    "You first, traitor!" Bel'shazar roars as he swings to maul at their former companion. The maul's head smashes through the guard rail of the cart and leaves a sizable bruise on Genocidicles's body. Before he can react, Bel'Shazar turns and runs around the side of the cart, breathing fire through its bars as he goes. As he rounds the corner to the front, he swings his maul around for another mighty blow against the driver.

    Guards

    The flying ash and flames seem to galvanize the guards into action. The two guards knocked to the floor of the cart stand quickly and slash with their short swords at the attackers nearest them. Two other guards launch themselves over the edge of the cart to position themselves for advantageous attacks, but one catches his boot on the top rail and flails ungracefully to flop in a heap at the minotaur's feet. The final guard on the back of the cart finds the masked eladrin an easy target. The guards training and regimental discipline serve them well.

    Standing, Echadar lunges again at the traitorous Genocidocles, this time finding a gap in his platemail and drawing blood. Echadar runs his hand along his blade, as if wiping the blood off, but no bloodstain appears on his skin. Instead, Bel'Shazar feels re-invigorated, and in the space of a blink, finds himself standing on the cart in the middle of the chaos, with Ashkasa standing on his shoulder.

    Elyas points towards the cart, and the spirit of the serpent floats ethereally to above their former ally, where his presence restores hope to both Tarbh and Bel'Shazar.

    Elyas turns his attention to the southernmost guards, trying to impede them with a forceful mental blow, before the spirit explodes in a burst of light.

    Tarbh eyes the guards around him, seeing one had already surrendered, Tarbh takes it upon himself to make the other 3 surrender as well. But if it between him and them......he would send flowers. "Surrender now, like your companion, and you shall not meet that one's fate!!!" Tarbh points his sword at Genocidicles, making a point.

    Hearing the bellowing call of the minotaur, two guards turn to face the raging beast with swords flying. Neither can touch the paladin, bathed in righteousness. The guard farthest away takes a swing at the masked eladrin in front of him. As he swings, he howls in pain yet his blade finds its mark, flooring the warlord. The fourth guard, unarmed, cowers under the cart, fearful of another fire blast to the face. You recognize him now as the fellow who fled the caves earlier.

    Ashaska just flies above Tarbh's head. From one moment to the next, her fiery wings flash outwards, for less than a second assuming their original size, the tiny release setting the very air around Tarbh. Yet the flames do not harm him or any of Ashaska's allies, who think they see the faint outline of a humanlike winged woman in the flames. But the flames are very real for the remaining guards.

    Bel'Shazar tries to leap after the fleeing human, but is swiftly and harshly reminded of his leg injury. He clutches his leg and watches as Genocidicles tumbles down the embankment. Furious that he might lose his prey, Bel'Shazar unhooks a throwing hammer from his belt and throws it as hard as he can. It lands harmlessly in the ground next to Genocidicles's head.

    The guards' hope, fleeing as quickly as their turncoat companion, leaves them with little choice but to try to take a traitor with them. As they near the minotaur for a joint effort, heat radiating from the little one overwhelms one of the guards while the other barely gets a strike in. His blade slips in an opening, wounding the minotaur. Buffeted by the winds, he uses their force to help his battered body take a step back.

    "Stay where you are, coward! You do not deserve a third chance!" Reaching out with his mind and spirit, he calls down dread force to slow and confound the escaping target.

    The Favorite of the Empire, struggling to get up, confused and dirty from his fall, flattens on the ground as is hit by a giant's maul, his breath coming out of him is gasps until his eyes close and his breathing is heard no more.

    As Genocidicles falls dead, Bel'Shazar calms a bit. He turns to the remaining guard and raises his maul. "I wouldn't move if I were you. The fey-man wants you alive more than I do."

    As the final guard drops to the ground, the escapees grow tired of killing, the blood staining their weapons and armor. Together, they pull the cart around and lead the horse back the way it came.

    Riding off into the new land, they seek a path of peace-loving exploration, boldly going where few, if any, have gone before.

    After credits stinger of Genocidicles corpse sitting bolt upright with eyes of blackened ebony.
