Up Above: You seem to have knocked out enough spheres for the remaining dragons to take note, all of them abandoning the teleporters (even if otherwise inches away) to fly out through the nearest aperture. Looking inside the central sphere, Usabhar can't see any particular control mechanisms. You seem to recall some arcane sigils that played along the walls the last time you were here but they seem to have been suppressed just like every other spell.

Down Below: Celestica manages to fight off the few nearby dragons that think to approach the portal and the steady stream of refugees heading for it. In the exchange, Celestica learns that these dragons, due to their frailty, seem to have weak points just like the organs of any living creature. The learning process, however, is a trying one. Rahja's magic flows into you in the aftermath of nearly each bite, restoring what you have lost. So long as you are willing to endure the strain and pain of battle, you are in a solid position to fight almost indefinitely.

Traveling through the castle with Zurkar, Rahja finally reaches the secret cell of Zurkar's eldest sister, Minaeyoch. Clearly tortured to the brink of mortality over many decades, the dragon is currently fitted in repaired chains that adhere it to every wall as if to keep her completely motionless. In this particular case, however, it might be for the best. Minaeyoch's entire body twitches and spasms without any rhyme or reason, her breathing irregular as her eyes have rolled back into her skull.

Lord Wero makes a slash against the walls when he notices Usabhar. I said to continue on the spheres. He shakes his head. You know what? It's fine. Just help me reduce this thing to scrap. He says this, resuming his ferocious assault against the sphere.

Opening the door, Zurkar would avert his gaze like he did before to the horrible sight, except this time his compassion forces him to look on as he sees his sister, somehow in worse shape than she was in before and far more heavily bound. The image from before runs through his mind, and he remembers that she thought she could escape, but he talked her out of it. Eclipsian torturers must have picked up on this and sought to punish her. Gods, this was his fault!

From Rahja's perspective, he sees the Prince's mouth, agape and in total shock, staring in abject horror for several of the omniverse's longest seconds in existence before rushing over to the dying dragon-like creature, nearly all of her scales long since pried from her body and what semblance of skin seems to be made up more from more scar tissue and scabs than actual flesh. Minaeyoch! Oh gods, MINAEYOCH!! He screams as he rushes over to his sister, trying in vain to rip one of the cuffs from her body. His unused and unexercised muscles have virtually no hope of removing the metal, but that doesn't stop him from trying. Hold on Minaeyoch, just hold on! We're getting you out of here! You're gonna be okay, just hold on! HELP!!

Rahja, in her short life, has been witness to an excrutiating amount of atrocities of severity that would scar most mortals for their whole life. This one adds another to that count. Celestica, I will heal Zurkar's sister now, my heals will become a bit less frequent for a minute. The healer walks to Minaeyoch, kneeling down before her head, laying a hand on it. "Shhh..." Though she concentrates on the female dragon, it might also be for Zurkar. When he turns to Rahja, he can see her wings expand and glow even brighter, her form positively radiant with warm, soothing light. Zurkar has seen this before, of course, but never has been this close, feeling the immeasurable amount of sheer life energy, all coming from with Rahja. Soon, she touches Minaeyoch's head with her forehead, sharing her pain as Rahja lets her energies flow into the dragon, giving warmth, comfort, compassion and an end to the pain. Zurkar is caught up in the energies as well, even if it is just a tiny amount (in comparison).

He can see the scars being wiped away, wounds closing, scales regrowing, restoring her beauty as Rahja's magic soothes her mind and soul, restoring her sanity and while not simply erasing bad memories, gives her the surety that someone is there who understands, who feels her pain, who can make it better, so that she can, with time, overcome them.

    CELESTICA

Enduring the pain and strain of battle is what Celestica's training has always given her. While she would much rather indulge in the artistic and sensual pursuits of Hanali's faithful, she knows when her duty calls. If all the dragons have been cleared from the portal area, she spreads her circle of patrol, making sure there are no more incursions, the portal must be secured, and as always, Hanali's divine might is her saving grace in battle.

Usabhar looks upon the sphere as he enters, finding it as he had before but with a subtle change he realizes. While the sigils may not be all that important now, it could be information valuable to Wero. So for that, Usabhar brings it up in a swift hurry. "High Lord these walls had been aligned with arcane sigils before. The field may have removed them but keep on guard in case they may appear again." With his warning out, and him tired for now to argue with the thick-headed dragon, Usabhar follows suit to try destroying the huge sphere from within... if there will be enough time for that.

