The field of disruption that had eminated from the impact of his bio-lightning had proven to be too inefficient to disable most of their tech, which was evident as the Inquisitor had cowardly fled the bridge. Qaeviir had a feeling the arcs of shocking lightning that had been negated by the Inquisitor's psychic hood would have been successful at it though. "Hmph." was all he uttered from beneath his mask.

The Magister wasn't too surprised over the bloodletter attacking the Black Legion sorcerer though, seeing as they tend to get annoyed when someone takes their kills away. Vul had certainly done that with all those gauts of flames from before and made even more obvious due to the charred bodies on the bridge's floor.

Once again arcs of psychically-generated electricity flickered between his fingers before shooting out towards the group fighting in the middle of the bridge, this time aimed at the bloodletter. As one of the Changer's faithful he had no qualms about eliminating a lesser daemon of the Lord of Battle.

THe battle reaches a brutal conclusion. Even as the Captain dives out of the way of the worst of the psychic storm that tears apart cogitators and controls around him there is a massive pulse of heat that slams into his face... his head literally explodes. Superheated brains and skulls flaring across the room on a pillar of flame and steaming blood.

The bloodletter is distracted by the sight as a scant few seconds later the crackling net of psychic energy hits its horned face as its facade melts and bubbles before with a faint pop its cast back into the warp by the flare of psychic energy, the massive serrated blade dropping to the ground with a dull twang.

As the screams fade and the curses of the dying peter out the vox nets can still be heard screaming. The imperial ones on the bridge updating on the boarding action as the Reavers are pulling back and the ship rocks heavily as its guns continue to hammer the Reaver vessel. Your own micro beads giving an order for general retreat and return to the boarding pillars. The bounty of prisoners and slaves a good one even as some cost.

With the destruction of the bloodletter the Magister was a bit more content after the Inquisitor's escape and the captain's annoying luck. He walked around the cogitator bank, through the lingering smoke and rising vapors from all the victims of Vul's flamer. He did not think of any immediate matter to attend to as he had not noticed anything of value or importance by face value. He would be most interested to have investigated what the Inquisitor would have carried with him in forms of knowledge though.

Then he remembered the retinue. Psykers. His pace increased walking through the dead, avoiding them as best as he could, to reach the center of the bridge and the dead psykers. He needed to check their remains for anything of value. Any information or knowledge that looked or was important or interesting. Preferably something arcane or rare. They needed to leave soon, so searching them was the priority for now. Unfortunately the plasma had more or less evaporated them both, and their possessions at that. What knowledge had been destroyed irked the Magister a little. Now he could not know.

Vul growls in irritation as his kill is stolen by the magister. Looking around for more victims, he sees none to hand. With a curse, he sheaths his sword, sensing its machine-spirit's disappointment at the lack of blood split upon it. "Soon, soon..." he coos in a uncharacteristically gentle manner, stroking the blade's hilt with his free gauntlet.

Reaching down to the captain, he plucks the shielding technology from his cooling remains, fitting it comfortably on his person. He examines him for anything else worthwhile.

Next, Vul plucks the slain daemon's blade from the ground, examining it carefully. Good quality... he thinks, But not, I think, appropriate for my needs. He looks to Alicia. The girl on the other hand...

Vul secures the Hellblade to his person. Using his now free hand, he scoops up the downed form of the Khornate. She may yet prove useful. No sense in leaving her to die.

Before he leaves, Vul decides to help slow the ship's pursuit by viciously destroying the control consoles in the bridge with his chainfist.

When only the heat signature of the Terminator remains, Nephthys nods in confidence that the only remaining signs of life on the bridge are those of the followers of Chaos. He figures he has plenty of time because of the Terminators' sloth to take whatever he desires from the fallen, and leave the rest to rot and fester.

He likes this Melta weapon though, even if it is clearly meant for a smaller user.

He also takes the time to examine the pistol the bridge officer was using prior to their encountering the Inquisitor himself, as well as various other trinkets or devices either the officer or the Acolyte were using. Preferably, additional melta canisters.

