    Another example:
    2 invested essentia + PA (-1 BAB + 1 damage) = +1 damage (PA) + 1 (Cobalt Power)
Basically, the bonus is equal to the minimum of the penalty you take from PA and the amount of essentia you invest.

That, and immunity to poison prevalent in higher levels.

What is the point of using Cobalt Power? Investing essentia (maximum 3 or little more) to gain 3 bonus damage with PA?

    A 905 Yes.

From page 137 of Unapproachable East:
Like alcoholic drinks, jhuild is technically a poison, and a character who drinks it must succeed on a Fortitude saving throw (DC 12) to avoid its effect; those who desire it may voluntarily fail this saving throw.
From page 59 of Races of Stone:
Participating in Drink-and-Tell: It generally takes a successful DC 15 Perform (comedy) or Perform (oratory) check to earn the cheers of the circle. Unfortunately, the mead brewed for drink-and-tell, though tasty, is known to slur speech more than most alcohol, making success in later rounds more diffi cult. Drink-and-tell mead is technically an ingested poison (DC 14 Fort save; 1d3 Cha/1d3 Cha), although it only induces drowsiness and reduces speech to a slurred gibberish. It isn’t otherwise dangerous.
Also see page 44 of Cityscape, where drinking game "rules are intentionally simple (and far kinder than real life)" and specify that saving throw bonuses to resist poison are applied to reduce the effects of alcohol.

Alcohol in D&D is treated as a weak poison with special rules, but it will show up with Detect Poison.

Are there any rules for alcohol in 3.5? I f they are grandfathered in from 3.0, Where can I find them?

And this is a question that is outside the scope of the thread. "Why" and "What is the point" questions call for opinion, and should be discussed elsewhere. I invite you to open a new thread for that particular discussion.

Not if you succeed at the DC 20 Wisdom/Craft(Alchemy) checks. Then you get aclohol plus whatever else is there. Unfortunately the spell does not specify if one check is enough to identify several poisons.

Clerics and Paladins have no automatic detection abilities. They have to consciously use Detect Evil or similar mechanisms. (Paladins can use Detect Evil at will, without casting a spell, but "at will" always represents a conscious choice.)

See the table on page 159 of Complete Warrior. Note that you normally must be of Huge size to be allowed to throw such a rock two-handed.

Shield Sling modifies your thrown weapon attacks, while Blade Storm allows you to make a thrown weapon attack against as many targets at you wish, so yes, they "stack".

Feytouched are found in Fiend Folio, and are a race, not a template, much like Planetouched.

Yes, on the next full moon all the characteristics of lycanthropy would manifest. However, this question is irrelevant in any game which uses Spell Compendium, because Curse of Lycanthropy has been updated in that book to be quite a different spell.

    Q913

A few questions, that I need to clarify to know how mad I should be at some fellow players:

Can you, by RAW, take flaws on your character? I would think not, but there seems to be a lot of threads assuming their use.

In general, what is a variant rule? Are UA variant rules special in some way?

Yes, if your DM decides that this campaign will use flaws. Variant rules differ from other rules in that they modify/override certain core rules instead of just adding to them. Just as with any other supplementary rules the gaming group decides whether to use them or not.

    Q914

Swift and Immediate actions.: In a surprise round where you can only do standard actions can you also do Swift and Immediate ones? (As those didn't exist when PHB1 was written)

Also can you do ANY swift action while nauseated?

Q915 Not sure if this is really a RAW question but....

The spell "Sending" says you must "You contact a particular creature with
    which you are familiar"

Does it list anywhere exactly HOW familiar you have to be (or solo DM call)?
Is spying on someone good enough?
    What if they are disguised?

    Q196
The Warlock ability Vitriolic Blast: This makes a Warlock's blast leave acid damage lasting for rounds
    For example, a 15th-level warlock
deals 2d6 points of acid damage
per round for 3 rounds after the initial
    vitriolic blast attack.
    Will this stack with itself?
A quickened warlock blast doing 4D6 per round for 3 rounds.?

    The Surprise Round

If some but not all of the combatants are aware of their opponents, a surprise round happens before regular rounds begin. Any combatants aware of the opponents can act in the surprise round, so they roll for initiative. In initiative order (highest to lowest), combatants who started the battle aware of their opponents each take a standard action during the surprise round. You can also take free actions during the surprise round. If no one or everyone is surprised, no surprise round occurs.
You can take a swift action any time you would normally be allowed to take a free action.
    A 917 No.
