"That's mostly just when they get here. When they get here they usually decide to go for whatever they always wanted to do in life but never got the chance to.

Before they come here, though," Civvy very specifically avoids saying the word 'die', "they help keep the country safe, mostly from demonic icky forces, spread hope however they can, feeding and providing shelter for the homeless, building houses for said homeless, helping the weak and infirm with things that need doing, educating those that might not be able to go to a school on their own, follow wars and help rebuild towns and clean the fields so they can be farmed again, so on."

By this point, there are some actual people out on the street. Still people going to early jobs, but definitely more people around. Several look at Reina curiously, and all at least bow at Civvy.

Beans drags this scene out of the depths like one of those weird-ass fish. Unlike one of those weird-ass fish, it doesn't explode when it reaches the surface.

He holds out his hand, palm up, and a sheet of paper floats to the surface. He trails a finger across it, leaving lines of blackness that form a rune. The paper is handed across.

"Give that to the captain. Tell them to press it when they want me. Until then, I will retire to the Darkness."

And he implodes, collapsing in on himself and disappearing with a pop.
