"The Council met?" Reinholdt sounds quite surprised. That's... a first he's ever heard of. It couldn't just be because of him, though, could it? He cloned himself months ago. Had to be some other factor to cause them to meet, something serious, that just had the clones on the docket of something to discuss while there. Still, pretty bad.

"What did you want to know?"

"Well... to start with, why did you really clone yourself? What do you want to accomplish with all those clones?" Reelshka asks.

I make my own fate! She wolfs down the last pancake, then starts to get out of bed. When was the last time you saw those two? The last time they were involved in anything important? And you want that kind of misery for me? I don't bloody well think so!

[Infirmary - Hekta and Elias]

Anchor shakes her head slowly. "You shouldn't have eaten it all in one bite, then."

[Reinholdt]

[Infirmary]

"You'll make your own grave if you don't get some sleep first." Reinholdt insists, going to stop her from getting out of bed. He'll hold her down if he absolutely has to. "You can write history after a little rest."

Woods

"What? You doubt me when I say it was because of Magtok's assassins he keeps sending me way?" Reinholdt asks, pulling his knees in to his chest and holding them there. Funny how attempted murder's no big deal, but stealing from the guy who'd see him dead is.

"... It was Ermine's idea."

He's going to have to forcibly pin her to the bed. Better hope Quinn or the kids don't walk in. No! I hate how you doubt me all the time! I can do the ritual right now!

"What? You doubt me when I say it was because of Magtok's assassins he keeps sending me way?" Reinholdt asks, pulling his knees in to his chest and holding them there. Funny how attempted murder's no big deal, but stealing from the guy who'd see him dead is.

"... It was Ermine's idea."

I can't recall Reinholdt ever mentioning that it was due to Magtok's assassins...

"It was... oh." Reelshka pauses. "So it was her who suggested you clone yourlself to protect yourself from Magtok?"

[Reinholdt]

[Infirmary]

Pin, pin, pin.
"You're exhausted. If you're as concerned about a drow having a rapier in her belt while she's in your room as you were, you should be equally concerned with performing any sort of magical ritual that messes with your body when you're in a medically proven mentally altered state. It's logic, not doubt."

Woods

"More or less, yes." The reasoning Ermine suggested it for was far less noble. "Though it'd have been for both of us. We both would have had clones."

I didn't know anything about her. It would have been foolish to assume that I could have protected myself from her without using magic. Wasting any magic now is simply unacceptable! Tovia struggles. I'm telling you that I can do this!

"And what do you use them for now?" Reelshka asks.

Anchor shakes her head slowly. "You shouldn't have eaten it all in one bite, then."

"But I'm hungry!" The demon protests. "Do you have anything to eat maybe?"

[Reinholdt]

[Woods]

"Well you met the assassin I convinced to join just a few days ago, right? It's pretty much just a protection policy now." Reinholdt says with a shrug.

[Infirmary]

"What do you mean wasting magic? Look, if you were up for this, you'd have already judo thrown me across the room by now. I believe you can do this, just... eight hours sleep, then there'll be all the rituals you want. Ok?" Reinholdt says, struggling back. He's not the strongest around, so even exhausted she might actually be able to get free.

[Morty]

"I see." Reelshka isn't sure if she believes it. "How many of your clones are there?"

[Recaiden]

[Infirmary - Hekta and Elias]

"But I'm hungry!" The demon protests. "Do you have anything to eat maybe?"

"Why don't you go to the kitchen? The infirmary is for healing. The kitchen is for food." Honestly Hekta's being quite silly about this candy thing. Maybe she shouldn't give it to the children after they put up with medicine.

[Morty]

Salix's Sapling

"When the sea was young and new, so was I. I suppose the things I did then were new, but that was so long ago. Only mortals can do new things now, and they so seldom do. Before I saw this sapling, the last new thing I saw was many many years ago. I saw a mortal who destroyed a whole forest with a single object that screamed louder than thunder, splintered the trees, and set everything aflame. That was a terrible new thing, but since then, I have seen it again and again." The unicorn says. Her horn dims a little as she tells of her memory of the first explosion she ever saw.

Brinika's ears droop. She's not sure what to say to that. It's possible she feels a little guilty, since she knows goblins aren't exactly considerate when it comes to clearing out forests, up to and including bombing them.

"But mortals come up with other new things. Like that song you heard me sing. You hadn't heard it before, right?"