"Human." Vul snaps at Qaeviir as he examines the corpses of the psykers. "Quickly. This human has several items of no use to me. A power saber, armor, a uniform, a chrono, and a stick of rank. Do you seek them?" Vul pauses as a thought occurs to him. "Perhaps the uniform might be a useful disguise for you on the planet. You should take it."

Having stood up from his investigation of the corpses and been looking around the immediate area Qaeviir could not find anything of note either. Seems bridges of imperial penal transports do not have much in the way of... interesting. At all. If they had more time he would take a look at some cogitator banks, potentially finding something useful. It was unfortunate.

Human? He must be refering to me. the Magister thought after hearing the sorcerer speak. He turned his head, wondering what he wanted of him. "Hmm." Such items were not particularly interesting to him, but they would assumably be of good quality when wielded by a high-ranking official. Perhaps he could learn something from studying them. The uniform was an interesting thought, though. The mask could be an issue if he was to disguise himself in such a way, though. But there is bound to exist eccentric imperials wearing masks, are there not? he thought to himself as he considered the suggestion, slightly smirking behind his mask.

Qaeviir walked over to where the captain lain headless inspected the equipment, picking up the sabre first of all, and fiddling with buttons to remove the uniform as it did not hurt to acquire it if needed. It would be be entertaining to sow deceptions that way if necessary. The stick of rank followed the uniform. He was unsure at this time what it signified or if it was a part of the uniform. A bit from the body he saw a plasma pistol that had been used by the captain as well, and put it inside one of the pouches of his robes. "I cannot carry the armour. If you intended me to. I would like to study it back on the ship, however." he told the Black Legionnaire. "Have another do such heavy lifting."

Remembered the captain had a plasma pistol too, and picked it up. Assuming it's best or good craftmanship as well? Best are the ones that doesn't overload, so I'm not sure what craftmanship it is.

Any cowering reaver alive to carry the armour for Qaeviir?

"Pathetic human armor is of no use to me. I merely sought to ensure that nothing potentially of value went to waste." Vul says, striding other to the area where he dropped his flamer. Transferring Alcia to his other hand, he retrieves his weapon. With a smile, he begins to set the bridge panels on fire. "Time to go, then?" Vul continues burning any controls and equipment on the bridge, as leaving it intact for the enemy to reclaim is not something he does.

The Magister looks around the room for any reaver still alive and able to carry the armour for him. There looks to be a few not dead, atleast. "You there. Carry the captain's armour for me. And a gift of most wonderful change will surely come to you." he told the one who seemed most able, his visage surely too frightening at this point to be denied his request. He started moving to the exit of the bridge as he thought of different things to do to the captain's equipment.

    Spoiler

For simplicity of carrying the armour I'm assuming there's atleast one reaver who's survived the chaos (probably by being a coward and hiding behind one of the cogitator banks) and can carry it for the Magister. He'd rather tell a reaver to do it than ask one of the followers of nurgle do it.

Vul takes some time in between burning and smashing the bridge to take a few bites from the captain's flesh, to learn some of what he knew in life. After the last of the Captain's belongings have been removed, Vul hoses down his body with fire as well. "It would make the enemy suspicious if they saw that we had removed his uniform," he explains, "This way, they won't be able to tell." Vul strides confidently out of the smashed, burning bridge, feeling good about himself.

THe heretics continue to strip the bodies of their items like common thieves. Nepthys rifling through the dead officer and acolyte finding some more clips for the strange ripper pistol and another two clips for the melta blaster. The officer also having a powersword nearby and the acolyte a pair of bolt pistols on his belt amongst trinkets and the like...

Reaching down and slowly taking off the massive helm Vul tears off a strip off the Captain's seared neck. Even as he nibbles on the Captain the magister stands alongside him stripping the body naked even with the molten and blood stained wreckage around the high collar.

