As the small group huddled around the registrar's desk, the door blew open as a red-haired girl in a long black cloak burst through it in a flurry of movement, rebounded off a desk, almost tripped over her cloak, and landed in a pile of robes and limbs on the ground in front of them.

Hey guys! I made it, right? This is Class registration? says the pile as a fiery head with stunningly cyan eyes pokes out of the pile inquiringly as Quill looks up at the group.

"This is student affairs, yes. Are you okay?"

Aldaric walked around, trying to find campus grounds, but it seems that fate intervened as he found Student's Affairs first. He shrugged and went in.
'Could as well sign up for classes.' He listens to the explanation and thinks with only slight irony 'So... there are 2 classes... and both required... Hmm I must think deeply about my options...' ... and he signed up for both subjects.

"Would you be so kind to tell us, what exactly would we learn during these classes?" he asks politely.

"Basic alchemy will teach you the basics of using the labs, and teach you how to make your first few items. Basic combat, will teach you how to fight, and will test your combat skills as a group."

"The combat one... is it weapon training or simply combat? It does make a slight difference..." he says with a smile.

"They send you into the living dungeon with the instruction to kill a certain monster. Of course you have a teacher escort."

"Ah, I see. Is there anything else planned for today, other than the tour and signing up for classes?" asks Aldaric, looking around to see what other students gathered there and to check their reactions to the mention of fighting monsters.

"Nope that's it. Oh and you'll all need these." She hands you what look like...tickets? They're labelled. "Basic Combat Pass."

When you look confused.

"The living dungeon is entered via dropping an item onto an altar. However the dungeon is the same, if you drop the same item. We experimented and designed these passes to enable standardized testing and courses."

"So... There is some kind of altar... and when we put an item there, a dungeon opens... and it could be different depending on the item? ... So what, if we use a dragon scale, would we find a dragon lair?" he asks still slightly confused.

"Possibly. Monsters are also generated by the dungeon. However through experimentation we have discovered they do not have souls of any kind, so do not feel bad about slaying them."

"I guess it would be easier to learn this one by experience than theory...
Do we have both classes everyday? What is the first one tomorrow and when does it start?" He thinks for a while and adds "I guess the answer to 'where are the classes held' would be helpful as well."

"Are there regulations on using the dungeons? Can we go in whenever we want if we feel like fighting a monster?

If they could he was definitely going to be spending some free time in the dungeons.

She hands you all papers with your classrooms and times.

"Regulations on going in the dungeons. No there isn't. Oh that reminds me!"

She hands you all a small charm that looks like angel wings. "This is a wing of icarus. If you get knocked out you'll be teleported to the infirmary and healed. Do NOT go into the wild or the dungeon without it on."

"Anything else that we need to know?" He asks just to be sure. He was about to go few questions earlier, but it seems that once for every two questions they are given something strictly necessary to their survival here. 'Better to ask again...'

Aveline sits back now, content to listen to the back and forth of the other students. However, as soon as she obtains her schedule with class locations, she merely nods farewell to the others and begins to head back to her rooms. Dinner had long since past, and Aveline was tired. There was a lot to do tomorrow!

"Anything else that we need to know?" He asks just to be sure. He was about to go few questions earlier, but it seems that once for every two questions they are given something strictly necessary to their survival here. 'Better to ask again...'

She checks the book a few more times. "No that looks like it. If I forgot something you can tell the teachers I screwed up."

She smiles at you. "Have a nice day."

Aldaric nods politely and walks out, once again trying to find the last place from his list, Campus Grounds.

Not really hard to find the grounds. It's the area with no roof over it's head. The grounds are quite large, when you wander around you eventually find a farm. Maybe they grow stuff here for use in alchemy, but you notice they have some birds too.

He looks for anything interesting, like entrance to the dungeon or big sign 'Do NOT enter! Forest of Death'. But if he doesn't find anything like that he just goes back to the building with a disappointed look on his face.

Almost dinner time.

You don't find the living dungeon, or any "forest of death" but there are plenty of different kinds of terrain. A lake, a normal forest, plains, heck even a small mountain.

