The seismic energy presses against the barrier again, with the same cracking noise as before... but this time, the barrier doesn't quite break, a few wisps of white energy remaining present. Richard smirks at you and replies, "It's working well enough... Mek, Metal Claw!" The Metang spins and swipes upward with a silvery claw, slicing into Stark's armor.

With a metallic cry, the Metang falls, drifting to the ground. Richard recalls it, and says, "Alright... let's see how you deal with this one. Belch, go - Hidden Power!" He releases a Pokemon, resembling a green sack with brown arms, into the air above Stark. As it falls, it releases a burst of swirling winds which batter Stark about, ending by slamming the Golett into the wall, where it falls unconscious.

Time for something a bit creative. Buck, jump on that piston! The Scraggy hikes up its pants, hopping onto the nearby piston. As the piston rotates down, about ready to push back up, Lorenzo shouts. Jump, now! Moving with the pistons upward motion, Buck springs off the mechanics, flying high into the air. Now, dive! Twisting in the air the little mon begins a dive bomb head first at the garbage bag. It better work. He hoped it worked. It had to work.

You see Richard's eyes widen as Buck hops onto the Piston, agilely landing right on top and avoiding harm from the piston itself, though another small stone streaks out of nowhere to slam into the Scraggy's chest. As the piston launches the Scraggy upward, it flips through the air, before slamming head first into the green Pokemon, throwing it for a loop.

Buck flickers from view before slamming a dark fist into the garbage-like Pokemon, knocking it back into the wall. It slumps over, unconscious, and Richard sighs. "Well... that's match to you, then," he says as he recalls the Pokemon, before hopping back across the pistons to you. "Here's the wager, as agreed, and your challenge token. Just bear in mind, you'll have a tougher time against the leader... Anyway, our medic is out at the moment, so you'll have to head to the Pokecenter if you want to have your team healed. Later!" He leads you back into the gym's lobby as he talks, before heading out himself, presumably to the Pokecenter.

The area is just as you saw before - a large lake fed into from the west by a small river. Registry and sign-in booths are in several spots, with numerous boats along the lakeshore so that competitors can fish from on the lake itself.

I'll keep that in mind.... What was his deal? Lorenzo dashes to the Center, healing up the duo, rotating his team. He releases Nebulas and Skizz feeding them each their berries. After that was sorted away, he return's Skizz to the box, along with Wee Jas and Tongues. He then brings Doubles back out, keeping Nebulas with him.

Team healed and rotated, he heads to the lake, grabbing the basic rod, 5 pokeballs and signing up for the contest at the last minute

By the time you wake up, nearly everyone else is out of the house, Haruka's parents likely out tending to Pokemon on the ranch while the others are at the fishing contest.

Haruka's father mentions a couple of fishing books that you find rather easily - you pick up a bit more basic knowledge on fishing, though from what you can tell it's a sport more of skill, patience and luck than anything.

Everyone Fishing
You all finish gathering your gear and checking in for the fishing contest - there's about 50 people competing, from the looks of things, and you see half a dozen Pokemon out - all of you notice Zakar lingering near the edges of the crowd, what looks to be a homemade fishing pole in hand.

As you gather, the officials reiterate the rules - you have 5 hours to catch as many aquatic Pokemon as you can. They must be hooked on your line, and then caught - either in Pokeballs, or in nets or some other container. Anything you catch is yours to keep. Prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in four categories - Most, Heaviest, Strongest and Rarest. The third place finisher in each category gets 2500 Meseta, second place gets 7500, and first place gets 15000 Meseta and a Premier Rod. Any form of interference with the other competitors results in an immediate disqualification.

The officials then take a moment to answer any questions before beginning the contest - many of the competitors take to boats to head farther into the water, while some simply fish from the shore, and one competitor even hovers over the lake riding a large, blue metallic quadruped Pokemon. Several empty boats are along the shoreline if you want to head farther into the lake.

Haruka walks along the shore a ways, taking note of Daniel, and simple picks a spot and casts a line a few times to get the hang of it.