Even as Vul chews on the Captain's flesh a rush of memories flow in from the omephegea... Memories of decades aboard the penal transporter. Flickering montages from the Limoges space station and then orbit above the penal stations on St Annards Penance. A sprawling mass of mines, penal barracks and forgeries with sprawling space piers above where prisoners are transferred down and finishedmetalworks transferred up. The Captain's life blossomed in the psyker's mind as he could see the inner workings of the "Penitent Star" the Carrack class vessel he was aboard and now felt like he knew his way around - even if only by instinct rather than design. He could feel the pride the fallen man had felt in the smooth order of the ship, the well drilled Arbites and officous and devout crew.

Of the prisoners he knew nothing and cared little leaving that to the Arbites nestled in their precinct fortress in the underdecks. The captain's concenrn with the running of the vessel - not with the lives of the 40'000 or so penal scum that were abandoned and barely fed in the near feral holding pens on the ship's 11 month round trip from Calixis to St. Annard.

The last trip had been different. A small strike cruiser intercepting them near the maw. The Inquisitor, a Lord Xarrow and his silent retinue of 4 - 2 of them sanctioned with brands. One a warrior with a military bearing and the 4th a lithe and beautiful women with ice in her gaze had accompanied him. He had given no reason and the Captain had not asked. The rosette of office demanding obedience, and with the orders being simply to continue to St. Annard there had been no conflict and the Inquisitor and retinue had kept to their quarters in the chapel.

The rest of the memories - the vast majority of them are a myriad of running the ship, drills, and travels through warp or space docking...

Aloud, he says, "Our adversary's name is Inquisitor Xarrow. This ship recently picked him and his retinue up from a small strike cruiser near the Vortex. He had four member of his retinue. Two psykers," Vul gestures to their corpses, "A military man," he gestures to the man's corpse, "And a woman, who does not seem to have been present on this bridge. They made their quarters in the chapel. We shall have to enquire about that."

The Magister let the hulking Astartes lead the way, and to take any incoming fire if they were to be ambushed on the way back to the reaver vessel. Trailing behind him was the heretek of nurgle, who had been surprisingly quiet since she had been unsuccessful at felling the Inquisitor even though she had spent quite a few bolter rounds at attempting that.

The march back is rapid. THe sounds of violence fading as the Reavers stream back towards their decript pirate ship. The tattered pirate vessel brutally hammered with hundreds dead as the prison transport had proved suprising resilient. A fact that the crazed Captain may live to regret...

THe way back is rapid as the Black Legion sorcerer leads them rapidly down small back passages and hidden gangways to circumvent the rapidly spreading Arbite Hunter teams...

As you approach the gaangway you can hear the sounds of screaming and violence and the heavy bark of Arbite shotguns over the screams of men locked in mortal combat. You estimate the carnage is happening maybe 50-60 around the next corner. THe blood splattered and body filled corridor kinking to the left at the T-junction some 5m ahead. The way right blocked by a heavy blastdoor- the warning signals flickering red indicating a lack of atmosphere on the other side. Its a long wait or a short fight...

Under ordinary circumstances the carnage would delight Nephthys, the carrion flesh decaying and festuring to bring life to the Lord of the Flies. However the pattern of humans marked with Chaos sigils outnumbering the dead Arbites or unmarked corpses became frustrating. Surely even fanatical Reavers are not so incompetent. Can they not hold a simple exit?! Regardless the prospect of the Inquisitor and the remaining Arbites starving to death aboard an inoperable vessel delighted the Plague Marine. He passes around the T-Junction, trying to get a look at the combat, and where to plant the next miniature sun he may launch into the crowd.

Qaeviir would rather stay within the bounds of atmosphere so the choice was easy until something changed. He let the power armoured hulks lead the way into the fray, having a quick look around the corner to see what kind of resistance there was and if he could get them past quicker.

Even as Vul drops the khornate and he and Nepthys stomp around the corner the other terminator, listing slightly with vital oils pouring out of the joins scoops up the Khornate with a murmered "I shall watch our rear." The magazine packed with hellfire glowing a dull green.

