Re: SW Saga Edition Thread 2: The Sith Lords
I'm starting up a sandboxy game at the moment. Is there any information on trade good values in the SW universe?

Re: SW Saga Edition Thread 2: The Sith Lords
Thanks, but I was unclear. I meant that I was looking for a general import-export list, so I can have an idea of what systems buy and sell what.

Re: SW Saga Edition Thread 2: The Sith Lords
Check the "Galactic Gazetteer" sections of the various rulebooks. They generally have a quick writeup for various worlds, including major imports and exports.

Re: SW Saga Edition Thread 2: The Sith Lords
Several books (primarily era guide books, as well as the core book) have a "Galactic Gazetteer" section that tells you just that, among other basic tidbits of planetary information.

I only skimmed those sections, so I'll look there, thanks.

Re: SW Saga Edition Thread 2: The Sith Lords
I think it's mentioned somewhere in the books that you can do that to represent stuff like training droids, and the like.

Re: SW Saga Edition Thread 2: The Sith Lords
Which is kinda weird, because soldier training droid would be better of then a jedi - the only good melee jedi talents require use the force skill.

Re: SW Saga Edition Thread 2: The Sith Lords
I guess you could multiclass a droid into it for like...Lightsaber Proficiency and Lightsaber Defense? Actually, there's some interesting Guardian talents, too...

Re: SW Saga Edition Thread 2: The Sith Lords
Which is kind of weird. A lot of the jedi melee talents just require being faster or more aware than normal, usually via the force.
So couldn't a droid master those same talents without the force?
In any case, you could always make an Iron Knight. :P Living crystal hooked into a robot body as the processer = droid with force powers but no reprograming.Last edited by druid91; 2013-11-05 at 01:39 PM.

Re: SW Saga Edition Thread 2: The Sith Lords
Weirder than that - you can use a bunch of the Consular talents. Adept Negotiator uses Persuasion, not Use The Force, and most of its offshoots are okay. You can also use Sentinel's Gambit to forcibly flat-foot Dark Side folks next to you each turn, setting them up for some brutal sneak attacks if you're a Jedi/Scoundrel.
Wait, no, that's 1/encounter, not 1/turn. Never mind, the Sentinel powers, while you can take them, are kind of terrible. If you like my thoughts, you'll love my writing. Visit me at www.mishahandman.com.

Re: SW Saga Edition Thread 2: The Sith Lords
Which part, the part where there's a species of sentient crystals (two, actually), the part where some of them took to piloting droids, or the part where some of them proceeded to Jedi it up in their droid suits?

There's also a Jedi talent that lets you do +1 dice damage with lightsabers when fighting defensively, and no Force sensitivity is needed.

Re: SW Saga Edition Thread 2: The Sith Lords
Ok, I just had a sudden realization.
I'm currently re-watching A New Hope (plan on re-watching the movies in Machete Order), and it dawned on my why Storm Troopers appear so ineffectual during the Death Star rescue.
Simply put, they're letting them go on purpose. They're intentionally losing the fight.
Vader has a homing beacon installed on the Falcon, right? So he's ordered his men to put up an effective show, while still letting them get away.
Contrast this with how effective they are boarding Leia's ship at the beginning of the movie. They kill most of the rebel troops and route the rest, and we only see two dead Storm Troopers, despite fighting in a narrow hallway with little cover.
I'm a little surprised I never caught onto that.Last edited by VeliciaL; 2013-11-06 at 02:05 AM.

Re: SW Saga Edition Thread 2: The Sith Lords
Redirect Shot:
'When you successfully deflect a blaster bolt, you can make an immediate ranged attack against a target with which you have line of sight.'
I see there is no errata on this talent, and I am curious: What exactly do they mean by ranged attack? That is, are you using your BAB plus Dex? Cha? Something else? Do you get to use feats or talents that boost your ranged attacks?

Re: SW Saga Edition Thread 2: The Sith Lords
A ranged attack (just like with all the other talents/feats that lets you make a ranged attack), except that (I assume) you need to use the range and base damage dice (3d8+1/2 your heroic level for a blaster rifle for instance) of the shot you redirect (bab+dex for ranged attack, much like dark healing)
I would let you use feats and talents that boost ranged attacks (if they are valid to use for any ranged attack/ you fullfill the prerequisites to use it with redirect)

Re: SW Saga Edition Thread 2: The Sith Lords
Ewoks are vicious little savages, and the Empire took too long to realize that a swarm of homicidal teddy bears knocking troopers down, sneak-attacking them from the brush, etc. can be really deadly since they can attack the armors' joints with their sharpened sticks.
