    Default Pathfinder Question: Androids (Race)

Ok so browsing the internet I found the race of the Androids from the Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Inner Sea Bestiary

    Now
    Android Characters (16 RP)
Androids are defined by their class levels–they do not have racial Hit Dice. All androids have the following racial traits.
    Standard Racial Traits
Ability Score Racial Traits Androids have swift reflexes and are very intelligent, but have difficulty relating to others. As a result, androids gain a +2 bonus to Dexterity and Intelligence, but suffer a –2 penalty to Charisma.

Languages: Androids begin play speaking Common. Androids with high Intelligence can choose any languages they want (except secret languages, such as Druidic).

    Feat and Skill Racial Traits
Androids gain a +2 racial bonus on Perception checks.

Emotionless (–1 RP): Androids have problems processing emotions properly, and thus take a –4 penalty on Sense Motive checks.

    Senses Racial Traits
Exceptional Senses: Androids have darkvision to a range of 60 feet and low-light vision.

    Other Racial Traits
Constructed (2 RP): For the purposes of effects targeting creatures by type (such as a ranger's favored enemy and bane weapons), androids count as both humanoids and constructs. Androids gain a +4 racial bonus on all saving throws against mind-affecting effects, paralysis, poison, and stun effects, are not subject to fatigue or exhaustion, and are immune to disease and sleep effects. Androids can never gain morale bonuses, and are immune to fear effects and all emotion-based effects.

Emotionless (–1 RP): Androids have problems processing emotions properly, and thus take a –4 penalty on Sense Motive checks.

Nanite Surge (3 RP): An android's body is infused with nanites. Once per day as an immediate action, an android can cause her nanites to surge, granting a bonus equal to 3 + the android's character level on any one d20 roll; this ability must be activated before the roll is made. When an android uses this power, her circuitry-tattoos glow with light equivalent to that of a torch in illumination for 1 round.
Is there build stats (Although game designers say this is a mistake somehow...)

Now it says Emotionless as a -1 RP weakness.

Now if we have seen Data from Star Trek we know he is not suppose to have emotions.. but he does seem to have something.

Would using Data's emotional template allow an Android to play as a Bard or Barbarian or some other class that uses emotions or morale bonuses?

What racial replacements should they get, as a rough idea?

Without delving into the create-a-race rules in-depth, I'd say the obvious tradeoff to opening yourself up to morale bonuses is that you're susceptible to other emotions as well - thus you would lose your immunity to fear and emotion-based effects. So the two to trade out would be Constructed and Emotionless, and you would simply replace it with something very similar to Constructed but lacking the immunities part.

It would probably read something like this:

Personality Matrix (Ex) (1 RP): Some androids are configured to simulate organic behavior even more accurately; however, this feature opens their minds to all emotion - positive and negative alike. For the purposes of effects targeting creatures by type (such as a ranger's favored enemy and bane weapons), androids with this racial trait count as both humanoids and constructs. Androids gain a +4 racial bonus on all saving throws against paralysis, poison, and stun effects, are not subject to fatigue or exhaustion, and are immune to disease and sleep effects. Unlike regular androids, Androids with this racial trait can gain morale bonuses, and are subject to fear and emotion-based effects normally. This racial trait replaces Constructed and Emotionless.

Ok I found further things by the creators. They said the inspiration and the emotional template of the androids are akin to the Alien Franchises Androids. Like Bishop.

Also.. is it just me or is this Race gonna make insanely good Monks.

Small problems with that man, Androids cant have moral bonuses or emotional effects so that means they cant rage.

I think you missed the point of his post, aka making them be able to benefit from moral bonuses. Also agree with what psyren said, if they can benefit from rage, they can be stricken by fear as well.
