Re: Dr McNinja III: You Rad Bro?
Well you must remember Gorilla + Bazooka > Ninja
As we are seeing here, Gorilla's on their own are pretty badass; A Ninja is gonna have trouble with one... Give that Gorilla a bazooka and the Ninja stands no chance at all. We'll probably see Mcninja turn this one around... but its clear that if that gorilla had a bazooka, this would be over already. So you see; Hastings is just being consistent.Last edited by slayerx; 2014-03-15 at 12:36 AM.

Re: Dr McNinja III: You Rad Bro?
Actually that was a mega-ninja who were outmatched by a gorilla with a bazooka, clearly then it seems a regular gorilla is enough to beat a regular ninja around

He can only hope his vampire fighting skills trump his gorilla fighting lack of skills.

Re: Dr McNinja III: You Rad Bro?
Guess Doc was busy on his flight in reading up on gorilla pressure points.

Re: Dr McNinja III: You Rad Bro?
It'd depend on when the de-cloning happened. Remember, this story happened in the past and is happening while he's a post-grad student so he might not have his other degrees yet.
EDIT: checked the "Monster Mart" chapter. There's nothing conclusive there indicating when it happened. I have trouble believing Doc & Martin stayed room-mates after the sellout.
EDITTIER: so, "Army of One" has Doc in 1990, talking about 8 year degree programs. It's not clear how many (if any) years Doc already has under his belt at this point, but he tells the clones "See you in 8 years!". So the de-cloning would have happened in 1998.
Our current tale happens in "199Something" so while it *could* be in 1999, odds suggest this story is happening before the de-cloning.Last edited by TheEmerged; 2014-03-20 at 04:59 PM.

Don't have time to archive binge, but can't doc 'see' pressure points anyway?

Re: Dr McNinja III: You Rad Bro?
Doc has a deep understanding of human anatomy, which allows him to locate pressure points, even when they're not where they'd normally be. Even odds on whether it also works on gorilla anatomy. (Seriously- I'd say there's a fifty-fifty chance of the gorilla just no selling it and slapping Doc around some more).

Honestly, given their past collaborations, I'm surprised that it's taken this long for this gag to appear.
Direct Link, in case the comic disappears after the 1st.Last edited by Porthos; 2014-04-01 at 12:38 AM.

OK, maybe, just MAYBE they are telling a really funny vampire gorilla joke, and don't happen to have exceptionally wonderful hearing.
Maybe?

Judy's absolute panic face is great. You can feel the fear there.
Have we ever even seen Judy scared before this arc?

I did NOT pick that one...
Nor did the Doc, by the look of him. Poor petal, he needs a holiday.

Re: Dr McNinja III: You Rad Bro?
Well, in folklore, hyenas can mimic human speech. That's why D&D gnolls - well, 4E gnolls, at any rate - can imitate any person's voice that they hear.

Re: Dr McNinja III: You Rad Bro?
It could be the new vampire that was seen in daylight. They did presume it to be the same person after all.

Re: Dr McNinja III: You Rad Bro?
Looks like Dr. Hastings has jumped on board the Patreon revolution. The immediate implication of that IMO is, should it be successful enough, Dr. McNinja won't be ending anytime soon.
I've gone ahead and signed up and one of the things he is promising is that the all-new ebook that he's been working on will be given free to all Patreon supporters, if the pledges get high enough. Right now he's already past the 'guarantee MWF midnight update no-more-flaking' pledge level, so if people are wondering why the comic is updating a bit more regularly, that's why.
It'll be interesting to see if he can reach the 3k a month threshold (the ebook level) or not as time goes on.Last edited by Porthos; 2014-05-04 at 12:26 PM.

Re: Dr McNinja III: You Rad Bro?
Y'know, Doc's argument is perfectly logical. The vampire was killing gorillas before he ever showed up.
