, though nothing near professional martial arts or Shinigami level.

    Rin is well-educated and skilled at research, though no professional detective by any means.

    Though inexperienced, Rin has the ability to see spirits and has a remarkable resistance to their powers. though far from immune to Kido or Hollow powers, Rin has a much better chance at surviving large spiritual attacks or shrug of minor ones.

    So, I know Horngeek was expressing interest in playing the captain of the recon division. And with my character being the vice-captain, I went ahead and said I was fine with that.

    But, I really haven't seen any sign of Horngeek recently. And with the game starting now, I'm wondering if I should go ahead and at the very least, do a write up of the recon division.

    Now, I don't want to make Horngeek feel like he's being kicked out of it or something. And if he hasn't been posting because of things going on in his life, I completely understand that. But, I'm kinda getting a little anxious about how long it may be before he returns.

    So, do you guys think I should do a write up for recon? Just to have one?

    Go for it. I was under the impression that Zarah was the Captain of the Internal Affairs Division as well but...did Shades of Gray take it over?

    Zarah is the mysterious missing captain. We do this a lot actually, if a player doesn't play for months at a time - make them go "AWOL" and replace them for a bit.

    Okay, here's the write up for Recon. Thought I should let you guys check it out before I toss it into the character registry.

    The Reconnaissance Division: The First Line Against Hollows

    Even since the members of the Soul Society started their eternal hunt of Hollows, a portion of them have been devoted to the simple act of patrol. Patrolling their own borders for brave Hollows that want to take the fight to them. Patrolling the Mortal World to prevent the mortals from being attacked. Even patrolling some parts of Hueco Mundo to have an eye on the Hollows themselves. This is something that, to any kind of strategist, is as obvious and necessary as looking where one is walking.

    However, in the beginning, the various divisions seemed to share these duties with each other, using whomever was available for the task. For the most part, this worked fine. But when each division started becoming more specialized, they started having more strict requirements in who was accepted. And the people that qualified had skills that were more suited for a specific task, instead of multiple tasks. As such, fewer Shinigami could spend time in their division's work and do the patrol work needed. So, the Reconnaissance division was created, for those who would spend all of their working time patrolling for Hollows.

    In addition to the patrols, Recon members are also trained in the act of performing a Soul Burial. As they are the Shinigami who are the most frequent visitors to the Mortal World and Hueco Mundo, this only makes sense.

    The members of the division are broken into a large number of patrol teams, which can range in size from four people to a hundred. Sometimes more. Each team is assigned to a specific area of either the Soul Society, the Mortal World, or Hueco Mundo. Three teams of twenty people are also located on the grounds of the division itself, ready to use if another team requires assistance. Each team is lead by a seated officer, with the higher ranking ones leading the larger teams. Or the ones in more difficult locations The captain is most often in the division headquarters, overseeing team activities. The vice-captain is often out in the field, checking on any team at any time.

    At times, teams may be switched from one location to another, if people in their specific team are needed for a certain mission. Usually, however, a team is left in their assigned location at all times. This is so they become familiar with the area, and can learn of any hidden spots or shortcuts or anything else that isn't immediately obvious. Members of a team can request to be switched to another area, if they so wish. Such requests will need to be approved by either both team leaders or the captain.

    Every team member possesses a Reiphone. This is so every member can report any Hollow activity to their team leader, the vice-captain, the captain, or even Headquarters itself, if they have to. This also allows the captain, the vice-captain, and the team leaders to keep track of where their members are. The phones are password protected, so that of they fall into the wrong hands, they cannot be used. The captain and vice-captain's passwords can unlock any phone. As can the Commander-General.

    Team members get a number of days off patrol duty, being allowed to return to the Soul Society for rest and recreation. A team member can refuse this if they want.

    Locations

    Recon Headquarters - This where the captain and vice-captain reside. Besides their quarters, the building also possesses several offices, most commonly used for planning specific missions. The basement of this building holds the main control room. From here, the captain can track all Reiphone locations and communications. There is always a team of ten people in this room, tracking everything they can. This allows for some quick thinking and reaction to various scenarios, and gives every team a source of support from outside of their area. This building is also where team meetings are held.

    Communications Tower - This structure is almost an exact copy of the one at the Command Division, and serves the same purpose. It is connected to the headquarters building, directly feeding into the mission control room in the basement.

    Training Grounds - Located to the west of the headquarters some 300 yards, the training grounds have been built specifically for training skills used by recon teams. Not only does it have two traditional obstacles courses of decent size, the grounds also have a small city area, for training various Mortal World scenarios. There is also a small wooded area, with many traps and obstacles set for training as well. There is even an area devoid of almost all obstacles, left with only sand and rocks. For Hueco Mundo training. It is not uncommon for the Guerrilla Squad of the Combat Corps to hold a training session here. Or for them to hold one with Recon members.

