"Emlyn, Flank the doorway!" Sir Erky had shouted moving next to Fix.

Fix's situation was dire, those next to her saw that this was no normal goblin. The struggle was brief but intense. The goblin had a firm hold on her head and was repeatedly driving his knee into her gut. She struggled but could not free herself.

Fix you had felt him lose his grip on you slightly, as if he had taken a hit and you had wasted no time. Your ghulra seemed to flare to life and with your buckler hand you had grabbed the goblin around his neck and pinned him against the doorway. Your other enchanted arm delivered a short, vicious blow that collided with the goblin's head and continued into the wall. A large chunk of the wall dislodged itself and fell to the earth.

You dropped his body into the pile. Your pile.

The heroes had fought on bravely through the fight. No quarter was given or expected. It had truly been a fight to the death and death was given. Sojan caved in a goblin's face with a solid stroke. The goblin hadn't even raised it's shield to block the attack. Fix's arm took another in the neck, the audible sound of snapping bones was all you heard as the body slumped away into the mist.

The hoard seemed less loud than it had a minute ago. The numbers were dwindling. Your moments became natural as all of you parred and blocked the goblin's futile attacks. Sojan you had watched Don'Moar struggle to claw it's way out of a pile of bodies. Unable to help him or protect him you watched as he danced around his opponents weapons.

It seemed briefly that this fight could be won. With the enchantment spells protecting you the goblin hoard could not touch you. Then, just like that, one spell ended and you saw that you were far from done. The question was in the back of your mind: what spell was next to expire? You hadn't had time to think about it in the chaos but you knew that each attack was precious and it had to find it's target.

Suddenly you saw; clearly. Gore, chunks of flesh, and blood covered the group. It was impossible to tell how injured your allies were from the sheer volume of blood covering every inch of their body and armor.

The enemies still seemed countless, and had you not the magical hope of Emlyn's poetry pounding in your head, you may very well have given up. When the goblins had seen their numbers and yours they had began shouting louder, they spaketh in tongues, screaming gibberish and insanity your way.

Sir Erky and Sojan had seen the dolgrim at the doorway for the first time. The gnome made a face of disgust and annoyance but didn't say anything. The four armed monstrosity swinging at Fix from around the corner and firing a crossbow at her from point blank. She was able to easily avoid it's attacks but for how much longer?

Don'Moar scrambled back and away from the goblin hoard and into the spot where Fix had slammed through a hobgbolin's head. He stumbled as a heavy pick caught his foot but didn't fall again; Erky's healing spell had finally healed the damage he had taken earlier.

Sojan, of everyone, you had felt invincible. The healing spell on you had run it's course and no one had been able to land a blow against you all battle. You scanned the field and met eyes with Emlyn, "Emlyn! A little cover would not go unappreciated!""

Fix too had spoken, after she had noted the armored goblins in the back. Presumably they had joined late coming from some unknown location. "Thin the crowd of the more able fighters first! The weakest goblins can do far less harm to us, so there is no need to kill them first!"

An obscuring mist enveloped the field and you fought on in the hazy light against countless foes.

Fix takes a slug at a goblin behind Sojan, taking the chance to move away from the dolgrim. "I can't deal with dolgrims, the bane magic doesn't see them as goblins!" She has a very faint edge of panic in her voice; she had become far more injured than she would have hoped this early in the fight.

The warforged had grazed the top of the goblin's head but the sudden explosion of the poor creatures head indicated it had been enough. "I can't deal with dolgrims, the bane magic doesn't see them as goblins!" she had yelled as she moved away.

The dolgrim had followed her progress, climbing over the pile of bodies. His attention had been diverted by Sir Erky who bravely matched heavy picks with the creature. The dolgrim had proved to be a much better combatant when he bashed away Sir Erky's pick with it's shield and slammed it's pick into and through Erky's breastplate.

Erky recovered quickly slamming his own shield into the creature's arm but it was clear that with his poor constitution and the length of the fight he was not recovering as quickly as he would have.

The rest of the group was not fairing well. Emlyn had lost his foe's in the mist and he had been flanked on all sides. A small goblin bashed the side of his knee and he had stumbled down as another slammed his heavy pick deep into Emlyn's lung. The half-elf had somehow managed to continue speaking in elven but it was coughed up and blood had pooled into his mouth. At the moment he had seemed barely conscious of his surroundings.

Don'Moar had released a blast of cold air at his foes as his strength continued to return to him. Two of the goblins succumbed to it's breath weapon falling over and hitting the floor. A third had tried to grab at the dragon. Don'Moar reacted much like a cornered rat, snarling and biting at anything that got too close to him. He fought for his life, just like the rest of you.