Up Above: Putting down another 40 spheres by himself, over 200 have been put out of commission as the last portion of the mechanical army makes their way to the entrance. Wero's slash into the outer wall once more reveals the gigantic swarm of insects between the internal wall and the external surface. Even as Wero's attacks cease, however, the insects begin the process of repairing the damage.

Down Below: Celestica digs down into another couple of dragons as more dragons start flying out from the sphere above. A good deal of arrows fly out at them from the battlements of the castle but the arrows appear entirely ineffectual. Thankfully, despite Rahja's warning, the dragons only manage to bite deeper into the pool of vigor (read: temp hp) that your beloved had left you with.

Of far more concern, however, is the gate. Gates, while a powerful magical effect, carry one significant downside. Namely, they never last for more than a couple of minutes. As the crowd of refugees running for the first gate grows thicker, the first gate fades away into nothingness.

The Dungeon: Channeling incredible quantities of positive energy through the tormented dragon, you can see her body restored before your very eyes. Every scar and missing scale replaces itself as each wound repairs, leaving her the picture of health. Her breathing finally steady, Minaeyoch finally lifts one eyelid to look at you. "The... chains... I think... they've... been... dulling... the pain."

Zurkar stands back when the healing begins to take effect, rather enthralled with the display as his sister is restored to a pristine state of health right before his very eyes.
The chain of events (no pun intended) is immediately apparent to the Prince following Minaeyoch's remarks. The chains are enchanted to dull pain, and when that iron moon shut down the magic of Emanacal, the full extent of the pain her injuries would have caused hit her like a ton of bricks. Hence her going into shock, or possibly even dying. Congratulations. You're on my unofficial Apocalypse Parole. He remarks as he resumes attempting to remove the chains futily, cursing his inability to use his technomancy. If he could then freeing Minaeyoch would be a trivial task. We need to leave now though I could use some help with these chains, I can't break Adamantium on my own. This time Zurkar attempts to see if it is, in fact a true antimagic field and he can't use his breath weapon to simply sever the chains in the energy blast.

Usabhar has to question the tactics of these dragons to leave their own area alone. If it is so important then why hasn't it been defended better? Slicing the wall open to reveal the insects is what makes the dwarf realize why. Considering both the size of the moon and it's regeneration that these insects achieve for it, it will take forever too long to bring this down. Usabhar can't handle the idea of leaving the world to be destroyed while these two are up here, slowly attempting to bring down what the dwarf knows now to be a low-priority target.

To immediately catch the High Lord's attention, Usabhar clangs his battleaxe down on the sphere, echoing a loud ring. "High Lord this is pointless," he crudely states. "Look at the size of this place; we will be at this for too long if we are to keep this up." Getting a glimpse of the inner walls once more, the dwarf can tell that even without the insects it could take a long time to even make a small, man-made hole in this sphere. "The dragons must have left this place behind as a distraction. A sphere thousands of kilometres long and wide doesn't need to last if it takes this long to destroy. While we waste time here the dragons peck and bleed your people and your land to destruction." Usabhar begins abandoning the High Lord's plan and instead starts making his way out of the sphere. "If you are fine with your planet being a barren, lifeless wasteland then you may stay here. But I will go hunt down the dragons and eliminate the threat they possess first!"

With that Usabhar makes his leave and seeks out the nearest aperture that some of the dragons have entered. Seeking their own defeat the dwarf sees about following after them through the aperture, wherever on Emanacal that might be.

The High Lord makes one almighty slash against the wall before listening to what the Dwarf has to say. As much as it pains the High Lord to admit, he does have a point. The sheer size of this place makes destroying this metal moon (and it is a moon in the most literal sense) a colossal endeavor. The intent is noble but in practicality, it is worth doing only after everything else is no longer in imminent danger. That means destroying those metal dragons while they are still concentrated in a small area, right down to the individual.

You will not. He sharply replies to the dwarf. The fall would leave you vulnerable. Flying over, he extends a hand as if to grab the dwarf, stopping short as if offering. I will bring us down, and we will take back my city or die trying. Fortunately I cannot be killed.

Usabhar, looking at the aperture for but a moment then back to Wero as the dragon extends it's hand out to the dwarf. Considering the unique design of the aperture it may be unlikely that it will even work for anyone not a dragon construct. In addition taking back the most populated city on the planet would be overall better than splitting up to make progress too minimal for the good of the civilians. With only a slight look of caution, Usabhar takes the High Lord's hand, expecting to be carried off in a hurry. "Drop me off at the bulk of their forces," the dwarf says gruffly. "I shall hold off what I can for the sake of your people." His words and plan seems rather crazy, if not suicidal for anyone who does not know the extents of Usabhar's capabilities. Whether Wero actually would do that or not, the dwarf plans to keep to his own idea regardless.