None of it seems all that dangerous, which makes sense given this is a school.

"Aww!" he says anyway and goes back so he doesn't miss another meal today.

Sebastian also heads back so that he doesn't miss dinner. He makes a mental note to never leave the emblem on his desk or bedside table. Although he does briefly wonder where he would be taken if he put the emblem on the altar.

Alembic listens to everything in silence - although when he's told that there are only two classes available and that both of them are required, he facepalms while grumbling something about 'standardized education'.

Once all of the various papers and items are handed out, he efficiently stows everything in his backpack and follows Sebastian out towards the dinner hall. He knows that his friend is planning on going into the dungeon - probably sooner rather than later - and suspects that there will be several 'experiments' with the altar that was mentioned. Undoubtedly it will be up to him to get them out of trouble when they get in over their heads...again.

Feeling that it's nearly time to eat, he turns to his friend and says, "Dinner?"

"That's a fairly redundant question considering where we are."

He wasn't planning on getting into any major trouble but the altar did sound interesting, there was no way anyone could say that there was nothing interesting about an altar that could apparently fold space and create infinite amounts of matter for laughs, even if it couldn't make souls.

Sebastian was rather excited about the possibilities of this place even if he could see a few problems with the emblems, what if you starved or where swallowed hole or killed without being knocked out first? It all seemed dangerous enough that he was not going to be the reckless one on this occasion.

Alembic rolls his eyes in response to the comment. As the two prepare to eat, he mentions what is obviously on both their minds.

"We'll need more than two to be safe exploring. Warrior. Trap finder."

Aveline sits on her bunk. Her fingers play idly over her new charm, her mind consumed by fire. It fills the spaces between her thoughts, clearing them of extraneous garbage. Every detail that had been crammed into her head over the last few hours boils down to a few simple conclusions. It had been a long time coming, but Aveline could already tell that this school was where she belonged.
I wonder... if they expect us to usually be working in a group, should I really sign up with those boys? They seem kind of strange, and to be honest I prefer working alone. But I guess I'm strange too. If I have to be paired off with people, we might as well be birds of a feather. The darkness of Aveline's room is soothing, a stark contrast to the late afternoon sunlight from outside her window. It helps her think.

Aldaric finds his way to the dinner, not late this time. He looks at other first years and says with a smile to the ones close to the place where he sat "Hello to all of you. I am Aldaric and it is a pleasure to meet all of you. I hope we would have a lot of fun and learn a lot during our time in the Academy

Sebastian was hardly paying attention to what was happening at dinner but it was rather difficult to ignore the boy named Aldaric introducing himself to the entire first year. Aldaric had sat down next to him so it was only polite to try making conversation, Hopefully without offending him.

"You seem very happy to be here, I can't blame you of course this place is amazing. I am Sebastian and this is Alembic, Its nice to meet you."

He was probably messing it up again.

Aldaric turns to Sebastian and smiles "The pleasure is mine. " He says with a polite nod and continues "It is a great place to be and I don't think we would need to worry about getting bored in this place. Of course. We will see for sure tomorrow." He starts eating, although shows that he doesn't mind conversation.

Alembic nods at the boy who sits down with them when Sebastian introduces him, but doesn't look up from his plate of food.

"Looking forward to class. Planning for dungeon trips. I make potions, various uses - healing, aid, explosions. You?"

Despite the oddly clipped and informal speech pattern, the lanky dark haired boy does not sound unfriendly, merely terse.

Aldaric turns to the other boy "Basic magic." he says, raising his hand and creating a small ball of bright light with some focus. He smiles and continues "Nothing big... but it runs in the blood. ... And works magic with the ladies." his smile widens at the last sentence.

He extinguishes the light and gathers some food on a separate plate beside him, after that he takes one of his white gloves, from the right hand. Underneath is a black tattoo of a bird.
"You need to eat something too, my friend." he says and the tattoo starts moving, changing. After a short while a live raven sits on his hand. It looks around and hops towards the food which was just prepared for it.
"Sebastian, Alembic... meet Rocza. Rocza, meet my new classmates." he says... and the bird answers. "Honored to meet you." ... and turns back to eating.
