Change is exciting. Lots of delicious feelings and opportunities, and of course the pace of life here is so fast, so there's sure to be something.

I'm pretty sure he actually wasn't, but that's okay.
"Why not? Surely there's nothing that could be a danger to you as you are now. It's only a city, right? I've only really heard the name, but people used it like a city."

That reminds me I need to refine the details of how we planned to cutscene/handwave the Genesis/Naethalee scene that is supposed to end with Naethalee becoming rather like Genesis...

"Not at all! I guess I should have? Vann never told me of any such person. Who is he?" She sounds honestly confused.

"He's a cyborg and leader of AMEN. I think. One of the big bad evil guys," Mikani explains. "...also he tends to have amusing horrible things happen to him. Like infestations of goats."

Anchor pauses for a moment. "I would ask what AMEN is, but I'm feeling there's a whole world here I don't know about. I'll look into it in a bit. Thanks for letting me know."

"Yeah, they talk a lot." Salix says, nodding. "Not like people do, but they have words for all kinds of stuff. They use their ears and stuff too. Like this." She holds her arms up by her head like a pair of ears and moves them around a bit.

"You should avoid the wildlife even if you can," Justin advises with a short laugh. "But it's good to know you're on board. I'm pretty much asking the whole cabin. Might as well do it while I meet everyone."

"I don't know anything about spears." Justin has a pretty low opinion of them too. Big, unwieldy, primitive, obsolete, etc. "I know knife fighting though. That's also available for lessons. I also probably won't need Reelshka's permission."

"No, I think I'll be fine with the guns. If I run out of ammunition, I'll run away. Or climb a tree. Or both." I was actually rather surprised that there's so many guns in Fallout 3 with no bows, crossbows or spears; spears especially are rather easy to make- you need something sharp, on the end of a stick. And it's after 200 years; weapons that can be built as well as scrounged should be the most common, and I suspect guns are hard to build if easy to scrounge.

(Yeah, one of the least realistic things about Fo3 is the sheer amount of ammo and guns available. There are spears in New vegas, but only the Legion uses them.)

The Capital Wasteland had been invaded, so there were soldiers about before the bombs fell, meaning lots of guns and ammunition. But maybe there's a gun and ammunition factory somewhere in that place with the androids or something.

"What exactly is this Shadow Beast?" Pathfinder asks. He doesn't use his spirit-sight just yet, wanting to know what he might expect first. He'd rather not attract the attention of something too hostile until he's ready for it.

"They're a lot more common from where I come from, then here," says Levi. "They're basically evil animals made of shadow." Usually, they look like wolves or lions or behemoths.

Then, he adds a useful fact about them: "They're, in fact, very similar to shadow. Bright lights make them more solid, but also more fragile. Dim lights do the opposite." The guy with a sword shrugs. He didn't really do any research on them. He just knows that the best way to kill one is either with a sword, and in case you don't have a sword, the next best way is with a laser gun; and in case you don't have a laser gun, you had better start settling your debt with God pretty quickly.

As I was walking around in the rain today, I thought of something that might be important:
Reelshka or Pathfinder might notice something. It's very hard to notice, and no spirit-sensing abilities will pick it up, but if they stare enough at Levi's shadow, they might just notice that the shadow is slightly out of sync of Levi. As in, only once every so often, it's noticeable. But it can't be that important, anyway, because everyone has weird shadows every now and then.

Sophie chuckles. She finds Salix quite endearing.
"How far away is your tree? Do you come here often?"

"You can just walk into the woods that way for a bit and find it." Salix points in a direction away from the main entrance to the campsite. "I come here lots because I can stay by my tree's baby sapling when I'm here."

"Your tree's sapling? Which one is it?" Sophie asks curiously.

"It's kinda close to the water. You can see it from here." The young dryad points down along the water where a small sapling can indeed be seen. "Freddie helped me plant it."

"And you can stay close to it instead of your tree? That must be very helpful. Do you know the other children who live here?" Sophie would be surprised if she didn't.

I love dice; my collection's primarily D6s, but there's some I got second hand from board games or table top games that have symbols on and I don't know what they're supposed to mean. But they're still cool.
