Also of note:
- Winning Entry of Gestalt Build Challenge IV
- 3rd Place in Iron Chef XI (Blade Bravo)
- Judge of Iron Chef XXIII (Divine Champion)
I have a number of ongoing projects that I manically jump between to spend my free time ... so don't be surprised when I post a lot about something for a few days, then burn out and abandon it.

Tarquin was really hanging in there for a while, but looks like V cracked the can open.

Re: Favourite Character Tournament III: The Last of Them
Thanks for the count- up. That's...very close. Tarrquin started off really strongly, but V has pulled ahead with the last few votes. Not at all surprised about the results in the Loser's Cup, but Haley's weak showing in the final is not something I'd have predicted.
BTW oppyu; any decision yet on what to do in the event of a tie?The prison was full of British officers who had sworn to die, rather than be captured.

Re: Favourite Character Tournament III: The Last of Them
Favorite Character Tournament:
1. Vaarsuvius - As a verbose and deadpan powerful wizard V is cool enough, but what ultimately puts her over the top is the whole soul-selling thing. I enjoy the darker side to her character.
2. Haley - A well rounded and likeable character, but she lacks some of the edge that V has.
3. Tarquin - Tarquin's genre savvy shtick is entertaining, but that's about it. He's a bit overrated, honestly.
Loser's Cup:
1. Kobold Oracle - This guy is great basically every time he appears. The way the Oracle abuses his psychic abilities is always amusing, plus he makes for interesting foreshadowing.
2. Gannji - The lizard has plenty of great moments and an interesting dynamic with Enor.
3. Leeky Windstaff - I like Leeky, but he's not one of my favorites.

Re: Favourite Character Tournament III: The Last of Them
Not gonna spam you guys with vote updates every time someone votes, but I feel it's worth mentioning that Tarquin is now one vote away from Vaarsuvius. I know both characters have vocal hatedoms as well as fandoms, so if you really don't want a character to win...
EDIT: Ninja'd with a vote, it's now two votes. Point still stands of course.Last edited by oppyu; 2013-07-31 at 07:48 AM.

Re: Favourite Character Tournament III: The Last of Them
While I totally loved Tarquin's reasoning in #763 - honestly, I don't think I've ever been so impressed by any villainous plan, in any story - his genre-savvyness has gotten much more tiresome in the recent comics. So I have to go with Vaarsuvius here. He and Redcloak are definitely the best characters in the story overall.
Also, Gannji for the Loser's Cup.

Re: Favourite Character Tournament III: The Last of Them
Change my earlier Abstain to Tarquin
Not because I suddenly care which of the three wins (I don't) but I'd really like to see a tie. I enjoyed the Roy & Malack tie, then the rematch with 3 choices. This time would be a three choice option devolving into mano y shemano.
(Still bitter over Bitterleaf.)

Re: Favourite Character Tournament III: The Last of Them
The whole "Darth V" arc and the Blackwing stuff really make Vaarsuvius my favorite character. Plus, wizard is my favorite class, so bonus points there.
For the LC, I vote for Ganjii.

Tied up!
oppyu, I think that the run-off and tied winners are both fine ideas, with the important caveat of: Wizard Guy.

Re: Favourite Character Tournament III: The Last of Them
I think oppyu's move of including WG's name in the last thread title was the right one. Proposing that any future incarnation of the tournament be renamed "The Wizard Guy Classic."

And once again this tournament is great at luring out the lurkers in the forum :)
5 july 2013'ers in this voting round. Almost as many as there was april 2013'ers in the Malack v Roy fight!
