Sighing audibly Fillangus turns to Josie. "Yes, but I'd hope that when I pay for them that they at least stop when I say stop, and attack when I say attack, I mean I'm almost tempted to take the wild girl. At least she could probably be domesticated like Child and Dog..." (the two mules)

Santiago looks to both of the fallen bandits and smiles, looking to Simon "Thats a good days work right there, you handled yourself well."

He walks over to where Simon is dragging, binding, striping the newcomers, ensuring his healing aura is keeping them alive and healed. "Don't want them to die on us, that causes all kind of havoc when trying to trade, I imagine."

Having finished tying up the two prisoners, Simon responds, somewhat grumpily, to Fillangus.
"If someone is trying to kill me, I will return the favor."

@Santiago.
"Thank you. I have this feeling that it was mostly luck, though. Shall we wake them up, see if we can learn if there are more in the village? And what happened to the villagers?"

Towing his hands up in the air Mr. Doddlehop walks over to the prisoners to help sit them up right. Uncertain as to what to do he asks"Should someone hold them too in case they escape?"

"That is why they are disarmed, on the ground, and tied up. If they could escape from there, they would not have gone down so easily. Now, do the bandits have anything to say for themselves?"

Simon stands nearby, his weapon at the ready.

About to reply to Simon, Santiago holds his tongue

"Well" he says, shrugging his shoulders "We could just beat them down again if try to run...."

cassie just looks down disappointed and says nothing.

Douglass eyes Simon up and down.

"Yes Mr. Bandit, what do you have to say for yourself now that you've captured this poor little girl and myself?" Douglass says frostily...

Simon speaks, calmly, ignoring the insult.
"How many more of you bandits have taken the town?"

"Let's see...right before someone started screaming about bandits, there were some children playing, and I was enjoying a wonderful conversation some odd storyteller. So..."

Douglass does some counting on his fingers...

"...counting the children..."

More counting on the fingers...

"...I'd say approximately zero..." he finishes with a flat stare...

Santiago bursts into the conversation, realizing what had happened.

"Wait, you mean to tell me you are not bandits?" he asks Douglass, he then stares at the young girl "Then tell me why you fired on me?" he asks her

Douglass glances at Santiago, then nonchalantly says to the girl...

"He must be the brains of this group..."

"Now, that's interesting. From our perspective, here we are, coming along the road, when this little bandit attacks us, at which point you, coming out of the tavern, try to assist. What precisely did you expect us to think? Besides, there were no children. I must support my colleague's question: What were you doing if you are not bandits?"

Santiago bursts into the conversation, realizing what had happened.

"Wait, you mean to tell me you are not bandits?" he asks Douglass, he then stares at the young girl "Then tell me why you fired on me?" he asks her

Santiago crouches down and wipes his face with his hand, as if the action would drain all the craziness from the situation and relieve him from it.

"Ah...I see, well then, we are not bandits, we are guarding this here sers wagon and trading goods" he points to Mr. Doddlehop "we mean no harm to anyone, except those who attack us....which is why what happened, happened." he says, looking the girl in the eye as if he would a child. "Do you understand?"

"Well, I have a deathwish, and I enjoy being beaten within an inch of my life because of a misunderstanding...so that's what I was doing... says Douglass, responding to Simon, words dripping with sarcasm.

[Princess Tari]

she looks at the ground saying no more.

Josie chuckled softly at that last part. "I do believe I called that. Perhaps I can speed this along. The tree-girl is insane and the man is protective and naive. Once you know that the rest falls into place doesn't it?"

[BelGareth]

Santiago looks up to Simon from his position.

"I think we could let her go" he looks to Douglass and kicks him "But this one should probably be tied to the wagon, a few miles might do him good"

Listening to the man, Simon once more ignores him, figuring that he was just putting on a show for the girl.

"Santiago, since you were the one injured, it seems reasonable that you decide their fate, unless Fillangus has a different opinion. Now, girl, I believe, you mentioned something about a bargain?"

[casualcryptic]

Josie arches an eyebrow as he glances at Santiago. "If anything it would be the opposite actually." Then her turns to the otherman. "Our employer has already stated his opinion multiple times now," he adds with a grin.

"You CALLED that!?! YOU CALLED THAT!?!" Douglass starts mumbling (things that should probably not be posted on GitP )


He then looks at Santiago.

"Yes, THAT MAKES PERFECT SENSE...because guards of merchants take people that they know are not bandits and drag them behind a wagon..."

Douglass looks at the merchant.

"Some fine sell-swords you have here...I hope you are never on the receiving end of their 'good graces'"

Seeing her nod, Simon raises another question, ignoring the other man's ranting. Hopefully, the town guard would take care of him.
"Will you keep it?"

Simon nods.
"Interesting. That leaves the question as a basic one: Can you be trusted?"

Shrugging "I pay them. beyond that I can only hope. Dangerous occupations and what have you. If I can't complete this trade circuit I'm gonna be too broke to call myself a merchant..."

Douglass mutters to himself...something about knights and bushes...
