I'm seconding the booze suggestion despite not having any ideas for a booze based class. As for the homebrew based on other homebrew, I'd say no for a base class challenge (though I'd love to be there next time we have a PrC contest with that theme) due to it really meaning you need to play with someone else's subsystem (I would love a contest where you have to utilize one of the under-used subsystems [Binding, Incarnum, Shadowcasting, Truenaming, maybe even Invocations or ToB but those seem rather common on these forums])

My first idea was a late starting one (KoD 9/Clr 1) that focused on commanding undead armies for your god and taking souls. It was full BaB and full casting, and equivalent replacement abilities for the levels with the focus on that.

My second was one that focused on your steed and spinal blade, giving you a different array of abilities for the blade, and end up with your steed gaining extra abilities like flight and speed, and with a capstone of becoming a Bone Wyvern. They were originally one idea but I split them.

It's the start of a new college semester for me, and I don't know for how many others. I'm trying to juggle a lot of things, personally. I believe Temotei is in the same boat, so voting may get extended.

Also: love the booze idea. May I point out, though, that contest XXII could also be a good fit for that, since it's 21+?

Oh yeah, I made/am making a Tall Tale PrC to try and give you an option for getting more Least/Lesser Exaggerated Tales at the cost of getting 1 less Greater and only 2 Storied skills, so just wanted to thank Beelzubub for the suggestion of that as an idea. I think it might still be a fair bit worse than getting the Storied Skills (which were an attempt to give you level appropriate abilities at high level) but you do end up with (and need) truly crazy amounts of skill points (10 Exaggerated Skills ~10-14 skill points per level before Int) and a few rounds of extra Greater skills each day.

Also, after the contest there's an ability of the class I'm thinking about dropping and wondered about people's opinions of doing so.

Notably Greater Skin of Their Teeth as it was made before most of the Storied Skills and could prove too much with some of the combat oriented ones. Though I'm thinking about modifying the take 10+ abilities so they progress in smaller increments and cap at take 15 or 16 so that you're more likely not to just take 10 even if it is still a rare event, and possibly pushing Uncanny Luck to a higher level.

EDIT: Also, I was considering adding a voting entry to future contests, taking from the Iron Chef Optimization Contest: Honorable Mention. Basically, it's the "I Wish I Had Thought of That" award. Thoughts?

How would honotable mention be decided? if it's by voting, then how would it be any different than a fourth place?

Ideas to differentiate:

One can vote a single entry for both Honorable mention and position, and one can get both rewards.

One can give out many Honorables, and instead of a "place" we count Mentions or Mentions/voters. For example, "1st place, got 5 mentions. 2nd place, got 8 mentions" and so on.

We clarify that "honorable mention" has a different scope, for example only concept and not execution. An example would be the core Truespeaker, held by many to be the best flavor and by all to not fit in the tier system.

Or any group of the above?

In other news I look forward to finding out the theme of the next competition, and have started brainstorming alcohol based ideas just in case.

I like the idea of honorable mention as a separate vote that doesn't affect ranking. Although, I like the idea of feedback in general. Everyone reads every entry before voting, right? Maybe everyone could a mention, honorable or otherwise.

Also, I'm gonna occasionally use reverse penalties. Is there such a thing as a competence penalty currently in the game? (So I can tell how I must shape my wording).

(Brandy for protection from elements and cold damage, Beer for making friends, Burbon for Drunken Rage, Cinnamon Whiskey for an Elixir of Fire-breathing, Bloody Mary for recovery, And I've got a great ability for Tequila in the works.)

Added Dwarven Racial Substitution Levels to Intoxicanter; because it's so thematically dwarven I needed something to allow dwarves to be good at it without suffering for their Charisma penalty.
