You awake at the sound of the door to your dormitory room opening, the hinges creaking in the cold air. In the doorway stands a figure a little over four feet tall and just as wide. You rub your eyes clearing them and realize that it is Senbi. He turns his head to the side studying you with his only remaining eye and says "Gather you things Kuzon, we've been given a mission from the order."

I stifle a yawn as I get of my bed and put on my leather armor and grab my Elven Curved Blade. I look at the tip of the blade to check if it needs sharpening. It appears that it does not. I put it in its sheath. I look at Senbi and ask “what mission are we to undertake this day, my friend?”

Senbi lets out a small smile as you check over your blade "seems you were an astute learned, that is the same way Iroh looked over his blade before any journey. We have orders to provide escort for a diplomat, Tahiyo Chen, to Kounuma. Recently there has been no trading carts or messengers to return after venturing to the region. It lies to the north about 4 days travel from here. We are to each take a horse from the stable and meet Tahiyo at the Doragon's Tavern.

We will also be having a buddist monk join us, he is traveling the same way we are. Haven't been give any other information though. So grab some breakfast and I'll meet you at the stables".

I clutch the end of my Hilt tightly on hearing Iroh’s name. My eyes look down at the floor; I say “I guess I do base much of my actions around what he did. It has been several years since his death and yet I find that the memory of that incident still pains me, like a sword going through my heart.”
I shake my head to clear my mind of those thoughts and then I say “I wonder if bandits are responsible for the disappearance of the charts, if they are I can’t say I would be surprised, they need to get supplies somehow.” I continue, “I am surprised that messengers are disappearing, I thought that bandits would be more interested in gaining wealth than killing people.”
I shake my head again and say “ I am probably getting ahead of myself here, I mean there is no prove yet that bandits are even responsible for the disappearances of the trade charts and the messengers.” I tell Senbi, and tell him “I should not be long and then we can begin this mission.” I leave my room though the door and walk towards the mess hall.

While traveling to Kounuma you ran into a band of soldiers of the Hogo-sha no Tochi Order who allowed you to travel with them. While traveling they informed you that there has been no word from Kounuma for months and that they were going to send an investigation. Upon reaching Kyugoshima, they suggested that you head to the Doragon Tavern and wait there for members of the order who will travel with you.

If you wish to find out more information make a gather info check or knowledge local depending on what you are trying to find out.

,I nod my head and say “sounds like a plan" As I walk towards the mess hall my thoughts drift back the conversation about Iroh. “Iroh, it seems like only yesterday that you are here with me.” I smile as a think “I remember that day we met, of course I knew about you, how could I not?”
I continue “it still amazes that you and I were chosen to be partners.” “You were always there for me, even when I thought I was all alone”, my mouth forms a small frown as I think, “why, oh why couldn't I have prevented your death?” I sigh, shake my head, and then continue down the hall towards the mess hall.

As you near the mess hall the smell of natto (fermented soy beans), and Tamagoyaki (rolled amulets) his you nose, and you also smell your favorite. Cinnamon rolls topped with a sugary icing. At first you are supprised to see the mess hall so empty, but then you remember that it is only 5 a.m. Letting out a yawn you get your meal, eat it, return the tray and then head off to the stables.

Senbi greets you, This is "Yama Kiri" he says gesturing to a brilliant grey mare in one hand and this he says nodding toward the brown colt in the other, is Aka . Both horses are equipped with a saddle and have bags on each of their sides. They have enough food to support 5 people for 7 days as well as themselves as long as we let them graze. If you don't have any questions we will head over to the Doragun Tavern, and without waiting for an answer Senbi hands you the reigns to the brown horse, jumps up on his and rides off.

Knowledge local check to see if I know how to get to the tavern (1d20+2)[5] if that fails I will ask the gentlemen with my to direct me to the tavern. gather info check (1d20+0)[9] who exactly should I be looking for? and is there any other way we could meet somewhere other than a tavern. I am not keen on drinking establishments because all alcohol does is get in the way of peoples life goals and ambitions

As you walk thorugh the city, you notice it is busseling with bazars, the goods of which are as different and exotic as their owners, which is likely helps you from standing out too much. Passing through the fountain plaza, you feel an excited energy in the very air itself. Not to be distracted by the material things you bow you head keeping your eyes down. You reach you destination, knowing it is for sure the Doragun Taven, before even reading the sign, for over the door is a sculpture of a dragon's head it's eyes seem to stare intimidatingly at you. You are about to enter when you notice a man and dwarf tying their horses to a stay post in a small pasture to the left of you.