[Shadowcaller]

[Infirmary - Hekta and Elias]

"Okay! Hekta exclaims. "Come Elias, let's go to the kitchen!" I'm not sure how well her foot is healed though or if it's just the pain. Could she run to the kitchen right now?

[Recaiden]

[Infirmary]

She should be able to walk, but she would be able to tell her foot isn't fully healed. Running is not advised.

"That sounds like a good idea, Marley," Quinn agrees with a nod and a smile.

[Jamie's Room]

"Dad refused to let any romance books into the house on general principles. I've never read one. I've also always enjoyed reading books of magical theory, which I guess comes from my Mum." Who is rarely mentioned and Jamie has never met, but was referenced in the obituary.

"You can sneak some of mine if you want." Jamie giggles softly. "Magical theory? I've been meaning to study some of that myself, actually, maybe we could study together?"

Quinn finally moves from where she had been watching, a smile on her face. "You did great," she tells Anchor...

...before her sharp ears hear what sounds like a commotion from the living quarters attached to the Infirmary, and she apologetically excuses herself, turning to investigate...

If she throws open the bedroom door, she might just see Rein pinning Tovia to the bed. Oh dear!

"Thank you; I'll give one a go. And sure! Though most of the stuff I've brought with me is Conjuration-specific; Earth's not like the Nexus. Magic there is very specific; the laws of Conjuration are different to the laws of Witchcraft, and I'd hamper my existing magical abilities if I tried learning the theory behind any of the other branches of spell-craft. What I've got might not be applicable to what you can do." Because magic's magic; it doesn't have to make sense! So it doesn't, with multiple conflicting theories behind how to cast a spell and do cool stuff, all of which are correct.

"Oh. well, at least the theory wouldn't hurt, right?" Jamie asks, looking rather curious. "I mean, I just kinda...got my abilities. I'm not even completely sure how they work, just that they do," the Druid Princess admits.

Does he really think she could normally throw him across the room without any leverage? Tovia opens her mouth to argue or explain or cuss him out. But then Quinn enters. ... Help!

"I see." Reelshka isn't sure if she believes it. "How many of your clones are there?"

Woods

The only other thing he does with them is justify all the plot cloning Rein used to do.

"It varies at any given time. So... don't really know. Between 15 and 25?" A rough guess.

[Infirmary]

If she's as skilled as she wants the world to believe, she'd create her own leverage!

Oh. Quinn's here. Awkward. "Yes, help!" Reinholdt agrees with that much.

Taking in the scene in an instant, Quinn rushed over...and started trying to pry Reinholdt off of her husband.

Or was it wife, considering the genderbending?

...regardless, the catboy was the one getting the help. In getting him off of Tobias.

"What's going on?!"

Tovia squirms and writhes underneath Reinholdt and tries to slip off the bed once her wife got involved. Hey love, Rein wants to talk to you about relationships and exactly how open or closed our marriage may be. Keep him busy while I go do a thing, will you?

[Reinholdt]

[Infirmary]

"She's trying to perform dangerous magic rituals on zero sleep! She's exhausted!" Reinholdt insists as Quinn pulls him off Tovia and she slips free.

Mark can be skipped this turn, because his player has no idea where the last two posts are and he's a quiet little robot.

"Wait, what - "

Quinn paused, took a deep breath, and then tried to grab Tovia's shoulder in one hand while hanging onto Reinholdt with the other. "One at a time. Please."


Of course, if the former was fast enough to escape during her pause, well...

The Druidess is already gone by the time Quinn opens her mouth. She sprints through the Infirmary, out the door, across the main road, and into the Med Lab. Unless stopped, of course.

[Arkhosia]

Outside

It appears Xenna has been outside the Infirmary door, doing... Nothing much, really. Just pacing around bored with nothing better to do.
And then Tovia rushes out.
Unless Tovia is really quick to respond, she'll end up slamming into Xenna.

Anchor smiles. "Thank you Quinn." She turns to head out of the infirmary when suddenly someone comes running past. Anchor jumps forward, trying to grab or just touch Tovia and exert the strongest Calming effect she can.

[Reinholdt]

Infirmary

Reinholdt won't chase. If she's that committed so as to run away from his wife, there's no point. Besides Quinn's still holding him.

He'd like to at least be there though, so does try standing and calmly walking after Tovia, following, not chasing. At least he might if Quinn lets him at any rate. Depends on her now.
