"Eh..." Yuki realizes his mistake. And really doesn't know what to say. He gives an apprehensive look and half-smile to Kirlia.

"It... sorta... um... hitafuellineandexploded." He waits for her response with a slightly crestfallen expression.

Kirlia is quiet for a moment before getting up and flying away.
She needed some alone time.

Yuki groans, both at Kirlia's use of her powers, and at his own slip. He sighs, picking up the scanner for the med-'bots. Glancing at the readout, it appears that the 'bots have roughly an hour before Kirlia is healed enough for her own body to fully take over.

Rolling his eyes, Yuki lifts off the ground on his white wings and follows the scanner's signal, keeping out of sight of the distraught woman.

[Approaching Watchtower]

Mścisław can be seen approaching the tower, wrapped in a fur coat and wearing a wide-brimmed hat.

Boris is at the gates to the tower, surveying the area with one of his sniper rifles. When he sees Mścisław, he lowers the rifle and approaches the man.

[Morty]

[Approaching Watchtower]

Mścisław tips his hat respectfully when he sees Boris approach. "Master Boris! I'm glad to see you."

[Devixer]

Approaching Watchtower

"Just Boris is is fine," he says as he slings his rifle across his back. "What brings you here, Mścisław? Checking on your son?"

[Morty]

[Approaching Watchtower]

"That I am, yes," Mścisław says with a nod. "It seems he's doing well learning to be a psychic. Well, according to Wenomir at any rate. I know very little about such powers."

[Devixer]

Approaching Watchtower

"I don't know much about psychics either, so I can't help you." Boris heads back to the gate to open it, indicating that Mścisław should follow. "How are things in your village? Well, I hope?"

[Morty]

[Approaching Watchtower]

Mścisław follows Boris into the tower. "Oh, yes. We're doing well. There's a lot of good land around that doesn't really belong to anyone, so we have plenty of space for our crops and animals. The only thing that worries us is that we rely on outside help if something like that demon shows up again."

[Devixer]

[Approaching Watchtower -> Courtyard]

"I wouldn't worry about that. Outside help is not hard to come by around here," Boris says, heading into the Courtyard for Mścisław.

[Morty]

[Courtyard]

"As evidenced by your timely intervention with our Lady Midday," Mścisław says with a nod. "It's not that different from what I used to know... in our homeland, the peasants expect their lord to protect them in exchange for their taxes."

"Have you considered training a militia?" Boris asks while looking for Mścisław' son.

[Morty]

((I'd rather the meeting between Mścisław and his son was handled off-screen. It wouldn't be very exciting and I sent him here so he can talk to other Watch members.))

[Courtyard]

Mścisław nods.
"We have. There's no shortage of strong men in our village and the neighboring ones. With some training, we could fend off at least some attacks."

Boris nods as well. "I'm not sure of what weapons you use, but you'd be able to at least buy time for help to arrive."

"People in our area are drawn from worlds similar to mine, so we're unfamiliar with the more advanced weapons. The militias in my homeland used spears, bows or axes... weapons that are readily available for farmers. Re-purposed farming tools like scythes and flails are also popular in a tight spot," Mścisław explains.

She's knocking down trees and causing the rocks to tumble away as she goes faster and faster, not caring for her own safety.

"Well, if any of the men in your village wish to learn to use a firearm, let me know. I can show them the basics." Boris certainly won't be teaching Spetsnaz tactics, but he's aware by now that the technology of modern guns can be a little intimidating to some.

As Yuki flies after Kirlia, he glances down at the controller and watches as Kirlia's vital signs (and the durability of the 'bots) shake and dip down at each impact.
His finger hovers over a single button, labeled "Disable"...
He goes to press it, but hesitates...
Another, stronger dip in vitals...
For her own safety, he has to...

"...Kirlia-san... I... am so sorry..." He presses the button. The 'bots should shortly be tapping into her nervous system, sending out tiny pulses to temporarily paralyze her from the neck down.

Kirlia falls onto the ground as she struggles to move in vain.
"All those people...men...women...children...they're all dead because of me."
She cries to herself.
"They deserve justice."
She cried into the ground.
"I don't even deserve to live. I'm lower than pond scum."

Landing next to Kirlia, Yuki catches the last half of her words and crouches next to her. He gently places his hand on her forehead.

"Perhaps they are dead because of you. And perhaps you did destroy their lives and dreams and hopes.
"But think about what the demons would have done. If they had broken free, if they had survived, how much more chaos would they have caused? How many more would they have killed and ruined?
"And if you think that you really are undeserving of life, what would you say of me, who would force you to keep living..."

The faintest hint of a smile ghosts across his face as he looks down at her.

"I can ask, but I don't know how many will be willing. Firearms are a little indimitading to most of us. In time, perhaps."

"I do appreciate the offer. Maybe some of us would be willing, who knows," Mścisław says with a shrug. "It's been quiet since you dealt with that demon, though. The nearby fey are kept away using old-fashioned methods."

"That's good. You should remain vigilant, though. You never know if it'll come back, back or if something else will arrive." Boris pauses, then adds, "Sorry, I can be a downer sometimes."

Mścisław smiles a little.
"My brother says it's a common attitude here. From what he's told me, it's not surprising. I can't even imagine the sort of thing you tackle regularily."

"It's not an easy job," Boris says. "Not much worse than my last one, but still."

"What did you do before coming here, then?"
