Hopton, feeling that laying down before his enemy would be a bad place to stay, rolls backwards from him, giving his wouldbe allies a chance to defend him. Leoneiros stabs the unconsious Goblin, killing it. Jephath removes the mist, revealing the area around the fight. Chaos still runs rampant around the square. The burning cart is now mimicked by several tents and fences that fell prey to the Goblin's torches. Goblins continue their attack, while you can see the beginning of an organized town militia start to fight back. This is all once again blocked off from one angle as Ark brings forth a wall from the Earth, trapping the Warchanter among the heroes. Seeing his openning and fuming with anger, Steven rages and charges the Warchanter. His scimtar connects and tears the Warchanter to pieces. Seeing his enemy slain, Brenden begins to lower his blade when he is startled by a sound.

Three Goblins witness the ground form a wall and proceed to investigate. Upon entering the Grease, their splashing causes the Grease affected area to burst into flames, starting from the burning cart next to it. The Goblins are immediately caught on fire and begin running.

Through the "wall" a flaming goblin appears and runs for where the Warchanter was, aimlessly screaming and batting at himself. Brenden sees the FGoblin(1) and strikes with his sword, beheading the passing Goblin before he could hurt anyone. FGoblin(2) come screaming at Jephath, surprised to see a flaming goblin, Jephath is caught off guard and unable to deter the charging pyro. They collide, burning Jephath and knocking him back a few feet. FGoblin(3) runs blindly into Steven, who barely notices he was coming. To that degree, he doesn't really notice when the Goblin bounces off of him either. FGoblin(3) spins off of him and into the wall again, revealing the illusion entirely.

As Hopton guards the frontline, Leo continues to finish off the sleeping Goblins one at a time. Jephath moves inot position and attempts to finish off his flaming foe. Jephath bats the Goblin in the head, sending him tumbling back toward Hopton. Ark begins moving up the stairs as Father Zantus emerges from the Cathedral. "The combat seems to be slowing." Steven moves to join them and Father Zantus hears his breathing. "Are you seriously injured? Please gather your wounded, it's the least I could do." Brenden steps to the final Goblin swings at his foe. His attack misses, but as he does, he sees the Goblin fall to the ground. Succumbing to the fire, the Goblin is slain. Pleased with the results he moves to the stairs with everyone.

As the party gathers atop the stairs, Father Zantus begins to heal the party to full health. "We appreciate all the help you have provided. The town guard appears to be driving out the last of them, but your efforts here saved a lot of lives."

Branden sheathes his hastily cleaned scimitar before bowing deeply to all assembled.

It is both my greatest pleasure and my humblest duty to present to you the least of the servants of the Dawnflower, Sarenrae; my given name is Branden Tychus.

He rises from his bow, continuing:

Although my meager strength is bolstered by the Everlight, I consider allies all who would protect the innocent partakers of this great festival. My thanks to ye all.

Turning to Father Zantus, Branden says:

Father, can any more be done to salvage the festivities? Where can our new friends and I be of greatest service?

On the way towards the scream, the town feels quiet. The fighting and the festivities have all began to die down. As the heroes arrive on the road to the North Gate, they see a man hiding behind a barrel. Frantic barking can be heard up ahead of them.

You look up to see a battle going between a dog and a Goblin Commando riding a Goblin dog. You hear the man yelling for Maverick to come back. Then you see the commando come down with his horsechopper and kill the dog. The dog slumps over as you hear a frenzied cheer come up. The commando's kin had been hiding from the dog and were coming out to celebrate their kill.

Steven strides toward the goblins along the north road, drawing his weapon as he does, and comes to rest a short distance from them, beginning to interpose himself between them and the man. He also speaks loudly during this action, "This town is under protection, so you better leave while you still can. I won't even make you pay for the damage to my twice-damned shirt you petty imps. Now leave

As the Goblins converge on the cowardly man, Jephath charges the mounted Goblin in hopes of evening the odds. However, the Goblin Commando was able to manuever his mount to avoid the attack. Leoneiros saw this as an opportunity; he rushed forward and threw his spear will all he had. The Goblin Dog didn't even see it coming. The spear when right into his chest, piercing his heart, and dropping the Goblin Dog. The Goblin Commando was so surprised that he fell to the ground with the Goblin Dog. Ark moved in to make his move and launched an acidic dart at one of the onlooking Goblins, though it sailed high and missed. As the man peered over the barrel, Steven was suddenly blocking his view, towering over the crouched man protectively. Hopton was nowhere to be seen, choosing to bide his time in the shadows at the moment. As Branden rushed in to make is presence know, the spied the closed Goblin. He moved in to attack with is scimitar, but the Goblin was too quick and managed to dodge his attack.
