"Well geeze, I hope you can. Ain't doin' me much good walkin' down here if yous useless," Sunder replies gruffly. While she sees the practicality of NO's services she still bristles at the fact that she was effectively forced into getting a license or facing consequences.

Having others tell her what she can and can't do doesn't sit very well with the pegasus pugilist.

"Some kinda shade attacked Trog's. Some folks kicked its ass and the tavern coughed up the money to everyone with a license."

Mostly that was just her.

"So dat's workin' the way it's supposed to I guess?"

There are no authority-looking figures around but Dena is currently finishing a pizza on her desk. "Yeah, you come to the right place. Membership forms are there..." She gestures towards a pile of papers on the desk. "And then you need to prove your worth to NO. Any questions?"

"Not a problem," says Phil as he picks up a form. "Who do I need to talk to and what do I need to do to show my worth?"

"You make me sound like some sort of criminal" Lovejoy huffs, indignant. "But, yes, you are absolutely correct"

"In the opinion of the guards, you might be."
Krayger gestures out of the room.

"Not a problem," says Phil as he picks up a form. "Who do I need to talk to and what do I need to do to show my worth?"

[Inside Office]

The drow grins. "That would be me buddy, I'm one of NO's lieutenants. As for worth tell me what you can do and I'm sure we can work something out."

Lovejoy shrugs and sheepishly slinks out of the room, checking the corners of the corridors as he disappears into them.

"I'm a recently graduated mage who specializes in surprises. I've worked before as a triage medic in a local militia, reserved only to stabilize the worst cases, and also as combat support. Surprise artillery, some of them called me. I'm much better at support than direct combat." Phil spreads his arms in what is almost a shrug. "Need a support mage with a gift for surprises?"

"Surprises eh? Well, why don't you stay around for another..." She glances at the nearby clock. "...thirty minutes when I have my break and you can show me some of your tricks where you won't do any property damage?"

"Not a problem," says Phil. "Do you have any maps of Nexus that I could look at while I wait?"

Dena gives Phil an odd look. "Sure, though keep in mind that maps around here aren't entirely reliable in some aspects. The distance between places seems relative for instance." She warns before suddenly pulling out a map from the cloak hanging on the back of the chair she's sitting on (even though it's far too large to possibly have been able to fit into the cloak) and hands it over.

On it he will be able to see all important locations within the nexus, though the map actually seem to shift before his eyes from time to time, the landscape changing shape constantly.

Phil examines the map as he waits on Dena. He seems satisfied with the map and begins to hum something under his breath.

More than an half hour passes and Dena finally approaches Phil, now dressed in a black jacket, a pair of jeans and a hat. "Sorry, had to change clothes. We're going to outside after all and it's cold out these days. Want to burrow a coat?" She asks with a smile.

[NO Inside Office]

Sunder raises an eyebrow at the fellow speaking with her.

"Uh, yeah. I guess? I'll be goin', then."

She heads over to the job board and does a quick search to see if there's anything that would be interesting for she and the rest of her adventuring party to look into. The pegasus pugilist makes a few mental notes and then heads off.

Where you ask?

Why back to Trog's of course!

She was supposed to be meeting her friends there in a few hours.

"No thanks," says Phil, returning Dena's smile. "I can conjure more clothing if I need it. Let's go. By the way, my name is Phil Ashland. Do you mind telling me what we'll be doing?" Phil notices that she's some kind of elf, as there are elves where he is from, but he doesn't know anything about dark elves in particular. A description would be nice. Phil is wearing yellow and tan robes, is blond with a mullet and has orange irises.

"What we will be doing is up to you Phil. I want you to go nuts out there and show me your whole spectrum of powers. Hence why we aren't doing it in the city." Dena explains as they leave the office and walk towards outside.

Here he is, shield slung in his back, sheathed dagger at his side and spear in hand. Aric walks up to the front desk, or Dipsnig or whoever is there. I received a call about I job I might find interesting.

Aric would have been called there, actually. He'll find Dipsnig sitting in an armchair, as he usually does. He gets straight to business.

"Right. The job is to accompany one of the leaders of Watchtower as she explores some ruins. Do you think you would be up to it?"

That would seem to make sense. Aric nods, Yes sir, that sounds like an excellent task. Are there any more details? Could you tell me more about who I'll be working with?

"It's really straightforward," Dipsnig says. "She'll be exploring some ruins in search of the knowledge their builders left behind. You're to help her and protect her. But you mustn't take anything from there. I'm sure I'll be able to find another member to accompany you easily."

Aric chuckles, he can keep his greedy hands to himself. Simple enough, I'm ready whenever our patron says to depart. He doesn't seem to have any supplies, other than an empty-looking bag, slung over his shoulder.

"I'm sure I'll be able to find another member to accompany you easily."

"Found," Krait reports, as if he were here the whole time, just standing in that corner there. He's even got his voulge brandished and ready and everything.

Dipsnig, to his credit, doesn't even flinch when Krait appears out of nowhere.

"Good to have you on board, Krait," Dipsnig says, fiddling with his holographic bracer. "I sent Mrs. Mithar a message that I have a team ready."

Unless there's a loud noise involved with Krait's sudden appearance, Aric does not jump. However, his head turns rapidly to find the source of the noise. Excellent, everything is in order. Are we going to pay he castle a visit, or will she drop by here?
He offers Krait a hand to shake with a cordial greeting.

Fade returns from the Inside Office. It seems some time has passed, because the bandages are gone. He will start wandering around in the base without any real goal, just walking.

A gloved hand firmly claps Aric's own. The most succinct way of describing Krait would probably be 'faded blue Cobra Commander uniform, on a kobold.' He has the same sort of faceless reflective mask hiding his entire face from sight, his faded clothes definitely look like they've seen a lot of conflict with whatever the kobold equivalent of G.I. Joe is, and his voulge (a polearm with some enchanted jawbones dangling from it on a string) has been stuck through enough torsos it probably should've been replaced years ago. His helmet has some tech tucked inside, but for the most part, he's decidedly primitive and medieval when compared to his animated counterpart.

"Alright," Dipsnig says, looking at his holographic bracer. "Looks like our employer is too busy to come here. She'll receive you in her home in Mithar Keep."

To tell the truth, Aric's own attire doesn't look as grand as it once did...with some telltale scorch makes and hastily-done stitchwork, his tunic could be due for replacement. Still, Aric is a person of sentiment, and this has high value in that regard. His shield has suffered a few knocks, but his spear still looks to be in astonishingly good shape. Huh, go figure.

Nevertheless, hands are clasped, and Aric gives the faceless Kobald a beaming grin. A pleasure, I'm Aric. I believe your name was spoken as Krait? And then more information. Fantastic! We'll be on our way soon. Is there anything you need to prepare, my friend? He asks of the Kobald. Better not to rush new comrades...

"Always prepared, delays unnecessary. Name not Krait. Convenient alias for reasons of safety against magicks and scrying. Already know the route, feel free to follow if transportation has not been arranged."

And with that curt and brusque explanation, Krait turns around and heads for the door.