Very well. He says, grabbing the dwarf and taking off like a rocket through the metal moon, down to the planet below. The dwarf in one hand, his enormous adamantium blade in the other. Together they rocket for the outskirts of the city, depositing Usabhar in their midst as the High Lord himself rockets for the city, arcing up and making straight for the Palace, ready to defend its highest tiers from the invaders already in the city.

Up Above: Attacking at the insects, you can hear the entire swarm release a loud "squeak" in unison before resuming the task to repairing the paneling (and presumably each other). Thankfully, Wero manages to break through the last lines of dragons on their way down, bringing himself and the dwarf upon the horde.

Down Below: For a brief moment, in the heat of the battle, every mechanical dragon simultaneously whips its head upwards towards the mechanical moon. Then, as one, they converge.

The dragons no longer circle the citadel and no longer spend their time destroying structures around the city. They no longer even regard Celestica, Wero, or Usabhar, provoking up to 5 attacks of opportunity each round for their recklessness.

Instead, the dragons have swarmed upon the previous grouping of citizens, surrounding the group of 60,000 or more fearful refugees. Surrounding the survivors, each dragon finally lets loose with their breath weapons, letting forth an exhalation of deep violet smoke that fills a 30-foot cone with each. In addition to acting as mundane smoke, it is clear from the coughs and screams that the substance is deathly poisonous. The death toll sharply rising, the dragons move their way in and snapping up more citizens in their jaws. Thankfully, it would seem that the dragons only possessed one dose of their poison.

The Dungeon: Taking the form of a titan, Rahja easily pries the chains off of the titan.

Lord Wero continues slashing at them as they pause, and suddenly take off, converging somewhere. Excellent, he thinks. If they are all in one place it will be easier to whittle down their numbers. He follows, taking every opportunity to inflict damage. When he lands, it's no exaggeration to say he's a whirlwind of tooth and steel, leaving metal bits where there were once metal dragons.

Down below, Zurkar is ecstatic to see his sister freed at last, but this joy is short-lived, being quickly replaced by the need to leave immediately. We do need to leave, right now. I'll explain everything later, but we need to get off-world. there's a gate upstairs, move!
Tugging ineffectively on his significantly larger sibling's hand, Zurkar motions to leave the dungeon and head to Rahja's portal.

Celestica is horrified by the dragon attack and the mass carnage it causes. (and her role in furthering the tragedy). As far as she is concerned, this marks the dragons as truly evil, war is one thing but gas attacks on civilians is another. Her next round of attacks are powered not only by her divine might, but also by her holy smite.

Watching the events below, Usabhar quickly comes to realize that the dragons indeed plan to eradicate the population of the empire rather than eliminating Wero himself. To the dwarf, the people are what make a kingdom, no matter the ruler; putting their survival above the others is of the utmost importance to the dwarf even if it may mean abandoning the ruler in the meantime. Though it may be too late to save most of the civilians still around, Usabhar's will never does deteriorate at the grim look of war and death; his own kind have known it enough by now that it matters little to their own psyche.

Slashing away at the dragons which had come into range, Usabhar reaches the civilians locked in the gas and begins letting out a powerful breath towards the gas, trying to force it away with the sheer force of air coming from the dwarf's lungs. Anyone here can recognize the blast of air as a draconic breath.

After blowing away any sort of gas that he can, the dwarf begins slashing away at any dragons who try to pick up the civilians. Usabhar throws his body at whatever comes close, almost recklessly for the sake of people that barely know him. Among his swings and strikes, the dwarf attempts to attract the dragons to him with more than his strength. "Away from these people mechanical dragons! If you are to take them then I demand you face and battle me first!" Usabhar makes his intent clear, though he doubts that the dragons may actually listen to him. For all his impervious resilience and power, he still is but a dwarf that lacks any sort of arcane ability.

Total damage minus Ruby Nightmare Blade and AoOs is 5082 (three rounds spent using Draconic Throat since it's only 3 times a day) damage + 104 Fire damage.

Damage from AoOs is 2166 damage.

Converging upon the plaza, a fight of fights breaks out as Zurkar, Minaeyoch, and Rahja manage to return to the surface.

Usabhar's breath manages to dissipate a bit of the fog early, though the rest dissipates over the following minute. The dragons crawl inwards towards the crowd, an inexorable wave of metal. 1,000 of the dragons, one third of the fleet, has been assembled in this spot with the rest elsewhere on the planet.

