A493: You get bonus power points for high ability scores from each class seperately and add both to your power point pool.

A494: The maximum Manifester Level for a power you learned as a psion is your psion class level, and the maximum manifester level for powers learned as a wilder is your wilder class level.
Prestige-Classes are counted to either one or another of your manifesting classes, never both or all three of them.

    Q495
Correct me if I'm wrong, but a level 7 whatever / level 1 Blackguard casts his Blackguard spell (spells plural only if his wisdom is 20 or more) with a caster level of 1, despite being a level 8 character? Can the Practiced Spellcaster feat mitigate this weakness somewhat? Are there other reasonably non-cheesy ways to make up the caster level deficit, compared to a single-class Paladin?

Yes, his caster level is 1 and he can use practised spellcaster to increase it to 5. The caster level deficit is removed on its own over the 10 levels of Blackguard. Contrary to the paladin, the blackguard's caster level is equal to his blackguard level. So a Blackguard 10 would have the same caster level as a Paladin 20, he even gets it earlier if the PRC is entered before ECL 10.

Yup. As of Level 4 a Paladin is a spellcasting class. Practiced Spellcaster allows you to increase your CL for your spellcasting class by 4 up to your HD.

    Q 496

I'm unclear on how exactly the DMG item Eyes of Charming actually works. In the SRD it is described as a "gaze attack" but limited to one target per round... which is not how gaze attacks normally work (they happen automatically).

The Magic Item Compendium does not use the term "gaze attack" in its short description, but simply says "Charm Person at will".
So am I guessing correctly that it just is a use activated item and requires a standard action to use?

As far as the srd version is concerned, it's like Charm Person at will (requiring a standard action like the spell does), but worse, because opponents can avoid it the same way they avoid other gaze attacks.

    How do gaze attacks work?

A creature with a gaze attack can actively attempt to use its gaze as an attack action.
Does that mean that everyone within LOS of the creature is required to save once and the creature can force additional saves on single creatures for each attack action it has? So a single creature could be forced to make three saves if the creature does not move and has a BAB of 6 or more?

    Dumb question.
Since GoI functions rather a lot like anti-magic field, does that mean that Lesser Orb of X and Orb of X spells still work on a target protected by a GoI?

Line of sight is necessary, but not sufficient, for a gaze attack to function; you must also be within range.
Gaze (Su): A gaze special attack takes effect when opponents look at the creature’s eyes.
You're in range when you succeed on a Spot check sufficient to see the creature's eyes. Most eyes are Fine objects, resulting in a Spot DC of 0 within 10', with penalties for greater distance. See the Spot skill for further details.

Hmm, while the DMG also starts with the opponent looking into the creature's eyes, it does not mention any spot checks, just the range of the power (as per the creature's description) and then goes on that each creature in range must make a saving throw. It does not mention that the creature must succeed at a spot check to force the save, and even creatures actively averting their eyes only get a 50% chance.

    Q 501

Are there items similar to mirror shades in any of the books to avoid gaze attacks without granting the creature (total) concealment?

    A 500 Yes.

From page 142 of Player's Handbook:
Drawing a weapon so that you can use it in combat, or putting it away so that you have a free hand, requires a move action. This action also applies to weapon-like objects carried in easy reach, such as wands.
A wand in an appropriate holster or other carrier which keeps it in easy reach can be drawn in the same manner as a weapon can be drawn from its scabbard.

    A 503 No.

A krau sigil might help qualify a multiclass Artificer for some item crafting prerequisites, though single-class Artificers won't be improved. However, the sigil has no effect on infusion power.
For purposes of meeting item prerequisites, an artificer’s effective caster level equals his artificer level +2. If the item duplicates a spell effect, however, it uses the artificer’s actual level as its caster level.

In general, psionic characters learn a power and that's it (Psychic Reformation excepted). The GM might allow the use of Retraining rules from PHB2, but otherwise there's no general method of changing them. If you want a psionic character with a wide variety of powers who selects a few to use each day, check out the Erudite from Complete Psionic.

Assuming you actually mean Intuitive Attack, you have identified these bonuses as coming from different named sources.
    Stacking

In most cases, modifiers to a given check or roll stack (combine for a cumulative effect) if they come from different sources and have different types (or no type at all), but do not stack if they have the same type or come from the same source (such as the same spell cast twice in succession).
