(I guess I'll just go with Mirabelle, Tomas, Morosse and Marcellus)

"Hello? Is someone there? I mean you no harm. I am Sándor, last champion of the Three Thrones. I have cleansed this place of the foul orcs who have occupied it."

Then, in a whisper, he says to Marcellus, "I'm not sure what we're dealing with here, but repeat that in Celestial, to be sure."

He also whispers to the others, "Keep an eye out for any danger or threats. And... don't touch anything."

Sándor walks carefully over to one of the alcoves and examines (without touching) one of the porcelain urns.

[Maquise]

Most of the writing is in an intricate, flowing script you do not recognize. At the back of the room there is large, opaque glass panel.

You notice what looks like an empty space back behind the glass panel.

"Do any of you recognize or understand this writing? Celestial perhaps? Or Elvish?"

[Maquise]

"Looks like some form of Elvish," Morosse says. "They appear to be names."

[OzzyKP]

"Do you understand Elvish?"

Sándor walks over to the glass panel, examining it closely. "Hey, what do you guys make of this?"

[Maquise]

"I have a limited understanding of it," Morosse says.

You examine the glass panel. Tomas says, "It is likely there's another chamber behind it."

[OzzyKP]

"Can anyone see a way back there? Besides, of course, smashing the glass?"

Sometime tells Sándor he was wise to not bring Garm along for this.

[Maquise]

As you reach out, a cold wind blows down over you. The lights dim, and a strange mist fills all exits from the chamber.

From forth the mists rise a dozen humanoid figures. They gain focus and clarity as they approach; they are the warriors from your dream. The commander, whose image is upon the statue, stands between you and the glass while the rest stand in a circle around you.

In a voice that while loud seems like a whisper, or spoken from a great distance away, he says, "Which one of you takes responsibility for this intrusion?"

[OzzyKP]

(Frosty has dreams, I don't :P)

Taken aback by the strange apparitions, but not afraid, Sándor steps forward and says, "I take full responsibility, but I mean no harm to you or this place. I am Sándor, last champion of the Three Thrones. I have cleansed this place of the foul orcs who have occupied it. I sought merely to understand more of this place. I came... seeking Truth."

[Maquise]

The spirit responds, "I, General Celairon Dryearurdrenn, declare you trespassers within this sacred of places. Sándor, I challenge you to honorable combat. Prove you are worth to defend mighty Linedekaima against the forces of evil." He draws a long, slender curve blade from his sheath.

[OzzyKP]

Surprised once again, but once again not afraid, Sándor takes a moment to consider this General, trying to remember what he knew about elven generals and spirits who may remain behind in defense of forts such as this. Battle with the spirit of an elf general from a forgotten age, so much for having a quiet evening to celebrate his victory over Gorgeroth.

"Very well," he said, "if this is how you would have it, I accept." Raising his sword vertically in front of his face, the hilt just below his chiseled jaw, Sándor salutes his opponent as is proper for duels such as these. After waiting for his opponent to respond, or otherwise indicate he is ready to begin, Sándor completes the salute, dropping his sword to his side and slashes down at the pointy eared apparition.

You bring your sword around, slashing through the spirit. The spirit retaliates, drawing a thin, shallow cut over your cheek.

Take 5 damage.

(Do I find anything about about him at all? And I suppose I'm able to do damage to him as normal? I've never fought a ghost before, heh)

Sándor pulls back just as the spirit's blade comes near his face. Thankfully he moves in time and the general's cut is but a shallow one. Sándor responds with a cut of his own.

With one blow, you end the conflict. The spectral warrior sheathes his blade.

"I yield to thee, Sir Sándor. You have proven yourself worthy of these halls. You may pass freely." The mist at the exits dissipates, and the glass slides away, revealing a further chamber. Celairon steps to the side.

[OzzyKP]

"Well, I wish he stuck around to talk. Oh well."

Sándor explores the newly opened chamber.

(He's still there)

"Well, I wish he stuck around to talk. Oh well." Sándor thinks, in his head, and totally not out loud at all, before realizing "Oh, he's actually standing right next to me."

Turning to the ghostly figure who inexplicably has been standing next to him the whole time Sándor says, "General Dryearurdrenn, it was an honor to duel with you. I am quite interested to know the history of this place, and of you. While I am quite new to this area I am impressed with this fort and after all the orc filth is cleaned out I am interested in possibly restoring the glory of this place and using it as a key step toward turning back the darkness. Please tell me the story of Linedekaima."

[Maquise]

"Linedaikama was first constructed by the Sun Elves under the order of Marastrianna, Golden Empress of the Wind. It was built to protect this land against the scourge of the Dread Lords. For fourteen centuries has it stood, from citadel of the Sun Elf to most recently, refuge of the rotten orc. And now you have returned it to the light."

