Kanto: The Thief

Now *actively on fire* he decides that the time to run was over. Might as well try to do his best to hide.

Seeing a break in the wheat a distance away, he runs toward it at full speed, jumping in (while praying to god it was an irrigation trench). Hopefully it had enough water that the growlithe wouldnt jump in after him...well, anything further he'd have to play by ear. Hopefully he could try to find a hiding spot *somewhere* soon.

You hop into the water, dousing the painful flames. The Growlithe continues to close, glaring at you. It can't attack, but it is close enough to pursue. You can hear it sniffing, as if it is focusing on finding your scent.

The shouts are getting louder; you probably only have about a minute until the farmer and his sons arrive.

Garrick is getting close to hitting panick levels. He feels his adrenaline start to kick in, as he breaks from the trench, his speed slowing down for just a moment before speeding back up. He felt that he could *almost* outrun it now, and as long as he kept going he'd outrun the farmers.

At the very least the Growlithe seemed like it would rather catch than kill me. So if he could build enough speed.

Use agility, then move west parrallel to the trench 8 squares. (one diagonal, so I end up in row 2

Garrick is getting close to hitting panick levels. He feels his adrenaline start to kick in, as he breaks from the trench, his speed slowing down for just a moment before speeding back up. He felt that he could *almost* outrun it now, and as long as he kept going he'd outrun the farmers.

You manage to run, the Growlithe still keeping pace. It darts across the trench, trying to cut you off.

You can see the road and the end of the field about 20 yards away.

The Growlithe manages to gain on you this time, running alongside you and leaping at your arm, fangs bared for a bite. You manage to twist in such a way as to dodge the attack, continuing to run.

The flames are truly becoming monstrous behind you.

[Anonyman]

Twisting away, barely dodging the teeth of the Growlithe, he jumps forward and finally clears the field. He hits the road at an extreme pace, not wanting to slow down enough to get lit up by the fire of the Pokemon.

Move 20 squares out of the field and down the road to Viridian City (Though still prioritizing putting 20 squares between me and the angry dog.) Thank God for Agility.

You make it to the road once again. It's easier to run through this, and the Growlithe soon starts to fall behind. It seems your training is paying off.

He keeps on going, feeling the adrenaline rush course through him. A small part of him wanted to taunt the creature, but common sense told him that was a terrible idea. He keeps going without stopping. He wouldnt put on a final speed boost until that Growlithe was out of sight.

The wall doesn't seem to have become any more challenging. Unfortunately for you, in your rush you missed the guard looking out over the flames.

"Hey! What are you doing!" he shouts, leveling a crossbow in your direction. "

Garrick puts his hands in the air.

"Sorry boss, I left me keys in my other pants!"

You manage to agilely dodge off the wall, a crossbow bolt whizzing through the air, brushing past your clothing.

You easily land on the ground, barely making a sound as you do so.

"Somebody climbed the wall!" the guard shouts, surprisingly loud. "Stop him!"

Using the cover of night, he attempts to slip through the alleys and dark places in the run down area nearby the Gym.

With so many places to skulk about and in the dead of night, this should be far easier than Pallet.

You manage to slip away into the shadows. You can hear guards all around the area, flashlight beams shining. Fortunately, you found a hiding place on top of a small air vent, so you should be safe for now.

He waits. And he waits.
Until he can't sense, hear, or see any more guards looking for him, he stays there. He feels himself start to doze off, but he wouldn't be able to sleep there. He stumbles off to the nearby bars to look for a back alley. If he looks like a drunk he'll at least be able to rest until morning when he can stumble into the center to clean himself up before going to get his payment. And for that matter, his Pokemon!

Just hopping out the window and heading to the gym may be the best option if this is the farmer looking for me. might be trickier if its the guards.

You get out the window quite easily, managing to land cat-like on the ground. You start to make your way to the Gym. You easily avoid a guard patrol and continue to make it on your way. Eventually you are at the Gym.

"What the hell man? It's like three in the morning!"

Garrick is rather unamused.
"It's six in the morning. I have business with the Gym leader. If no one else is awake I can wait somewhere inside.
My name is Garrick Romano. I should be expected."
He looks around.

"It would be a bad idea for me to remain out here."

[Arcran]

"The Leader? Well aren't you fancy. Here, I'll bring you in. He's not going to like being woken up this early though," he says, helping you inside.

He leads you to the back where a large door is open.

"Yo, boss. Got a kid here. Says he needs you."

You hear some mumbling from inside.

"Go on in," the man says, walking away.

Garrick walks in and gives a quick bow.
"Forgive me for coming so early. Was going to clean myself up first but I didn't want to get noticed. The job has been done.
I can come back later, but I'll have to hang around here. Don't want anything traced back to me. Wanna keep it a clean job."
