Re: [MLP] Roleplaying is Magic IC: The Broken Road.
The party had spent most of the night wandering in between dunes, at present two sandy hills rose to the north and south, parallel to their direction of travel.
The idea had been that it would shelter them from the wind, as well as any of the bandits who might be looking for them. Unfortunately, it meant that apart from in front, and behind, the only thing they could really see from here were the stars overhead.
Behind was only trackless sand. In front, the sandy valley began to level out on to rocky ground and what looked like the beginnings of a small canyon.

Soot couldn't contain her excitement in seeing an end to the sand. Despite the fact that she was more than a little tired from the fight and the walk, the canyon entailed at the very least a change to the monotony of their journey, plus they could probably find food and water better in there.

Oh, that just wasn't fair. Water, able to be heard and not seen. A shelter from the rays of the sun, visible but not reachable unless they pushed themselves harder than they could go.
"The canyon would provide a better chance for us to rest," he stated, listening for more thunder. "It will have better shade, and better hide us from any remaining bandits."I run a Let's Play channel! Check it out!
Currently, we're playing through New Vegas as Gabriel de la Cruz, merchant and mercenary extraordinaire!

Re: [MLP] Roleplaying is Magic IC: The Broken Road.
"Yeah, come on guys, we're finally out of this valley ... and into another valley, kinda, I guess ... but it's made of rock, rather than sand, which is really only tiny tiny rocks when you think about it."
The canyon was still a few hundred meters off, but Iggy seemed to share Soot's enthusiasm about checking it out. He just wasn't very good at phrasing it.
The sandy dunes were not that steep, and easily scalable should anyone try, but the thunder did not repeat.
To be continued .... in the new IC thread!Last edited by BlasTech; 2013-04-10 at 06:15 PM.
