No, that's Dream Dirk that replaced Real Dirk. Brain Ghost Dirk is a sliver of himself in someone else's mind (notably Jake's). Of course, this Hope-splosion may be changing that.

Dirk is basically a spiritual equivalent of Aradia - whereas Aradia constructed an army of doomed-timeline selves to bring to the final battle, Dirk plants his psyche everywhere - his glasses, his robots, his friends' heads, everywhere. Instead of duplicating himself, he splinters himself to create his forces.

I think Draconi Redfir is talking about what happened in the dream bubble.

Which could just be Brain Ghost Dirk being replaced by Dream Dirk and returning to Jake's mind. Unless he was still in Jake's mind anyway despite remaining in the dream bubble after Jake woke up. Alternately, maybe he did merge with Dream Dirk and Jake's brain generated a new Brain Ghost Dirk. It's not clear how much difference there is between those -- and various other possible -- scenarios, or if there's even a difference at all.

[EDIT]Actually, I remember mentioning that Dirk seemingly must have acquired knowledge from Brain Ghost Dirk, because after he woke up he seemed to know at least some things that he didn't before. E.g. realizing that the fenestrated wall led to Roxy's home when previously he had wondered where it went to. (I think. I'm working from memory here.) In which case, I guess that there was at least a partial merging, but maybe Brain Ghost Dirk also stayed in Jake's mind, because various copies of him going to different places is kind of how Dirk works, INCLUDING SAID COPIES POSSIBLY??

To recap his deal, Brain Ghost Dirk knows lots of stuff due to living in Jake's mind because Jake had lots of previously-untapped usefulness hidden deep within him due to being a Page, and he's an uncannily accurate Dirk simulator both because of Jake's Page powers and Dirk's Heart powers. Right? Someone correct me if I made a mistake.[/EDIT]

Wait a minute, I'm pretty sure there's a relevant quote:

DIRK: God my existence is weird.

That's really all there is to say on the matter.

M34nwh1le, Terezi is beating down on the clown. I'd be a lot happier about this turn of events if it wasn't reducing the odds of Jade staying dead a little longer. (I have nothing against Jade, but as long as The Condesce is sucking oxygen, she's a threat to everyone else.)

UPD8: And now Aranea is all "Come at me, Bro." The last time we saw a Serket make a challenge like that, Tavros died. Maybe Dirk will be lucky and she'll just sed8 him in mid-charge....

but if you do, well your brain Dirk anyways, so your just as smart as Jake, and…thats not saying much, to be honest.

IIRC, Dirk is immune to mind control due to being a heart player. Aranea may or may not know that, though.

    It's probably the latter.

Also on a side note, why the spoilers? It's not like HS is a TV show or something, unless this thread's chock full of new readers everyone can see the update at the same time.

Because sometimes people might be reading this thread without realising Hussie just posted an update.

It's not as if he has a regular update schedule.

I've noticed it happens most frequently during off hours and weekends when updates come up. Even the MSPA servers can get overrun when everyone and their dog has an update notifier.

    So we've got a potentul Dave/Jane and John/Roxy. They'll be dating one annother's moms.

Don't think Jade/Dirk would be able to happen though. and Jake/Rose is unlikely as well as Jake appears turned off from all forms of relaitionship for the moment.

On a slightly more serious note, I think there is a certain logic here. Jane's view of her own attractiveness has taken a couple of hits throughout the last few months, and noone has really shown an interest in her. Now, remember that Dave was a pop culture icon in her timeline. So, a comment like that from him has a certain degree of gravity it might not have if it had come from, say, Karkat or someone else.

I just can't get over how darn cute this all is. But yeah, I dunno, because Dave/Jade could still be a thing. Gaaaah, there aren't enough ship-slots left. Poor unpaired people.

I hope Jade is revived. If she died for good, that'd be so terribly terrible.