With a minute of intense fighting, exploiting each opening that they give you and fighting with even the raw intensity of divine might, 30 dragons are disabled in the conflict.

Rahja flies to the others as fast as she can, still in her titan form, squeezing off a quick heal as soon as she gets into range. With everyone boosted, Rahja, despite having been robbed of much of her songs' power, still manages to drive the others forward, attacking the dragons herself at least for that small moment.

As soon as Rahja is in range, quickened MCLW with Bear's Strength added in.

Okay, this is where things get wonky. Bard music doesn't work. Weave Feelings is (Ex), but the requirement Weave Emotions is (Su), so that is out. But Live the Legend is (Ex).

So, when Rahja has healed the others, she invokes her two rounds of Live the Legend (maneuvers aren't expended, everything auto-crits, even if enemies are immune to crits normally, all enemies roll only natural 1s and if they are above half max HP, they halve all bonuses to rolls).

Full attacks for both rounds from Rahja
    (8d6+36)[66] x 4 x 2 = 528 damage

Otherwise, heals, heals, heals to keep the THP and overcharge going.

When Rahja, Minaeyoch, and Zurkar reach the portal, they happen to catch the High Lord's attention for but a brief moment, who detects them from the corner of his perception. Listen well. He says, turning and looking at nobody in particular from the side of his face. Until Emanacal is ours again, my youngest son shall be High Lord. Go, you'll only get in the way. With that, he turns back to the battle, leaving Zurkar too shocked to really act in any meaningful manner beyond slack-jawed silence.

Slicing and striking away the dragons who dare come near him, Usabhar finds that he himself lacks the range to ward off the dragons when they surround and enclose both himself and the civilians who are still in danger of being needlessly swarmed and slaughtered. All together now, Usabhar and his allies can probably spare a good number of people from their untimely death but without the ability of magic so many others that can be saved will fall here. Even when he may be the last remaining in a war, the dwarf would fight on but he always makes sure that it is the safety of others which are provided over the safety of himself. To ward off the dragons better he will need reach.

Making a bit of a unorthodox strategy, Usabhar rushes forward and catches the enormous jaw of one of the mechanical dragons in his own hands. With what seems like effortless ease, thanks in part to Rahja's supportive abilities, Usabhar lifts up the mountain-sized dragon in his own two hands, now turning one of his foes into a weapon to fight better with. With a single, powerful swing Usabhar crashes the skies of Emanacal using the dragon, knocking away, back, or down any dragon who foolishly thinks they can even approach Usabhar within a very large radius as his greataxe dances about to swipe at any dragon who manages to try and close in on any nearby civilian. If there was any sort of sign of power coming from Usabhar, this would be it.

Away from the center of the ferocious battle, Nasiri had helped whatever struggling people there were left away to safety. In the midst of it she examines the battle from the distance to notice someone swinging around a mountain-sized dragon against other mechanical dragons. She chuckles quietly, knowing that only her lord Usabhar, whose strength allows such, could use a trick as pragmatic, yet effective as that. When his weapons doesn't have the needed range, use a bigger weapon. Her help, as ineffective as that will be due to a lack of arcane magic, won't be needed at all. Having the dwarf there is all that is needed to help out Wero and Zurkar.

Instead she looks up to the moon above, questioning it's existence on Emanacal. Interesting in garnering a look, Nasiri flies upward to investigate both it's surface and whatever may be inside it if there is a way to enter.

    CELESTICA

Celestica feels the familiar power of Rahja's Live the Legend flow into her, and even though she isnt swinging a colossal dragon around, her fists, and feet and elbows can deal out damage just as easily, powered by divine might and the smiting power of Hanali

Bringing forth fearsome smites, draconic slams, and a dedicated healer into the conflict, the battle proceeds far smoother than could have been anticipated. While the battle rages on for upwards of half an hour, it becomes exceedingly clear that the dragons possess no intention of shifting their tactics and that you are taking their forces out at a steady rate. A few of the stronger warriors and healers from town take to the outer lines of the crowd, no more capable of slaying the beasts than you but at least taking blows so that others won't have to. Over half of the crowd remains alive as the final blow is struck and the final mechanical dragon in town falls to the ground, defeated.
I'm try not to be too vain but this was too perfect not to sig.

    CELESTICA

Celestica rushes into the crowd immediately upon the last dragon falling, she isnt half the healer that the specialists are, but she does have her paladin and limited priestess powers that she brings to bear on the situation.