At the front the two marines burst/stomp around the corner to see the massive mangled torn metal where the boarding collar from their pirate vessel tore through the hull of the prison transport. The boarding collar lies some 50m away though the ground is strewn with bodies, smoke and discarded cartridges. All around the entrance to the boarding collar are Arbites. THick black armour, riot shield, shotguns and in a few cases heavier weapons. THey pour fire up the unseen chute where it answered by return fire as the reavers attempt to return fire and attempt to stop the Arbites counterboarding the Last Hope of the Dammned.

THe rear guard shouts Oaths to the Emperor and raise their weapons as Nepthys and Vul appear with weapons raised!

    Arbites there are 4 components:-
    There is a (+30) Horde.
There is a "Judge" (though currently out of view)
There are 2 senior Arbites (A riot boss and Gun boss) - again not obvious without looking for them amidst the mass of black carapace mixed 50:50 with riot shields.

    They are 50m away.

To answer your Question Vul. The vessel is carrying a relief Regiment fo Arbites to St Annard's Penance. So rather than just carrying crew and small Arbite contigent there is an additional 10'000 Adeptus Arbites on board
    - Or in Rogue Trader terms there is a Barracks that grants +20 to boarding actions and as the ship has beend esigned to resist prisoner riots it also has the effects of a Tenebro Maze (+20 to resist boarding).

    - The result in Rogue Trader is a vessel that looks like easy prey but is suprisingly hard to board.

The Plague Marine quickly examines the battlefield. A rather large group of Arbites. So loyal. So unquestioning as to the Imperial Law. It's funny, really. If any one of them were to question then they could only come to one conclusion. For now though, their rotting corpses will suffice in an offering to the Corpse God. In a mangled parody that could only come from the rotting throat of an eternally dying man, Nephthys belches out a warcry tainted with the rot of Nurgle, laced with the malevolent will to steal the words right out of his enemies. Fooor the Emppperooooooor! Plasma Cannon raised, the Plague Marine fires a miniature sun into the ranks of the Arbites. A miniature sun whose roaring fury echoes in amused contempt at the plastic shields of the Imperial slaves.

Vul simply feels irritated. Having been cheated of the true prize by the cowardice of the Inquisitor, these worms are simply delaying him. He doubts he'll even feel particularly amused by their slaughter. Shrugging, he takes aim at what looks like an important man and fires.

Qaeviir thought it was surprising how well-organized the guards were on this penal transport. They liked to be in their way, and they were in a hurry to leave. The Magister was dissatisfied in himself that he did not have the necessary arcane knowledge to manifest a spell or a psychic power that could encompass an area from this range. Like the Changer's Storm of Change. The lore about that particular power he had read before, but he had had no way of successfully manifesting it however much he tried. He was missing the Mark. He would need to get much closer to disrupt their technology, as the range of his bio-lightning would not reach without pushing his power to the limit — something he was not comfortable doing at the moment.

Hidden behind the cover of the corner at the corridor, the khornate down against the wall, he closed his eyes and probed out with his warpsight attempting to detect anyone or anything with a psychic signature in their way.

The pair of marines burst around the corner, the ball of plasma vapourising several of the arbites. The Gun captain, hefting a glittering engraved combat shotgun is blown away in an instant. A massive pair of autocannon shells tearing huge plate sized holes in his chest as his guts are blown across the corridor.

The arbites respond well. And quickly. A half dozen of them with combat shields and power mauls leaping in the way of the others as they drop down forming a large barrier. An officer in the centre with a long powerblade on his arm instead commanding them.

The rest of the them lean the shotguns over the barrier as a hail of shots ring out - a brutal mix of flammable inferno shells and heavy adamantine cored amputator shells. The shells and bolts ringing out around the two marines... One of the weapon troopers leaning over with his boxy grenade launcher, the fat grenade flying towards Vul and Nepyths ina vast explosion of flames.

Within the hail of fire you cannot see the Judge as he battles within th entranceway of the Dammned but you can hear the orders ringing out from there.
