Re: Things You Never Noticed III: The Search for Spot
I had never noticed the toy that Eric Greenhilt is playing with in strip 600. Nice black dragon foreshadowing!

Re: Things You Never Noticed III: The Search for Spot
I don't know if this is even a thing, but when Redcloak admits he killed Tsukiko, Xykon replied something about killing 'uppity' minions. Could this have been a subtle jab about (SoD)

Re: Things You Never Noticed III: The Search for Spot
The mama Dragon. Panel 7.
The toy Dragon. Panel 9.
How exactly are they different by appearance, except for size, and the sewing line?Last edited by Codyage; 2013-03-05 at 11:43 AM.

Re: Things You Never Noticed III: The Search for Spot
I just now noticed Belkar has a sword-shaped bruise all up on his face in the last panel.
Well, the toy Dragon is clearly a less detailed version of the real black dragon. Exactly how toys in the real world are. It's actually pretty impressive, the level of detail that went into that (even though, ya know, less detail went into the toy dragon. Still).
Also, martianmister, it's a dragon, and it's black. I'm also curious in how you think it doesn't look like a black dragon.Last edited by Peelee; 2013-03-05 at 12:01 PM.

Durkon tries to cast Holy Word in the second to last panel only to be stopped by the AoO.
Seems like Durkon has been a decent level for a while...

So I just re-read SoD for the first time since I tarted watching stargate.
Needless to say, I got a great laugh out of page 87 where previously I was just confused.

Re: Things You Never Noticed III: The Search for Spot
And here's where I pull the colorblind card! I have issues with anything close together on the spectrum (dark reds and browns, for instance, or light greens and yellows). Looks like a darkish grey to me, which equates to black for a plushie. If it is green, my mistake.
Oh, and purple. Can't see purple. Ever. Nice, blue wings on that dude.Last edited by Peelee; 2013-03-05 at 02:29 PM.

Re: Things You Never Noticed III: The Search for Spot
It doesn't look green to me. Horace's armour- that's a good example of dark green. The dragon is grey enough that it's reasonable to say it's representing a black dragon, not a green. Especially with the purple wings and the purple-ish eyes.

Re: Things You Never Noticed III: The Search for Spot
If you look carefully at the scrabble board in strip 31, you'll see that the word on the triple word score is not long enough to be "zyqxuwy." Also, you can't spell a seven letter word in scrabble, using only one tile already on the board, and have two tiles left, as the Illithid does (but if he did make that six-letter word that is on the triple word score, he could).
@V But... but... but... You still can't spell zyqxuwy with only six tiles!Last edited by Zweisteine; 2013-03-05 at 04:01 PM.

Re: Things You Never Noticed III: The Search for Spot
Isn't that the same dragon that the MITD and Right-Eye's son are playing with in SOD?
He clearly pronounces it in a different font; that's what matters.

Re: Things You Never Noticed III: The Search for Spot
in 453, the assassin is making a joke about the Conservation of Ninjitsu.
A game is a fictional construct created for the sake of the players, not the other way around. If you have a question "How do I keep X from happening at my table," and you feel that the out-of-game answer "Talk the the other people at your table" won't help, then the in-game answers "Remove mechanics A, B, and/or C, impose mechanics L, M, and/or N" will not help either.

Re: Things You Never Noticed III: The Search for Spot
I couldn't find a better place to ask this, so I'm going to do it here. In #309 Haley says "I'm not exactly --". I don't believe this was ever resolved in-comic.
What are the most popular theories about what she is not? I remember "not human" was one, but it seems unlikely, considering both of her parents look 100% humans. Anything else?

Comic 701, Redcloak looking at his reflection and saying it will all be worth it... in the mirror, he looks very, very similar to someone else.
SpoilerRight-Eye, obviously.

Re: Things You Never Noticed III: The Search for Spot
I have reread through the comic from the start to the latest strip on multiple occasions, in both book form and online. Only during my most recent read through did I noticed that panel 5 of strip 528 is different depending on which medium you are reading (in the online version, Roy says he wishes he could look through the archive, in the print version Roy wishes he could read through the previous books)
Quite possibly been mentioned in the "things you never noticed" threads before, but amused me nonetheless!