[OzzyKP]

"Who are the Dread Lords? Where are the Sun Elves? When did you live?"

[Maquise]

"The Dread Lords worshipped the chromatic dragons, many centuries ago. Their kind is long gone from the earth. I battled the during the Time of Dragons. "

[OzzyKP]

"What secrets does Linedaikama hold? Is there anything here that can help us in our fight against evil? I see the stairs to the top of the tower have fallen, what lies at the top?"

Thinking several steps ahead (as he often did) he added, "And tell me more about yourself and your companions. Are you all tied to this place? Sworn to defend the fort, even in death? Are you able to help defend Linedaikama from any evil forces who may try to take it and befoul it?"

[Maquise]

(Sorry about the delay, I forgot it was my turn to post)

"Atop the tower was a lookout where sentries could spot anyone who approached the fort. Lying beyond this chamber is the arcanesium. In our time, it housed the magics that protected this fort. I do not know what you shall find there now.

My kin and I shall defend the place of our burial in death, but I ask that you do whatever is in your power to protect the sanctity of this chamber.

I have a boon to gift to you, and a request."

He says a prayer in Celestial. You feel rejuvenated, as though you just awoke from a long slumber. "My sword, Moonshimmer, does not rest with me. If you ever find it, I humbly ask you to return it to me."

All class features have been recharged.

(Whew, I thought you forgot about me! But it's ok, I just hope I can avoid a threatening note about other players waiting in the wings for this game next time I take a bit to respond. And by class features recharged, that means I get back all my uses of lay on hands and smite evil for the day?)

"I shall do my best to prevent this place from falling into evil hands once more. Thank you for the the gift, I shall honor your request. How will I recognize Moonshimmer if I see it? Was it taken from you at your death? How did you die and how did this fortress fall?"

[Maquise]

(Confirmed, you got your loHs and smites back.)

"I died in a war against a powerful goblin tribe in the nearby lands, and did not live to see who was victorious in the war, nor did I see how the fort fell. All that passed after the end of my flesh is concealed from me in the mists of time. As for my sword, it appeared as such: a blade thin and curved, with its name etched into the blade in Celestial. The hilt was wrapped in silver thread, and bore a sapphire pommel stone."

"I will keep an eye out for it, good sir."

Sándor looks into the chamber that recently opened, exploring it for anything interesting or useful.

[Maquise]

The tunnel is crumbling, and thick strands of spider silk line the walls. It opens up to another, partially caved-in room. Shattered stone and glass work cover the floor. A strange, luminescent liquid seeped out of the floor and has congealed into a thick deposit.

You hear struggling in one of the dark corners. You direct your light up; a woman hangs beneath a hole in the ceiling, caught in a spider's web. "Hello there," she says cordially, "Would you kindly give me a hand?"

"If we weren't here, you would be in a very bad situation right now," Mirabelle in a serious tone.

"I've gotten my way out of worse situations," she says confidently. She then gives out a squeak. "No I haven't. Look out!"

The five of you spin around. A 20-foot diameter spider crawls out of the shadow it was hiding in; without the warning, it would have caught you by surprise.

For a moment Sándor thought he'd be able to get some sleep... alas, there always seemed to be more things to kill and more people to save. It was the way of this world, and a life he knew far too well. After a week of fighting a fiendish dragon, a few devils, a dozen orcs and goblins, a fearsome orc warlord and a dead elf general the giant spider hardly phased him.

"Don't worry miss, we will handle this beast. How did you get here?"

Sándor draws his sword and strikes the creature.

"Maybe we could talk later?"

Tomas strikes the spider while it is moving into position, drawing first blood. Marcellus tries to help the woman out of the web. Mirabelle strikes it with her sword, further wounding it. Garm brings his hammer up in a powerful blow, which crushes its hard shell, spilling its putrid innards over the floor. The spide crumples up, its legs folding beneath it.

Marcellus helps the woman down from the web. She lands on her feet gracefully. You hold your light up, taking a closer look at her. About half a foot shorter than you, she has blond hair and exceptionally bright green eyes. Her face is quite soft and her complexion fair, and you notice her ears are tipped with angular points, though not as pronounced as on a full-blooded elf. Her attire, including a shirt of silvery mail, is very practical while still being cut to accentuate her shapely form.

She gives you a charming smile as she looks at you. "Firstly, I would like to thank you for helping me out of that particularly entangling position. My name's Lyanna Rilynnaer, self-serving archeologist and seeker of lore throughout Validor and beyond." Her accent has a slight trill to it.
