"Geased to not speak, eh? Hokay, that's fine. I can understand that," Garrett breaks up the roll for the crow, "Well, I'd appreciate it if you didn't eat mine, Miss Caelynn."

[Deathkeeper]

"Well, that's what I assume it was. I've never been dumb enough to activate it.
And there's not much point anyway. Crows are too small and boney to eat. You'd hardly get a meal's worth. But still, be glad you're stuck with someone forgiving, bird."
Spako says with a chuckle.

Garrett weakly chuckles with Caelynn, not really sure of the proper reaction. The crow nips his fingers a bit as it feeds from his hand, but he doesn't seem to notice.

"It seems a tad dangerous to just be given out like that."

"I don't follow. What do you mean?" says Spako, a bit confused.

Caelynn replies.

"An artefact of almost godlike power, nigh upon impossible to control? Just handed out to a mortal like that? I sense an ulterior motive," Garrett raps his fingers on the table and thinks.

"I mean, even the granting of magick was originally part of a war between two primal deities."

The mug of Darknight coffee is working wonders for Niara's brain functionality. She watches the other three quietly from her seat, taking out a sleek purse and paying for her food and last night's drinks when her sandwich arrives.

[Deathkeeper]

Spako chuckles again. "No, I think he's just got a sick sense of humor. In fact, I'm almost sure of that."
After all, he remembers the message attached to them.

Caelynn replies, ordering a soda.

"I've only ever met one god who wasn't a sick ****," Garrett says bitterly, waving at Niara as he feels her gaze.

[Deathkeeper]

"Garrett, he's the only reason I don't still have a lance-sized hole through my chest. Show a little respect." Spako says quietly.

Garrett receives a weary wave in response, as she tucks into her sandwich hungrily. She might go over and join them in a while, when she's properly with it.

"I've only ever met one god who wasn't a sick ****," Garrett says bitterly, waving at Niara as he feels her gaze.

"Garrett, he's the only reason I don't still have a lance-sized hole through my chest. Show a little respect." Spako says quietly.

He does have a point, Garrett.
Caelynn points out.

"And my mother gave birth to me. She's still a pompous bitch who thinks she can play with mortals like we're toys," Garrett sips at his lemonade and scowls at nothing in particular.

[Deathkeeper]

"Garrett, he was really good to me and had been almost completely alone for five thousand years. Please."
A little insanity is pretty par for the course under those circumstances.

We judge others by only their actions, do we not? Let's look at this god's actions. He saved Spako and gave him the card deck, with no ill intentions as far as we are aware of, right? From that, can we actually conclude he's evil? No.

"...you're right. I apologize. I musnt let the past cloud my view of the future. Still, this deck must be carefully guarded. This is the Nexus, there's always gonna be someone with a scheme," Garrett's glare softens.

[Deathkeeper]

Spako scowls.
"No one knows better than me, Garrett. An elf rewrote history and reignited a war before I ever even knew what it was. Pothoc elves. That's why I've taken countermeasures."

[Arkhosia]

I'd suggest keeping them in a box of some kind, enchanted to prevent it being stolen.

"I think the deck itself is already enchanted like that, but you know how magic is," Garrett says with a shrug.

[Deathkeeper]

"It's very simple. Now that I'm officially the Deck's keeper, it will always return to me. And if someone Draws it before it does, than the Deck will be very...prejudiced in its results." Spako says with an evil grin.

Seems like you don't have to worry about security then.

"My worry is the fickleness of magick in the Nexus," Garrett reaches for another honey roll, intent on eating this one.

[Deathkeeper]

Spako shrugs.
"The Nexus is pretty similar to Wildspace. All kinds of things, criss-crossing in the strangest places. The only differences is the lack of spelljamming ships to get to places and that some of the worlds have whole different systems of existence."

What's a spelljammer?
Caelynn inquires, curious.

"What's the Wildspace? Another junction realm?"

"A spelljammer is a term for any ship making use of a Spelljamming Helm, immensely powerful artifacts born from the true Spelljammer city-ship, used to power vehicles.
Wildspace is a region between worlds. It's the space between planets, although there are large colonies and planetoids along with various meteors floating around in there. Some folks make cities on moons or floating asteroids instead of true planets." he explains cheerily, happy to talk about his second (of 3) home.
