DoomITP, this is a pretty minor issue, but how does Evan know who the Operative is? His IC presence isn't well-known.

Evan definitely would know about MURDER. I just didn't think he'd know about the Operative.
If you edited your post, that'd be great.

Coming right up beanie dear!
SpoilerThis is the thief who likes to hoard,
That loves the bard with the puppet Lord
That admires the fighter with the green-hilted sword,
That employs the Wizard, whose bird is ignored,
That has the gender unexplored
That intrigues the Halfling, usually bored,
That slew a mountain of the goblin horde,
That follows the cleric,
That serves the lich,
That seeks the gate,
That guards the snarl,
That lives in the prison the gods built.

Gonna be honest, DEB: the scene in MURDER is starting to irritate me a little. Trissy magically being impossible to kill strikes me as a bit disingenous since it was one of your other characters who bought that contract in the first place.

Re: [Nexus] OoC 34: If it exists, we have role-played it. No exceptions.
You know, I sometimes think that a good 60% of The Operative's problems could be solved by a button that drops the ceiling in his office from his desk forwards onto whoever is standing there.
It just seems like a quick and efficient way of saying "contract denied" to me.Julie, everyone's nth favorite succubus, by Gulaghar.

Re: [Nexus] OoC 34: If it exists, we have role-played it. No exceptions.
What? No!
You can't go around dropping ceilings on people, that's not classy enough for a proper assassins guild. Clearly what the Operative needs is a shark pit. Of course, what with various denizens of the Nexus near universally being able to avoid or outright a garden variety, it would have to be a flying, adamantine-toothed god-shark, but there's no price too high for true style.Meese Mobster by smuchmuch.

The trick about the crushing ceiling is how utter the destruction is. You can't beat up the sharks, light yourself on fire, use mind control or empathy powers, or anything. One does not reason with the ceiling!

Re: [Nexus] OoC 34: If it exists, we have role-played it. No exceptions.
You could just buy a pressure-washer and put the drain in the main lobby in a corner somewhere. Then you could just spray all the pulp out into the drain.
Also, with the base underground, having drains in the floor isn't suspicious, it's a must. Flooding would be a real problem that close to the river.Julie, everyone's nth favorite succubus, by Gulaghar.

Or he could buy a zombie cleaning crew. Dead men tell no tales and all that.
On an entirely unrelated note, I think I'm going to have Strahd start up a shop that rents and sells undead labor. I'm assuming Remnant's 'no slaves' law wouldn't apply to mindless animated corpses?Last edited by ThirdEmperor; 2012-09-15 at 05:52 PM.

Re: [Nexus] OoC 34: If it exists, we have role-played it. No exceptions.
As long as we're just handwaving 'lol zombies here' and not 'I've murdered whole villages to animate them to circumvent the anti-slavery laws' then Remnant wouldn't see any reason to get involved.
My avatar! Isn't it just utterly diabolical? Ashen Lilies made it!

Presumably, they volunteered for zombiehood before dying naturally. Otherwise, it's destruction of property, vandalism, theft and desecration of a corpse if they're taken from a graveyard, murder and desecration of a corpse if they're not volunteers.

As someone who has run a similar organization for a few years now, I have to say that it's very annoying to be given contracts the organization has no way of fulfilling. Especially if the player whose characters gives the contract knows this very well.
