Eh, it's supposed to be a mix of tongue in cheek as it's a running gag and a bit of personal disgust for its state of being true at times.

Re: Bleach VI: We Want Our Baby Bach Ribs (Aizen pull)
Sooo...
SpoilerSome....odd....ideas in the zpac discussion. I preferred the idea of Sword and Shinigami as Partners, not with the Sword being dominant. It just...doesn't feel like it meshes with things we've seen before.
As for the other half...I don't think either is going to die, but...

Not his zanpaktou at the start as he used Rukia's powers.
SpoilerThat guy makes the blades, but he never mentioned how they get from where he is to the SS. It's clear they they are not transported in a normal fashion. That sugests a mechanism that has not explained yet.

How about after training with Urahara at the beginning of the Soul Society arc, getting (back?) his shinigami powers after... whatever the heck Byakuya did to him?

Re: Bleach VI: We Want Our Baby Bach Ribs (Aizen pull)
It's gonna turn out that Ichigo's zanpakto isn't actually a Zanpakto, but just quincy...stuff, formed into the shape of a zanpakto, so concentrated that it just becomes one. It'd be like if Ishida made a bow with so much conncentrated reitsu, it turned into a real bow.
Or like, the transfer process is automatic and when you become a shinigami you gain one of the nameless swords to imprint apon.
Also I like how the guy basically touches apon every character/zanpakto relathionship we've seen in the series when listing off how people see them.Last edited by LaZodiac; 2013-01-16 at 03:35 PM.

Re: Bleach VI: We Want Our Baby Bach Ribs (Aizen pull)
I'm not fully convinced that the answer is that the sword is the master. Not yet.
I'm throwing in my .02 cents as "the sword is you" and that any division between sword and wielder, no matter how positive the context is incorrect and insulting to the sword.

Looks like someone pulled an Aizen on Unohana. It's only a matter of time before the full character shattering takes place and it punctuated with a slicked back hairstyle.Homebrew:The Reaper-The Wild MageAvatar by Zarah

Re: Bleach VI: We Want Our Baby Bach Ribs (Aizen pull)
To be fair, Unohana's hair has always been tied up, it'd not IMPOSSIBLE to believe it's that long. And hey, we finally get the pay off of people being all scared of her and stuff.
I hate that I'm defending, even slightly, this manga, but I feel everything deserves some kind of defense. Usually.

Unohana's hair is actually a seal that keeps her spiritual pressure in check. The longer it is, the more reiatsu is bound. As it gets shorter, more of her power is released.

Re: Bleach VI: We Want Our Baby Bach Ribs (Aizen pull)
-_- It's not the fact that she's a closeted badass that I have an issue with. My problem is that she flipped the psycho switch in her brain that turned her from a respectable healer into an axe-crazy murder beast. Much like how Aizen could have been an amazingly complex villain, Unohana could have been the very avatar of the 'warrior scholar' concept. Instead, Kubo went with his trademark of rolling with an abrupt persona waffle. Lazy sod.

Re: Bleach VI: We Want Our Baby Bach Ribs (Aizen pull)
I'm inclined to disagree. If Unohana had been a Warrior Scholar it wouldn't make sense to have everyone be terrified of her. Warrior scholars just don't get that sort of reaction from people. Respect and admiration, sure. But nobody reacts to one like they react to a blood knight like Kenpachi, and reactions to Unohana have tended to be more of this latter sort, I feel.
Truth resists simplicity.

Re: Bleach VI: We Want Our Baby Bach Ribs (Aizen pull)
Since she was one of the original Captains, it's a given that she'd be a monster of some flavor. However, there is a vast quality difference between the discarded potential of her being a charismatic murderer (who has the self-mastery to seamlessly fit into society) and the actual reveal (which seems to imply that she's just a blood knight in sheep's clothing). The former would result in a far more complex, and subtle, malice which would flow organically from her quiet role thus far. The actual execution of this reveal, however, is shaping up to be just as poorly done as Giriko's personality waffle.
