Re: Trans-Atlantic Rise of the Runelords
"Well, I would like to welcome you to Sandpoint and say with a degree of certainty, that we are glad you were here and would be happy to have you as residents of the area." Sheriff Hemlock says with a smile on his face. "It's been some years since we have had regular adventurers come through the town and it would be nice to know there was such a group we could count on from time to time. By no means do we expect you to settle down here, though you would be welcome, but just being a part of the community could be very benefitial to us all. I know I would sleep better at night knowing..."
Sheriff Hemlock stopped mid statement as he saw the crypt. The door had been ripped off and replaced askewed. The near by tombstones had been knocked over and the area was a mess. "Pleasentries aside, it looks like we have work to do."

"I, uh... I think that's what we're supposed to find out, Jephath." He glances sidelong at Ark after a brief pause. "I didn't count anyone here as a potential fugitive. Is that how we look? This isn't gong to be a thing, is it? Can this not be a thing?"

Huh, you guys have funny ideas of what constitutes work around here. Your idea of work looks a lot like my idea of play. Let's see what we have here!

Re: Trans-Atlantic Rise of the Runelords
Your investigation shows that the crypt was obviously pryed open and then just replaced enough to cover the door. Peering in throught the small openning you see mostly darkness.
Spoiler: LeoneirosYou can see that about a half dozen Goblins were running around this area, to and from the crypt. You also recognize a single see of Medium sized Humanoid footprints.

Branden eyes the open crypt in obvious disapproval. The sanctity of this place has been defiled. I suggest that we investigate, and see the extent of the damage.

The tomb is 20 feet by 20 feet and is for the late Ezakien Tobyn, the head priest of the previous cathedral that was burned down in a fire that took his life.

"Ah, Father Tobyn. He was a good man... His death was a double tragedy, as the old temple burning was one of the worst disasters town has seen. But why would someone disturb his tomb?" Jephath asks. Turning to the sheriff, he says, "I am going inside." Turning to the others he asks, "Who is with me?"
Then, without waiting for their response, he steps towards the door entrance, clearly intending to enter with or without the others.

As Jephath and Branden open the door and slide it out of the way, a quiet creeking can be heard. The suns rays pour into the crypt revealing two humanoid skeletons. They turn there attention to you as the door opens and begin to move.

Re: Trans-Atlantic Rise of the Runelords
Engrossed in the tracks, Leoneiros doesn't immediately notice the animated skeletons. These are goblin tracks made fairly recently. You can see the markings here... and a scrap of cloth over here... 5 or 6 total, I think. And there's something else, a larger set of prints... could be a man...
Suddenly he notices the skeletons emerging. Great, now we'll definitely be late. You got it, Shiny?

Re: Trans-Atlantic Rise of the Runelords
The look on Sheriff Hemlock's face goes from surprise to excitement as he sees the heroes jump to action. Though that excitement died a little as he watched 3 of you dog pile a skeleton to no avail... However, as Branden's weapon came down and connected, there was a gleam of hope, until the blade slide off of the bones of the skeleton just as easily. Unable to reach the skeletons, he can only offer assistance. "I don't believe the sword is doing much, if one of you would like to you my club, I would happy to let you."
The skeletons cold hands claw at Branden. The first skeleton's claw rakes across his face and scratches him (-1hp). This causes him to flinch and makes the other skeleton miss.

Round 2
The large man skids to a stop short of the tightly packed melee, turns on his heel, and takes a spot next to Ark. He glances at the Elf and squats on his heels, "I know better than to try to squeeze into that tight of a spot if lives don't depend on it." He picks up the longbow and inspects it, testing the pull idly and sighting down his arm. "They deserve some fun today anyway. I feel rude if I hog the fighting." He smiles and calls out encouragingly, "Put those abominations to rest!"

Re: Trans-Atlantic Rise of the Runelords
As Steven steps out and Leoneiros steps in, Jephath and Hopton move in for a flank, but the hard bones and thing frames of the skeletons make them hard to hit. Ark moves forward and holds out the Sheriff's club to the melee group. Branden hardens his gaze and swings his blade. He strikes the abomination, removing two of it's ribs. While the creature seems to not mind, you see it's bones shake as it swings at Branden again. The creature claws drag across Branden's skin, tearing him down his side (-4HP). Skeleton 2 swings at Jephath trying to and misses.
