Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 4: Friends in Need
Could be where the Annan Waters meet the ocean? Then again, the picture has a palm tree so it's not likely to be in Britain...

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 4: Friends in Need
Looks like a torn postcard to me, suggesting somebody ripping one up because they are upset with the person who sent it - not anything literally to do with the sea.

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 4: Friends in Need
Well, school-excursions like that would have been nice
I'm still wondering, how the court finances itself...Last edited by hajo; 2014-07-23 at 06:01 AM.

Off topic, I wonder if Doctor Disaster created Jones.

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 4: Friends in Need
So, is this the first time we've seen Annie leave the Court/Forest? Assuming that the cruise ship is real, and not a hologram simulation?

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 4: Friends in Need
That is very unlikely.
I don't think he was around, at/before that time when Jones arrived on Earth-HaJo

Could work, by the theory that Jones was created retroactively by some scientist fantasizing over the idea of someone who had just seen it all.

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 4: Friends in Need
Yes, Qwertystop is correct, that is the theoretical assumption under which I asked the question. If Coyote's Secret is true (and since it is EXTREMELY LIKELY that the robots' worship of Kat will make the TicTocs exist in the past, I'm pretty sure it is) then someone must have created Jones. I mean, her presence doesn't make any sense otherwise.

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 4: Friends in Need
Definitely Jack.
Probably not Zimmy, in my opinion.
I don't think you could separate her and Gamma with a big crowbar.i am going to make it through this year
if it kills me
i am going to make it though this year
if it kills me

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 4: Friends in Need
The Gamma point is a good one. I'm kinda freaking out. Her eyes aren't red, either! They should be red. Unless... they SHOULDN'T BE! o.O
Edit: In addition, they go to school in England, right? I like that they're worried they might be on the wrong ocean. The Court is just that kind of place.

It's like Zimmy's non-weird, non-evil twin.
Actually is it just me or do they both look too old? It hasn't been that long a period of time since we saw them last?Currently playing the Maya in Civilisation V Multiplayer 3: Swimsuit edition.

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 4: Friends in Need
Well, somebody who's not Zimmy but enough like her that she stands as an acceptable substitute girlfriend to Jack, who sadly probably doesn't like her for herself but because she reminds him of the person that he does like but who is unavailable. At a guess.
Partly the drawing style has developed over time, but also they're all at that age where things change quickly. The Lazy GM series. Lovingly crafted pre-gen monsters for Pathfinder and OGL d20 fantasy.

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 4: Friends in Need
If that is Zimmy, then Jack can "do that magic stuff" and works at least as well as Annie at preventing demons.
It's probably not Zimmy though.

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 4: Friends in Need
Zimmy normally has red eyes when she's "clean". So yeah, I'm guessing not her.
Isn't it still the same school year since we've seen Jack? They're supposed to change dorms every year, and they're still in with the crab RA. The last time we saw Jack was when they had that midnight sneak-out. If that was the beginning of the school year and this is the end of it, we're still short of a single year. He looks like he's gained 2 or 3 years in that time.

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 4: Friends in Need
Yeah, this is my guess too. Logically, Zimmy can't be the only person with this particular affliction.
That's a thing that happens. My father gained a foot in height and roughly 40 pounds of muscle mass over the course of three months when he was that age.Witty sig here nosey, aren't ya?

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 4: Friends in Need
Mine, too.
Let's attack this rationally. Zimmy has red irises, shark teeth, bad hygiene, and Gamma all but grafted to her. Also, a lot of rage. Puberty and Jack MIGHT change some of those, but as long as her brain is still being flooded with Etheric energy I don't see how the irises could change. And we don't see her teeth, so that doesn't figure into this. We haven't seen all the students in the Court, and it's hardly impossible Jack could find a girl with Zimmy's skin tone. On the flip side, Mr. Siddell's label says "These guys??", implying we know BOTH of them. There is only one possible explanation for this.
This is a holodeck sim and Dr. Danger is messing with us.

I keep forgetting that they're bloody teenagers now, not tweens.
