Zila chuckles as she stands. "Everything that ever existed or could exist in every world… and from the stories I've heard, it all meets here. The basement of the Inside Central Library apparently contains echoes of every library in it.

It's a long shot, but I'll be heading to the library anyway. If you want to come along…"

Hey, longshot is my middle name" Lovejoy says as he shuffles out of the booth "Well it was my nickname in highschool. And not for the reasons you just mentioned. Those kids were mean."

Zila tilts her head as she starts walking outside...

"What's High School?"

"It's like normal school but it's... high." Lovejoy motions with his hands as he continues talking "A lot of stairs, towers, tall faculty, students averaging 6-7 feet."

"...if they're that tall, they'd be at the age when they should be learning their trade from their parents. Different cultures, I suppose."

Atorre turns to regard the sign with some interest. Alas, he has no treasure to award questants.

"Years. I didn't count them. It amkes me sad if I think back." Then she shrugs. " Right, performing doesn't sound good. Maybe I should start some internships to see what kind of job I can go for. I don't want to end as a cashier"

"Actually, if you're into engineering or astronomy or gardening at all, we could have an opening. I could probably draw up an application form. It would make us decide on a provisional name, if nothing else."

"And meaning no offense, the Temple of Inari might have a place for you. I doubt they pay well, and we don't speak for them, but it's worth looking in to."

... I never said not being involved was a bad thing. Quiet. Safe. He looks away.

"Oh, you don't need a provisional name. I meant for us. We're looking to get more people; we have so much to do, but we haven't decided on a name for the business."

He rises up a bit on the seat, to explain.

"Inari is a goddess, patron of rice, foxes, and kitsune. Not as involved in the Nexus as many of the small powers or conflict-related deities, but always present, always promoting life."

Toby struggles with his feelings for awhile before sighing. I don't know why I ever thought I would be a good father.

At least Tobias isn't blind to the problem.
"What you thought doesn't matter. All you have to do is go to them. Spend time with them. Be with them. Anything. Just be a consistent presence in their lives. Even if it does mean risking yourself being close to them."

The Druid waits a bit, expecting Rein to say something else. When he doesn't, Toby speaks quietly. When I was thirteen, I... ran away from home. Most of what I know I taught myself or learned from living life. In the thirty some years since, I've had friends and enemies, lovers and comrades. But I've always felt alone. Not in a bad way, just in the sense that I was and would always be the only constant in my life. That no matter how attached I grew to places and people, I would always be somewhere else with someone else in a few years. The idea of being a consistent presence in someone else's life, of having a family... Well, it's a new concept to me.

Reinholdt mulls it over for a bit. "But you agreed to marry Quinn. Why?"

Oh, well, you know... I needed someone who could raise me from the dead and help keep me alive. Toby jokes.

"And?" Reinholdt replies, apparently humorless today.

And I love her. He rolls his eyes and finishes his drink. What are you getting at?

"But what made you marry her? You've claimed to have loved before, so something must have been different to make you want to stay with her. What is it? What makes her special?" Maybe if Tobias can concentrate on what's special about them, it'd make things easier.

That is personal and I am not going to discuss it. The Druid looks around. I think we should look somewhere else for adventure.

Reinholdt sips his coffee. "We're not going on an adventure Tobias, until you can answer my three riddles. I'm sure someone of your intellect and your degrees will have no trouble figuring them out."

What do you mean, "figure them out"? You think I'm so impulsive I would marry a woman and start a family before thinking about why I love her? Do you think I am so stupid that I would never be able to understand my own feelings without someone using the Socratic method to guide me into a particularly heavy-handed bit of soul searching? Toby Scowls. I do not wish to discuss the specific reasons why I love Quinn simply because you do not need to know them.

"Not quite the riddles I meant." Reinholdt admits. Poorly worded. Oh well.

"They're a bit more basic than that really. How was Quinn's week last week at work? Who's Jamie's best friend? What's Hadrian's favorite animal?" Those riddles.

Toby blinks. Oh. I thought... Well. Quinn only had a few interesting cases in the Infirmary this week, so I want to say "mostly boring". But if you're talking about the non-medical work she does for the Councils of GLoG and Inside, she doesn't tell me about them. Jamie is good friends with Abigail, Brinika, and Natalie, but I don't know which one she is closest to. And Hadrian Vulpan's favorite animal is the fox, obviously.

"If you know all that, then I don't know why you don't think you can be a good father. Just... go home and spend time with them. I'm not in the adventuring mood anymore anyways." Rein says, dourly sipping his coffee.

Also Rein suspects Hadrian's favorite animal is something different entirely. Just because.

Toby stands and walks out.

Reinholdt sighs and buries his head down in the crook of one of his arms. Could be mistaken for passed out drunk, but he's just resting now.

Rick Brutal strides in through the door, wincing a bit as he wiggles the fingers on his left gloved hand. No matter how much aloe vera Rick dunked his hand in, the burn from that lightning bolt wouldn't stop stinging! Still, he walks into the tavern and looks about at the crowd. He walks into Trog's , in his classic bright yellow Coat of Useless Items. He strokes his awesome stache as he moves up to the desk, looking over at Naku. The foppish forty year old rogue is... Odd. He has a large gold front tooth which gleams out among perfect pearly teeth. He wears white satin gloves, and his shirt and pants are a blue silk. Unfortunately for all, his silk shirt goes down way too far, revealing a flabby, hairy chest. He smells like dapper perfume, as if he bathed in it for some reason.

His belt is yellow as well, with a golden buckle. A fancy purple "R" is carved into the buckle, he's obviously quite vain. His pants lead to purple boots with glittery ends. Wait... Glittery ends?! Yes... The point of his shoes are purple, glittery, and magical. At his belt, hidden in his coat is that nasty looking short sword. His main weapon, is a golden rapier with a beautiful crafted sterling silver handle, tied in full view at his waist.

He will slam himself at a table by Reinholdt, attempting to be as loud as possible! He speaks out to all, and takes out four D6's. His are bright yellow and glitter. Well, 'ello there all! Care for a game of Liar's Dice?

Reinholdt rubs his head. He hasn't even been drinking and he already feels a headache coming on.

"Do I have an honest choice? What if I don't know how to play?"