    Barracks - These buildings house the rooms that members sleep in. Members of the same team are usually roomed near each other. This helps keep them friendly with each other. For team-building purposes. Each building has a common area and its own mess hall.

    Ranks

    Captain - The leader of the division. The captain has to approve of any mission a team requests before a team is allowed to execute it. The captain is not often in the field. They mostly spend their time in the control room, keeping track of the teams. The captain will go out on patrol from time to time, though. Mostly to keep their skills sharp.

    Vice-Captain - The vice-captain's main responsibility is to randomly check up on teams, making sure they are following the mission, or checking if they need assistance. In certain scenarios, the vice-captain will join the captain in the control room to oversee operations.

    Seated Officers - These members of the division lead every team. The number of seated officers in the division largely depends on the number of teams currently active. Officers of higher rank will lead either larger teams, or teams in more dangerous areas, such as Hueco Mundo.

    Unseated Members - These members make up the bulk of the teams. Newer members will be assigned to teams in areas with the least amount of activity. Veteran members will usually be assigned to more dangerous areas.

    Mortal world seems to be dragging on a bit. If you all like I can send one or more of Hades's hollows out to give people a chance to stretch their characters and go "Hey you can see ghosts too? Sweet! Let's be ghostbusters! Dibs on Venkman!"

    Soul Society has the captains' meeting in full swing, but all the other characters seem to be at a standstill.

    Mahonri_Violist: If you're waiting on a gatekeeper character you'll likely be waiting a long time as no one's made one. My suggestion would be to play out the necessary NPC's until you get to a point where you can actually interact with another character. Alternatively, you could show up at the Combat Corps grounds just "freshly assigned."

    I'm not exactly sure what to do with the class Higure is teaching, so some sort of interruption may be helpful, if that's what you were talking about.

    It isn't a "waiting for a gatekeeper character" as much as it's a "waiting for me to ace my tests this week" sort of deal.

    Since I don't like roleplaying with myself (It's so boring! I know all the moves that I'm going to do before hand! I just as well write a book.), I'll just skip that part for now, and she shows up at the Combat Corps ground just as soon as I can post.


    I'm all for interrupting the Physics class with a fight. It'll be very dramatic storytelling. Miya won't be much of a threat in this, though, since she won't recognize her Fullbringer powers until after her mother comes and attacks as a hollow.

    Ya, unlike Soul Society and Hueco Mundo the Mortal World doesn't have an organization outside the school as a linking point for characters built in.

    Edit: I still wouldn't be opposed to a hollow attack though. Kick things off with a bang.

    I'm sure the MW portion will be more active once a hollow or two enters the scene.

    Wow, things are going quickly around here. I assume the lack of objection means Rin is acceptable? I apologise for not getting the other characters I mentioned up yet, but I shall move Rin and Alice to the registry as soon as possible if they are both accepted.

    I will get around to posting In Character next week, but feel free to poke me if any of you think Alice or Rin would fit well in a scene. ^_^

    No. No Hollow Attack. Half the cast isn't even there, there is no set plot, no character interaction set up, and I haven't even told you what the school is about. The Hollow Attack has now thrown off half of my plans because you know, you didn't want to wait.

    Yes, Soul Society started with intrigue, and Hueco Mundo started out interesting as well - Mortal World is always the slowest to start, because all the characters have to meet and interact first.

    Do you want to know how long it took to get to Hollow Attack last game?

    THREE MONTHS OF INTERACTION. Three months of character development and beginning to understand each other's characters, because that's goddamn important for the main cast.

    Kill the Hollow Attack. Have it be a scouting run, have the reiatsu vanish I don't care. Just stop trying to launch fight scenes with characters who have never even SPOKEN BEFORE

    EDIT: Also, Frozen is in FINLAND. You have to wait more then TWO HOURS FOR HIM TO RESPOND

    Well It doesn't have to take forever. Plus the last bleach game didn't work out so well. There is nothing saying that character interaction can't happen along with action. Heck it would probably give most of the characters a reason to interact.

    Why does the mortal world have to be the slowest? Why is the character interaction so detrimental to it but not to the others? Why is it so goddam important for the main cast of the mortal world but not the others? Plus as far as I know there has only been one bleach game that the mortal world as a factor. So how is the mortal world always being the slowest to start a thing? The last game should not have that much of an impact on this game. After all this isn't set in Phoenix town.
