"Sorry about the bartender, I guess I missed by a bit. Pity, he had good ale. Still, he would be trying to kill me if he had control of his own mind, so fair is fair, I suppose. If we are taking her prisoner for some reason, we might want to allow her to talk, but the rest is a good idea. I can try to counter any spell that she attempts to cast, if she can cast spells. There is probably someone more able with ropes than I, however. "

"We have, as i understand it, the most talented enchantress i have ever met in this very room. Getting her to speak should not be much of a problem."

"Tessa, can you force her to talk?"

Tessa finally gets off her stool, she is only around 5 ft. tall. She then walks over to the frozen Tulip and places a ring on her finger, then says, "Well she isn't going to be any danger while wearing that ring, however, I have no way of getting information out of her, at least not for a few minutes. Does anyone have a way to detect thoughts right now?

And thank you for the compliment Noru."

"I have no way of discerning the truth from lies at present. Otherwise, I would not have saved her."

"I can discern lies, however the ring only allows me to make her perform actions, and am not privy to her knowledge or forcing her to speak. Give me a few minutes then." Tessa begins to cast a spell, focusing for several minutes as she does so.

"You are welcome, having more than earned it. Mental control of an angel, let along a Solar, is an impressive feat. Also a fairly risky one, but enchantment is not my field of expertise."

"Looks like she is changing her spells for the day. As a warning, she is considerably more powerful than we are."

Having cast her spell Tessa then tells the party, "Well tell me questions to ask her and I can probe her thoughts." Tessa then begins to focus on the helpless Tulip.

"I think we might as well cover the basics first. That is, who is she, who sent her, what her orders were, how did she get a copy of the tattoo, what does she know about the planar's plans, what is she most desperate to avoid telling us, does she have any useful items concealed anywhere, what spells she is capable of casting, and how did she know to be running down that alley would seem to be a good starting point."

"It is also a good idea to discover whatever she knows about the planars in the city; their number, their type, their dislocation, their intelligence, intended as what they know about the Ash. Tulip had to be trained for this task, so she likely knows a good percentage of the planars' whole knowledge about us."

Krgg

Krgg nurses his mead throughout the conversation, not really listening at all. The taste of the drink takes him back to happy times with his mentor, who gave him his first sip...the taste hadn't changed a lick!

Krgg's mind danced through memories of those times, playing at spears with the other children, declaring himself as "Many-arrows the Conqueror!" in their play sessions...

*ZAP*

The snuffing out of the bartender brings him screeching back to the present. He leaps to his feet, Foebane in hand, knocking over his mead. As Noru touches the slave-girl, rendering her helpless Krgg is shouting his war-cry.

He whips around and sees...everything in perfect order...no enemies, no fight, no bloodshed.

Abashedly he apologizes, Well then...sorry about that.

He glances at Tulip, and quickly figures out what must have happened, HA! Never doubt an orc, we're always right!

As Tullip begins casting her spell, Zaavariel is too far away to bing his sword to bear before Noru immobilizes th woman. He watches on, studying the members of the party and their new "friends" carefully.

Having little to contribute to the Arcane discussion. Zaavariel remains quiet.

Moving over towards Krgg, "Krgg, you ugly pig faced bastard; ever feel like it'd just be easier to just start running blades through these damned spellcasters?"

Magic makes for some odd notions of interrogation...back home we'd take an all metal hammer, set it in a nice hot fire next to the...uh... he searches for the right word, interro-gee...heh. Then we'd stake him to an ant hill smeared with honey and one hand free in the hammer's reach. Interstin' seein what some folks would come up with to try. Funny how it always involved the hammer...

"Her name is actually Tulip. It seems that nobody sent her, as she sought you guys out. As for the tattoo, she used an alter self spell. She knows that the planars are trying to take over this plane.

She does have useful items concealed somewhere, however they don’t seem to be on her person. Tulip is able to cast arcane spells. Tulip has been watching your party since you arrived at Waterdeep.

As for the thing that she is trying to avoid telling us the most is that she has an upper planar father, but she is native to this plane."

"Tulip believes that there are several dozen planars in Waterdeep, and their types vary.

Some of them are very intelligent and some are not, a few more intelligent planars have heard of The Ash, however The Ash isn’t talked about much in Waterdeep, as they haven’t affected the planars here, until recently."

Garrin didn't jump to his feet when Tulip was unmasked as impostor and spy... but now he is hiding his knives, even though it was hard to notice the moment he drew them. He continues to slowly drink the mead.

"Nothing against spellcasters here... When you are almost in pieces I prefer to rely on one of them instead of bandages.
... teleportation is quite handy too. ... I hate ships..."

To Tessa : "You can read her thoughts when I ask the questions, right?"

He stands up and approaches Tulip.
"Okay girly. List three strongest planars in Waterdeep, and tell us about them. Where we can find them, how they prefer to attack and how to kill them?
Where is Hexen? Tell us everything you know about any of it's vulnerabilities."
He asks as he comes up with new questions. And finally, with much more interest on his face and with much quieter voice.
"Do you know where I can find Ra'Khar, girl?"

"Well, that is useful. Now, time to try to get some specifics. Where did she conceal those items, who is her father, and why did she seek us out. Should I try to dispel the alter self?"

“Well I am repeating the questions to her, mentally. Clover the Bitter is currently the leader of the planars in the castle, Tulip thinks that he is probably the strongest planar in Waterdeep, but doesn’t know who she would rank #2 and #3. She doesn’t know his methods of attack as she has never fought him. But you can find him at the top level of the castle, most of the time.

She has heard that there is a Hexen in the High Forest, and that it lives in a giant tree. But she doesn’t know anything else about it other than that. She says that Ra’Khar is just a myth.”

“The items are with her familiar. She doesn’t know her father’s name, just that he took advantage of her mother one night and conceived her. It seems that she sought you out in order to get your help to overthrow Clover the Bitter. She doesn’t care if you use dispel on her.”

"Why does she want to overthrow Clover the Bitter? Is there any reason we should not allow her to help us?"

"She wants to rule over Waterdeep herself, by overthrowing Clover. She is planning on killing you after the battle against him, while you all are weak."

Gale dispels an alter self spell on Tulip, the fake mark of The Ash disappears from her chest.

Garrin turns around, facing Gale and other wise people from the group.
"I am afraid I dozed off on my upper planar classes, could you tell me how dangerous is that thing, and how to best kill it? Would appreciate it."

"High Forest? ... Tessa, one question for you, this time. Are the Druids of High Forest still around?"

Forest is a big place... if Hexen is there it doesn't necessary mean they are all dead now...