You follow Senbi who skillfully navigates his white horse through the crowd at a more than decent pace. As you near the tavern you notice its familiar dragon sculpture over the doorway, they say the eyes of that sculpture watch the patrons as the enter and judge who good of a patron they are.

You dismount your horse in the small green pasture next to the tavern and tie it to a post, as you and Senbi round the corner you notice a blue skinned human wearing very simple garments standing at the door, he turns and looks at you.

aside note: You know the Doragun Tavern to be a well-to-do tavern that usually caters to the high middle and noble classes. You also know it has some extra security features, as you once had a mission here playing the role of body guard from an ambassador and cousin to the king of your neighboring nation.

Hello gentlemen by any chance are you soldiers of the Hogo-sha no Tochi Order. I was traveling with some of your comrades and was told to meet people here at this tavern that are going to Kounuma.

“Greetings, yes we are part of Hogo-sha no Tochi Order.” “My name is Kuzon, I would introduce you to my comrade but I am not sure if he wants to do it himself.”

Name's Senbi. You are more than welcome to travel with us; however, we have no horse for you to ride. As soon as we meet up with the individual we need to escort we will depart. Senbi says all of this without break his stride and enters through the door into the Doragon Tavern.

I stare at the tavern door where Senbi entered, than I say “well they say you should never get between a dwarf and alcohol, and knowing Senbi, I would say that goes double for him.” “We probably should follow him; but before we do, I don’t think you told me your name, could you please tell me it, cause I really don’t want to have to refer to you as that guy, or hey you”.

my name is Yoriyoshi. Glad to meet you. I am guessing you would like to go an join your friend so I wont keep you i just have a question because I do not go into taverns. When for religious reasons will you be leaving and were should I meet up with the two of you and when are you and Senbi planning on leaving for Kounuma.

"good to met you Yoriyoshi. I am not sure when we will be leaving for Kounuma. The information that I got on this mission was limited to that Senbi and I were going to met a monk and be guarding diplomat, Tahiyo Chen to Kounuma. I will check in with Senbi and Chen and then get back to you. Where will you be so that i can contact you when I have the information"?

I can wait right here if you want to go in an ask now or if you want to meet me later I am going to the nearest temple and trying to find lodgings there for the night. I also need to make some preparations for our journey. Also you can let Senbi know that I have been traveling for a while and will not be dead weight on our company. when we do travel.

as I wait or a reply If there is a person that passes within ear shot so i don't have to move or loose total focus on Kuzon I am going to ask them were the nearest temple is.

You can tell the monk wants to get to the temple in the city. Luckily for him you know right where it is. (Just make up some kind of directions)

“Understood, I have been in this city before; the nearest temple is located directly up the street from here, only a few buildings away”. I point up the street to let Yoriyoshi know what direction I am talking about, “If you, for whatever reason cannot find it, wait for me and I will lead you to it. When I get the information about our departure from this city I will tell you about it”. “I hope that I will not be long in the tavern, and I won’t be, unless of course Senbi is acting up, again.”I chuckle as I say that

upon entering the temple I bow at the entrance door way and proceed to wash my hands, left then right, my mouth. then I wash the ladle with the rest of the water in then I go in the shrine after removing my shoes and mediate for an hour then I and look around the temple for a priest or priestess perception: (1d20+6)[23]

After you finish your prayer, you notice that an old man is standing behind you. He is clad in very simple robes, unlike most of the Shinto priests in the temple. As you turn towards him he bows low and speaks, his voice a smoky whisper upon the wind. "You are not of the Shinto religion, yet you find refuge here. You are either wise in knowing that times are changing and Sidharthism is beginning to merge even with the kami themselves. Or you are very foolish and do not understand the teachings of either. Tell me old one, why are you here?"

You enter the tavern and unlike in most other structures in the city, your eyes need not time to adjust. The large room is light from chandeliers that hang from oaken rafters, and candles are spaced between eloquent paintings that adorn the walls. The tables are not covered, but left to reveal their intricate carvings. Human and elven barmaids wait on the tables who are occupied by the wealthy of the city, who sit clad in ornate robes woven of silk and dyed a multitude of colors. The smell of boiled mutton, poached eggs, and chestnut bread reach your nostrils , but your stomach lets out a small protest of nausea indicating its fullness.
