I think you can barely scratch any enemy that's +10 levels above you as is.

Depends on what it is.
Whatever-the-Invincible? Don't even try.
Badasses and other (mini-)bosses? Scratch damage.
Random "normal" mooks? Tough, but remotely doable if you can avoid getting one-shotted.
Level-capped Spiderants during the TVHM Pyro Pete fight? Cannon fodder.
Pirate's Booty sandworms while you have a skiff? Quoth Krieg, "INSURANCE FRAUD!"

I disagree. It'd result in absurdly slow progression, and limit the player's enjoyment of the game. It'd also result in sequence breaking, which is exactly what every developer tries to avoid.

You're assuming that every player knows what they're doing as much as you do. If you make it possible to kill enemies that are way beyond your level, then a LOT of players will go in, do just that without knowing they aren't supposed to, get frustrated, quit, and never play that type of game again.

Always assume that most players suck at the game and don't know what they could do better. If you work on that assumption, then yes, taking away some of the options to voluntarily "limit their own enjoyment" makes the game better for the majority of players.

Developers put a lot of hard work into making a game that people can enjoy, and the last thing they want is for people to find flaws in that. The refilling health meter is the perfect example of a "be all, end all" solution. Nothing else had to be changed to keep the experience as the developers wanted. If you have problems with that, there are plenty of other games that can be modded.

Reading this thread, I can't believe how lucky I am with orange loot in that playloot. Well, maybe not that lucky, but seeing how some people only ever got one or two oranges, I found about half dozen of them without even farming.

Oh well, at least I managed to finish the game already. I'm playing with other characters now and finding more and interesting things about Borderlands.

Like for example, I can't believe how useful I found hyperion guns now. In my previous playthroughs, I always put them in "automatically trash" tier. Now I try to not leave home without a hyperion smg or pistol in a slot. That one type of hyperion shotgun, that one with big magazine and high accuracy, is also the best shotgun out there.

Have you tried switching to the backup save instead? That might be able to salvage your character.

It's kind of frustrating, actually. It's such a good shield that it kind of overrides the need to use any other shield, unless you're in a specific situation that demands it.

I dunno, I picked up a Flame of the Firehawk, which pretty much makes it impossible for me to die, except if I charge into a boss and there aren't any enemies around me to spontaneously ignite...

My highest character is Sal, and the Bee isn't very useful if your shields are down most of the time.

However, since my shields are usually down, my level 50 Flame of the Firehawk is freaking amazing, especially while I'm holding a Moxxi weapon, so I get healed by dealing elemental damage.

Now, once my Gaige has the ability that restores 100% shield after each kill, I'll have a good use for the Bee again! ...Until I get Sharing is Caring, and Deathtrap gets a copy of Terramorphous' Hide.

Ignoring Krieg.

The Bee is especially mean on a Gaige that is smartly specced, as any good Gaige player uses all three trees. Close Enough and Blood-Soaked Shields are a necessity, and Anarchy + Discord makes it all the better. Build up 25 stacks, reload, use the shield recharge bonus to load the Bee, and open fire with an insane damage buff. Then empty your mag, reload again, and burn through 25 more stacks. It's fun to get 600 stacks, but it's not efficient. Takes too much time with an absolutely absurd result.

Sniper Zer0 isn't viable after a certain point into TVHM, so it's not like you should concern yourself.

...Eh, my current build is more Cunning than a Sniper build, I've been using a Professional class mod, giving me a bonus to Tw0 Fang and Killer, though the bonus to Ambush is also nice.

I was thinking of getting myself a lvl 61 TPUH (maybe a lvl 61 Infinity too, for when I'm low on ammo, but it's hard to get one reliably,) a blue or higher Stalker class mod, Sheriff's Badge, but then I'd need to respec to take full advantage of the Stalker's skill bonuses. Something like this maybe?

Am level 55, and I've been bashing enemies for 3000k odd damage per hit when in Buzzaxe Rampage and on fire. My biggest problem currently is getting set on fire consistently and staying as such.

I use cunning when I'm playing solo, but I generally switch over to my sniper build when I'm playing with my friends. 2: While still in Decepti0n, aim the Jakobs Sniper at the head/critical area. This almost a one shot, especially if it is the first bullet. I've done over 2 million damage with this, and I'm using a green sniper rifle that has about 65500 damage. I have since found a purple Jakobs rifle that deals a little over 90000. Though I'm still thinking of getting myself a Trespasser.

The buffalo rifle is pretty excellent if you can learn to snipe without the scope. Also, the lack of scope makes it the only sniper rifle that's really viable with critical ascension at all (although most people don't use that skill anyway.)
