I get the feeling that puns sustain gaming and GitP in particular more then carbonated beverages.

I wonder if Jim is going play Lando in the next story arc.

If so, I kinda doubt it will last for the entire campaign; Han does reappear relatively early into Return of the Jedi, and I think the GM's ban on Jim controlling multiple characters at once still stands.

Plus, the parts of the movie where Lando is most active are also the parts of the movie where Jim will be most Hans-on.

It might not stand for episode VII though.

We will need a "space" party since the entire Group will be on Endor technically.

would there be enough important NPCs for the entire party to take control of in the space battle to have everyone with one?

Lando, Wedge, Admiral Ackbar...Arvel Crynyd? Annie will already have a second character going with Vader, and Corey is in kind of a liminal space with Luke being on the Death Star, so I think you could finagle four space characters for Pete, Sally, Jim, and Ben.

Or the GM could be sane for once and just narrate the space battle.

Or the GM could be insane and play out the entire battle himself, playing all of the characters! I'm sure the PCs would love that.

No NPCs needed - the GM will just let the PCs divvy up command of the Rebel (and Ewok) forces since they're all on the same side as the PCs, while the GM (maybe with help from Annie) runs the Imperials. Except Lando and Wedge are GM characters.... maybe he'll let the PCs control them anyway?

However it goes, I'll make two predictions:
#1 It'll be awesome and hilarious.
#2 Pete will be responsible for the A-Wing kamikaze run into the bridge.

A-wing Kamikaze always seemed like more of a Jim Plan than anything else to me.

Isolating a single point of weakness in a 20km-long warship that allows a single human missile to wreck the whole thing is a Pete plan.

Actually doing it is a Jim plan.

Pete: I hack the enemy warship looking for blueprints, 27. Analyze for structural weakpoints, 23.

DM: You deduce that a Class 4 explosion to the bridge would likely cause a chain reaction to take the whole thing out.

Pete: Hm, our Torpedoes are only Class 2...

Jim: Hey, those Pizza Wings are basically big missiles, aren't they?

Pete Metagaming + Jim Planning is the perfect explanation.

WAIT...I know how the space battle goes down.

    Spoiler
    Show
Pete plays Ackbar, Everyone else plays the "Squadron" Annie will play Rogue, and make up all the events of the books and games mid fight, Jim will be Green Squad, as after looking it up they were the ones attacking the Super Star Destroyer, Pete comes up with the idea to focus on the weakpoint..Jim is the one who comes up with "Ramming Speed!"

Edit : Alternatively, they pull out the Dice with the 1s Rerolled out, and it gets another one on the evasion roll..then gets a 20 on the "I am dying so i am taking them out with me" roll.

Well, hey, you don't spend all those years playing Dungeons & Dragons and not learn a little something about courage.
Okay, it bugged me that I couldn't remember where that quote came from, but when I looked it up I didn't feel bad about not remembering exactly where. I wasn't a huge fan.

Read the DM notes, goodness, the players went off track real quick. Does give a little more light about Jim's actions early on.

Honestly I'm surprised the DM is still planning stuff that far out, considering his players. Hell of an optimist, I guess.

Having that material is still useful if (when) the players go off-script, so it's not a bad idea even for a pessimist.

I'm surprised that this time, most of the stuff the GM planned actually happened, just in a different order and in different places. He's gotten much better at stealth-guiding his players and adapting his material compared to, say, Revelation of the Sith.

I like the note about expecting Pete to run out of subtle L/R switches after, at most, 3. It fits the characters so well, and yet was so thoroughly wrong.

Well, of course! This is the fifth game, so it's only natural for him to get better at scripting them over time.

Can you imagine the ones they did later being worse-scripted? Now that would be depressing!
