Also if I recall, the last time someone let Rage in he was described to be on par with Superman.

This time, there's no possession. I'm keeping Rage firmly out of the direct interference area (especially given that he's the embodiment of anger and the dark side is a power that feeds on anger...). Plus, that incident was a whole pile of fail that I'm not anxious to repeat.

I think of it as almost like a Warlock pact - Trucido can draw on a limited amount of Rage's energy, at a cost.

Retconning seems to be a good idea here. we can have Trucido just randomly hearing nonsense and talking to no one, cause, yeah. He does that.

Wise.

Once it gets dark in the Crossroad things get terrifically dangerous. Any place that has PCs and lacks a light source will attract The Grue. Where as darkness is simply a lack of light The Grue is an area of physical gloom that will quickly devour anyone it can reach, leaving nothing behind aside from stripped bones and equipment. Trying to fight The Grue is foolhardy at best, suicidal at worst.

However, not all is lost! The Grue flees from sources of light, often brooding just beyond the reach of the illumination and waiting for a chance to strike. Darkvision won't protect you from The Grue, it'll just let you see a smothering mass of deeper darkness racing toward you moments before you die horribly.

Remember kids, if it is pitch black you are likely to be eaten by The Grue.

Sorry for not keeping the deadline, my characters too alien to describe with flavor text alone so I need to make a rough picture but it's taking longer than I anticipated. The Grue is basically a 'miss or die' attack, in the form of a wandering monster. One can ward it off with fires or other light sources, yes (the 'miss' part), but that rules out a lot of things that are sensitive to light or fire, and there seems to be no way of evading it other than that. And if it does get to you, it can pretty much mulch anything, at least anything acceptable as a PC here, from what you've said.

It also makes vampires of any kind basically impossible (unless they tolerate sunlight ) because you can't, effectively, move around at night. And certainly you can't sneak, which means that the small tribes that are supposed to be forming can't do night-raids on each other at all.

Also, it lends itself to being a no-win situation; either one has a light and attracts attention from the predators the Grue mysteriously leaves alone, or one does not have a light, and gets eaten by the Grue.
